Use of Montessori pedagogy in speech therapy prevention in preschool children

This bachelor thesis deals with the topic of Montessori pedagogy and its use in speech therapy prevention in preschool children. The main goal of this thesis is the analysis of methods used in Montessori pedagogy in providing speech therapy prevention in Montessori kindergartens. The bachelor thesis is divided into three chapters. The first two chapters describe the theoretical basis on which the work is based. Based on the professional literature, the chapters define both selected topics. The first theoretical part deals with the theoretical basis of speech therapy. The content includes information about communication, about the development of speech and language, about the areas that influence this development and finally about speech therapy prevention. The second part describes another area that the work deals with, and therefore Montessori pedagogy, its principles, origin and current form in the Czech Republic and in the world. Motor Skills of Children with Communication Disabilities in Preschool Age

The topic of the diploma thesis is motor skills of children with communication disabilities in preschool age. The thesis includes theoretical and practical part. Theoretical part deals mainly with psychomotor development of the child from birth to preschool age. The thesis also deals with speech development of the child and stages of speech ontogenesis. Third chapter is dediated to communication disability with a focus on diagnosis deleyed speech, development, dyslalia and development dysphasia. In the end there are mentioned and described the most often used diagnostic materials, detecting level of motor skills in preschool age. The main aim of the empirical part is to find out the level of motor skills of children with communication disabilities in preschool age. The main method of quantitative research is the set of tasks to diagnose the level of motor skills. The results of 15 participating probands are then compared with an equally large control group of children without communication disabilites. The said research is supplemented by survey that is focused on psychomotor development of child. Use of technical devices in speech therapy with people after a stroke

The master's thesis is aimed at the use of technical devices in speech therapy for individuals affected by a stroke. The thesis is divided into theoretical and empirical part. The theoretical part focuses on the characteristics of a stroke and other speech-related disorders caused as a result of this acute condition. Specific technical devices used in speech therapy are also outlined in this part. The empirical part contains a qualitative research where case studies are applied. The main goal was to identify which technical device was used during a therapy. Moreover, it is clarified why a particular device was chosen by the therapist, its use and further development during the therapy and the patient's relationship towards the technical device while undergoing speech therapy. Effect of breastfeeding and early feeding on the development of articulation difficulties

The diploma thesis is on a special pedagogical topic with a specializatin on the field of speech therapy. In its theoretical part, it summarizes the findings on the development of speech in early and preschool children, also focuses on the connection between breastfeeding and other methods of feeding at an early age, the development of the orofacial system and the development of articulation of individual sounds. The practical part presents research of a qualitative nature. It contains information from interviews with mothers of children who have been diagnosed with dyslalia. Based on the grounded theory, the obtained information was processed and research conclusions were created. Speech therapy interventions for adults with cognitive-communication disorders

The diploma thesis deals with the implementation of speech therapy intervention in adults with cognitive-communication deficits. The work consists of theoretical and empirical parts, which together form five chapters. The theoretical part contains four chapters. The first chapter briefly characterizes the issue of cognitive-communication deficits. In the following chapters, the thesis also presents selected types of diseases that are related to the empirical part of the work. The fourth chapter describes speech therapy intervention in these diseases. The last chapter is the empirical part of the work. For the implementation of the research, a qualitative research survey was taken. Using case studies, speech therapy intervention in adults with cognitive-communication deficits was described and then its two components - speech diagnostics and therapy - were evaluated. In addition to the case study, methods of semi-structured interview, participatory observation and document data collection were used to obtain outputs. Possible benefit of the emerging mobile application KROK in the context of intervention of people with balbuties

The diploma thesis aims to find a possible benefits of particular mobile application named KROK, which is the acronym of the following czech words:" K - konec, R - rychlým, O - odpovědím, K - koktavost." The mobile application is designed for people who have problems with speech fluency, especially for those with the diagnosis of stammer. The introductory part of the theoretical part deals with the problematics of stammer, explores the terminology, etiology, symptomatology and it's classification. The next part of the diploma thesis describes a possible forms of diagnosis of the stammer and speech therapy. The last part of the theoretical part of the diploma thesis focuses on the techniques and methods, which may be used by the mobile application KROK. The empirical part of the diploma thesis focuses on the research itself which determines the possible benefits of the techniques that could be used by the mobile application KROK for people with stuttering.
Speech Therapy Provision for Seniors at Residential Care

The topic of this diploma thesis is speech therapy provision for seniors at residential care. The thesis consists of four chapters, three of which are theoretical, the fourth chapter is practical. The first chapter describes the old age, it presents basic terminology and it characterises the old age from the point of view of physical, mental and social development. The second chapter is concentrated on the issue of neurological speech and language disorders, their etiology, symptomatology, diagnostics and therapy. The third theoretical chapter describes the system of health and social care of seniors in the Czech Republic with an accent on the system of speech therapy intervention within the resorts of health care and social care. The fourth chapter is the research one. It is developed as a quantitative descriptive research, using the technique of a questionnaire sent to nursing homes for seniors in the Czech Republic. The research is completed by qualitative analysis of dialogues with speech therapists that provide speech therapy at nursing homes for seniors. Education of a child with impaired communication abilities in elementary school ordinary type

The thesis deals with the education of children with communication problems at a regular primary school. The theoretical part describes the ontogenetic development of speech, speech disorders and language planes. The second chapter deals with communication and impaired communication capability. There is also a subchapter on autism, Asperger's syndrome, developmental dysphasia and the principles of communication with children with the above disadvantage. The concepts of alternative and augmentative communication, the concept of inclusion with its legislative framework and development after 1989, where the Framework's educational plan and the brief characteristics of the educational field Czech Language and Mathematics are mentioned, are also explained here. The practical part describes first-class coping in children with autism, developmental dysphasia and Asperger's syndrome. Especially the coping of mathematics and the Czech language. There are elaborate case studies and interviews with teachers who led these children in first class. In conclusion, several recommendations for pedagogical practice are made.
Child with Developmental Language Disorder at Inclusive School

The topic of this bachelors' thesis is inclusive educational process of a child with developmental language disorder. The thesis consists of four chapters, three of which are theoretical, the fourth chapter is practical. The first chapter describes the development of the intact child of preschool and young school age, with the accent on the speech development. The second chapter is concentrated on the issue of developmental language disorder, its etiology, symptomatology, diagnostics and therapy. The third chapter introduces the term inclusion and it offers main factors and conditions of successful inclusive education in the Czech Republic, including the legislation. The fourth chapter is the research one. It is developed as a case study of a child with developmental language disorder. It describes the educational process of the child at inclusive school. It points out the difficulties in various educational areas due to developmental language disorder. Furthermore the thesis aims at the identification of advantages and disadvantages of inclusive education for each of the participants at the educational process.
