Additionally, seniors who make at least once a week physical activity have a higher body satisfaction than seniors who do not perform regular physical activity. Women with BMI 18.5-24.99 kg/m2 show higher body satisfaction in compared with women with BMI ≥ 25 kg/m2. Attitudes toward childbirth in Czech women
Zámečník, Jakub ; Horáková Hoskovcová, Simona (advisor) ; Štětovská, Iva (referee)
Nowadays, women have a wide range of sources of information about childbirth. Women's attitudes toward childbirth are made by sharing experiences between women and in families but also they are based on information from media and internet. Consequently attitudes toward childbirth influence the choice of kind of delivery and women's childbirth experience. These days we can see some trends in obstetrics - the rising interest in natural births, on the one hand, and the rising number of women delivering their babies by cesarean section on the other hand. The goal of this socio-psychologically oriented thesis is to map women's attitudes to these most striking birth trends, and also to identify the reasons for these women's attitudes. The research part is thus focused qualitatively and uses the data from the analysis of the internet discussion forums for mothers. In the previous theoretical part are presented the key information necessary to understand the studied topic, such as the issues of attitudes, the specifics of the communication on the internet discussion forums and above all the current scientific knowledge about the attitudes of women to childbirth in the Czech Republic and the world. Key words Attitudes of women, natural childbirth, assisted childbirth, homebirth, caesarean section, internet...

6 Title: The relationship between teachers' educational styles and the perceived academic efficacy of primary school students Author: PhDr. Mgr. Tomáš Komárek Department: Department of Psychology Supervisor: PhDr. Simona Horáková Hoskovcová, Ph.D. Abstract: The presented doctoral thesis examines the issue of perceived academic efficacy in relation to teachers' educational styles in the transitional period between the first and second half of primary school (equivalent to transition from primary school to secondary school). The main research aim was to test the hypothesis that teachers' educational styles influence the perceived academic efficacy of students using quantitative statistical methods. The second aim was to compare regular schools with schools using the teaching programme 'Step by Step' in both main variables and to determine the extent to which these schools differ. The research sample was comprised of fifth-grade students from both types of schools (N = 896). The data was obtained using three questionnaires: the questionnaire 'Interaction of the teacher and students' examines the teacher's educational style; questionnaires 'Myself as a learner scale' and 'Children self-efficacy scale' focus on measuring the students' perceived academic efficacy. The results confirmed a statistically significant...
Family relationships from a child's perspective
Uholyeva, Xenie ; Horáková Hoskovcová, Simona (advisor) ; Šírová, Eva (referee) ; Lacinová, Lenka (referee)
The aim of the study was to describe the perception of the family by child clients of counselling psychological clinics and compare the perception of family cohesion with children with internalizing and externalizing symptoms. The research file consisted of 124 children aged 5- 18 (mean 10.4). Children were administered FAST (Family System Test). We assumed that total family cohesion would be lower in the families of children with externalizing symptoms than in the families of children with internalizing symptoms. This assumption was not supported, there were no significant differences in the level of overall family cohesion among children with externalizing and internalizing symptoms, but the two groups differed from the children without symptoms. The results are in accordance with the theoretical assumption of a linear relationship between family cohesiveness and adaptation of family members. We also assumed that dyadic cohesiveness in the father-mother pair would correlate with dyadic cohesiveness in the child-father pair, and gained data provided support for this assumption. The occurrence of inverted hierarchies and intergenerational coalitions in our sample is higher than in the general population. Qualitative analysis of children's verbal commentaries on family representations supported the...

Recent changes in emancipation of young adults from family
Povrazníková, Monika ; Horáková Hoskovcová, Simona (advisor) ; Cerha, Ondřej (referee)
This bachelor thesis focuses on a summary of the latest knowledge of the timing of emancipation of young adults, their psychological and physical separation, from their parents and their parents' household. The focus of this work on young adulthood is predominantly from Western point of society, but Japan and India are also mentioned, as the gradually delay of the departure of young adults from their parents seems to be a global phenomenon with certain specific cultural and economic characteristics. Similarly, adulthood, characterized by autonomy, responsibility, and the acquisition of specific roles, is postponed to an higher age,. Arnett (2006) suggests to name the period between adolescence and adulthood as emerging adulthood. However, some are doubtful about its legitimate existence (Bynner, 2005), as it occurs mainly for those ones, who can afford to delay adulthood. The design of a research project is a longitudinal research focusing on the occurrence of the emerging adulthood in young Slovaks, the perceived parental behavior and the type of their household. Key words: young adulthood, emerging adulthood, delayed home leaving, authonomy, parents
