Transcultural turnover and national identity
Holubová, Kateřina ; Podaná, Zuzana (advisor) ; Šubrt, Jiří (referee)
The essence of the thesis is to answer the best possible way the theoretical and empirical question how national identity reflects the transcultural turnover (Kreuzzieger, 2012a, 2012b). The concept of transcultural turnover includes theories which consider the cultural aspects of contemporary accelerating globalization, including a premise of weakening of the nation-state in terms of its cultural homogeneity (Welsch, 1999, 2000), which is seen as one of the pillars of national identity (Hall, 1992; Anderson, 2008; Tomlinson 2003). Answers to the raised questions are by some authors conceptualized differently, and as such, in the form of hypotheses, the answers enter the empirical part of this thesis and there they are tested for 16 selected European countries thanks to the publicly available data from a survey of national identity. The research was carried out by ISSP in 1995 and 2003. There are also used some other sources of aggregate data such as GDP level or index of globalization. From the statistical analysis there is hierarchical cluster analysis, correlation analysis and Z-test of proportions. The real effect of transcultural turnover to change the form of national identity can not be on the basis of the empirical part of this thesis excluded, given the fact that the national identities of...
The study of dual matrix tablets
Holubová, Kateřina ; Mužíková, Jitka (advisor) ; Šklubalová, Zdeňka (referee)
Charles University in Prague, Faculty of Pharmacy in Hradec Králové Department Pharmaceutical Technology Candidate Mgr. Kateřina Holubová Consultant PharmDr. Jitka Mužíková, PhD. Title of the Tesis The study of dual matrix tablets The thesis studies the compressibility of directly compressible tableting materials containing two viscosity types of hypromellose in two concentrations and tableting materials containing additional glyceryl dibehenate, also in two concentrations. Compressibility is evaluated by means of the energy profile of the compression process and determination of tensile strength of tablets. Dissolution test examines the rate of release of the active ingredient from matrix tablets. Increased concentrations of both hypromelloses and an addition of glyceryl dibehenate into tablets with both types of hypromellose improved compressibility. The rate of drug release was decreased with increasing viscosity degree of hypromellose and its increasing concentration. An addition of glyceryl dibehenate exerted the same influence on relea se as increased concentrations of the pertinent hypromellose.
Dance therapy in Parkinson's disease

In the second half of the thesis deals with the general influence of dance for Parkinson's disease and expands the benefits of various dances. The work also contains a case report of a patient and a description of dance figures, which have been used in therapy. Results of tests of motor performance that improved, are recorded in table. And in the annex is the proposal for the structure of a dance class. Powered by TCPDF (www.tcpdf.org)
A study of the compressibility and properties of tablets from co-processed dry binders composed of two types of lactose and glyceryl monostearate.
Holubová, Kateřina ; Mužíková, Jitka (advisor) ; Šnejdrová, Eva (referee)
The thesis evaluated and compared the strength and disintegration time of tablets and the energy profile of compression in dependence on compression force in the co-processed dry binders LubriTose™ SD and LubriTose™ AN. These substances were further compared in these parameters with the physical mixtures of the pertinent lactoses with various lubricants in a concentration of 2 % and 4 %. The lubricants employed included glycerol monostearate, magnesium stearate, poloxamer 407, and sodium stearylfumarate. LubriTose™ AN yielded stronger tablets with a longer disintegration time, lower values of total energy and lower plasticity than LubriTose™ SD. The tablets made of LubriTose™ SD possessed the same strength as the tablets made of a physical mixture of spray-dried lactose with 4 % of poloxamer 407, but a higher one than those made of a mixture of lactose with of 4 % glycerol monostearate, and their disintegration time was longer, excepting the tablets made of a mixture with 4 % of magnesium stearate. The tablets made of LubriTose™ AN possessed the same strength and a longer disintegration time than the tablets made of a physical mixture of anhydrous lactose with 4 % of glycerol monostearate, and their disintegration time was identical with that of the tablets made of a physical mixture of the...
The Social situation of foreigners in the city of Prague
Holubová, Kateřina ; Buriánek, Jiří (advisor) ; Podaná, Zuzana (referee)
Prague is a city with a high concentration of foreigners from various countries who live here and are faced with many social problems. I am trying to identify, describe and understand these problems of foreigners living in Prague in the empirical part of this work, based on the secondary analysis of deep conversations and interviews provided by the Organization for Aid to Refugees and Counselling Centre for Integration. The theoretical part is focused on the issue of migration and integration, both in general and in relation to the Czech Republic. Keywords: foreigners, social problems, migration, integration,
Non-contractual obligations in private international law
Holubová, Kateřina ; Pauknerová, Monika (advisor) ; Dobiáš, Petr (referee)
Non-Contractual Obligations in Private International Law This thesis deals with non-contractual obligations in private international law. The most important law in this area is the Rome II Regulation on the law applicable to non-contractual obligations that applies since 11 January 2009. The Regulation creates a common regime of conflict of law rules for most civil and commercial non-contractual obligations. The general rule is the law of the place of injury (lex loci damni). The rule is subject to two exceptions, the common habitual residence exception and a general escape clause based on the closer connection principle. Special rules are laid down for some non-contractual obligations, such as product liability, unfair competition and acts restricting free competition, environmental damages, infringement of intellectual property rights, unjust enrichment, negotiorum gestio and culpa in contrahendo. However, in most cases, the parties may agree on the law applicable to the non- contractual obligations between them. Post-tort agreements may be made between all parties whereas pre-tort agreements are allowed only where all the parties are pursuing commercial activity. Where the Rome II Regulation does not apply the courts will look to the relevant national legislation, which is the Private...
Relationships between functional traits, home range sizes, and dispersal abilities in birds
Holubová, Kateřina ; Storch, David (advisor) ; Sedláček, Ondřej (referee)
Avian movements through the landscape involving dispersal and routine movements within home-range or territory are one of the basic but due to a high mobility of birds also one of the least understood processes of bird ecology, especially on the interspecific level. Not only is dispersal a fundamental mechanism of species' spreading into new areas, but also, together with home-range size, it shows the scale on which species perceive the landscape and how they can deal with habitat changes. Dispersal ability, represented by dispersal distances, is determined by a few species specific traits like body size, migratory status, wing and bill morphology, diet type, preferred habitat type or some life-history traits. On the contrary, home-range size variability is determined primarily by energetic demands of the species, given by its body size and trophic level, and by the productivity of the environment. There is a positive relationship between home-range size or territory size, respectively, and dispersal distances of birds that can be attributed to species vagility or their spatial requirements determined especially by their food preference. Nevertheless, further research mainly on interspecific level is necessary for a deeper insight into this issue.
Psychological Aspects of Food Intake
Holubová, Kateřina ; Stackeová, Daniela (advisor) ; Richterová, Eva (referee)
This paper is particularly aimed at people who console themselves with food to solve their problems. Psychosocial factors are the most common reasons for overweight and obesity, which are thought as the epidemic of the 21st century. Therefore this bachelor thesis is concentrating at the impact on food over the psyche and overeating, which can lead to overweight and obesity. Emotional eating is a close link between emotions and eating, and especially among women is it quite widespread. Therefore should be experts by the treatment of obesity in particular focus on the psyche of these people and offer them psychological assistance.
