Selected Administrative Style Genres in Teaching Czech to Native Speakers of Russian at Secondary Schools

The dissertation focuses on teaching of so called advanced writing (in Czech) to secondary- school pupils who are native Russian speakers. We investigate the topic in the framework of a specific curriculum topic, i.e. administrative style genres. The aim of the dissertation is a) to identify the approach of teachers and that of Russian-speaking pupils towards this particular part of the curriculum, b) to assess the differences between texts of the chosen genres written by Czech pupils and pupils with Russian mother tongue, and, finally, c) to propose didactic solution for teaching the given administrative style genres to Russian-speaking pupils. We approach the topic with qualitative research methods. The practical part of the thesis consists of four parts. In the first one, on the basis of interviews, we analyse the teachers' approach, collect the evidence of critical places as well as examples of good practice. The second part looks closely at the Russian-speaking pupils' view. It has been discovered the pupils often cannot evaluate their language competences objectively, and generally, they lack metacognitive skills. We applied the pedagogical, linguistic, and marginally also the musicological approach. The educational communication was described based on partial objectives. The first research part deals with research and description of communication structures where we were finding out what types of communication structures occur in the educational communication and what communication structures are represented the most. The second research part deals with research and description of communication (illocutionary) functions where we were interested in with what intents the teachers and pupils communicate and in what frequency. Selected Problems of School Communication

Diference v současném pojetí obecné pedagogiky se zřetelem ke vztahu učitele a žáka v kontextu pedagogické a školské komunikace. Cílem tohoto úvodního výkladu je vyjít z novějších prací zaměřených na obecně pedagogickou problematiku, a to právě z těch prací, které jsou svým charakterem určeny ktomu, aby ovlivňovaly především posluchače pedagogických oborů na vysokých školách, zejména na pedagogických fakultách. Půjde nám při tom o to, abychom zjistili, nakolik vytvářejí prostor pro současné chápání komunikace mezi učitelem a žákem. Jak bude dále zřejmé, nechceme tuto komunikaci chápat v úzkém smyslu a v zjednodušené diferenciaci zvlášť na činnosti vzdělávací a zvlášť na činnosti výchovné. Jde naopak o pohled komplexní, syntetický - začleňující komunikaci učitele a žáka do celku vzdělávacího a výchovného procesu uskutečňovaného ve školním prostředí. Proto nepůjde o celkové posouzení a zhodnocení těchto prací, další řádky budou zaměřeny na to, do jaké míry jsou slučitelné s podobory pedagogických věd jako je pedagogická komunikace a školská komunikace (srov. podrobněji dále). Abstract: The dissertation deals with the issue of acquiring the linguistic concept and the term of the conjunction by primary school pupils of 1st-5th, works with children's preconceptions in the language area and introduces how the pupils of the first grade of the elementary school work with the term conjunction. It maps the cognitive processes of pupils in the context of the acquisition of the conjunction language phenomenon and the important moments in which the primary child preconception changes into the language term in the pupils mind. Introduces with the process of conceptualizing the language reality, in which he detaches from the naive child concept of conjunction to the specific linguistic term of a conjunction as a verbal type. It describes the individual parts of the research, in which the individual thought movements of pupils in the area of linguistic gripping of the term conjunction are gradually transformed. Theory of Frames and its Educational Possibilities Jan Huleja Czech Language Departement PhDr. Ladislav Janovec, Ph.D. Abstract The dissertation Theory of Frames and its Educational Possibilities consists of a theoretical, practical and didactic chapter. The theme of the first chapter is the Theory of Frames that includes a variety of concepts and theoretical views across different humanities and social disciplines that discuss how individuals, groups and societies perceive and organize reality and how they communicate about it. In the next part of the dissertation the application Frames of Ostrava in the Czech Linguistic Picture of the World demonstrates the potential of the Theory of Frames for cultural-linguistic and discourse analyzes. It analyses an extensive and representative sample of Czech language material (text, system and empirical language data) and attempts to reconstruct the Czech linguistic picture of Ostrava. We are focusing on what frames the picture of Ostrava is composed of, i. e. how it is predominantly portrayed by the users of the Czech language, how they narrate about it. TITLE: Morphological Variation in Spoken and Written Communication of Pupils from the Sixth to the Ninth Grade in the Central Bohemian Dialect Region AUTHOR: Pavel Sojka DEPARTMENT: Czech Language Department, Faculty of Education in Prague SUPERVISOR: PhDr. Ladislav Janovec, Ph.D. ABSTRACT This dissertation presents the results of the research in the morphological variation in the spoken and written expression of primary-school pupils (sixth-to-ninth graders) within the central Bohemian dialect region. The impetus behind this research is the long-standing requirement for linguistic examination to pay attention not only to the language of adults, but also to that of pupils and students. From the viewpoint of pedagogy, it establishes the extent to which the speech of children and youth features typical morphological tendencies of contemporary Czech, from the viewpoint of linguistics, it verifies the extent to which schooling manages to fulfill one of the crucial goals of linguistic education, i.e. appropriation of the standardized form of national language.
