The goal of the bachelor thesis is to design, construct and test a timer for fire sport including a large display and automatic targets. The thesis includes a market research around commercially available timing devices, their comparison with each other according to available parameters, and finally a system is designed and constructed that combines the capabilities of already manufactured sets with new features and possibilities for large-scale extension beyond the boundaries of fire sport.

Philological Marginal Notes in John's Gospel of Blahoslav's Translations of New Testament

The diploma thesis Philological Marginal Notes in John's Gospel of Blahoslav's Translations of New Testament deals with the characteristics of the philological marginal notes in John's Gospel of Blahoslav's New Testament from the year 1564 and 1568. The life of Jan Blahoslav, the information about Blahoslav's New Testament and the history of the research about his translation of New Testament are summarised in the thesis as well as the tradition of Bible commentary and marginal notes in their European and Czech contexts. In the practical part the thesis presents the number of philological marginal notes explored in both editions, the number of variants in marginal notes and their word class distribution. It tries to find possible sources for the text in marginal notes. It uses Czech printed translations of the Bible (Klaudyán's New Testament, Lukáš's New Testament, Optát's New Testament, Melantrich's Bible of 1556-1557) and Latin translations by Erasmus and Beza and their annotations and Vulgate. As a supplement to the thesis there is also a list of excerpted philological marginal notes from both editions of Blahoslav's New Testament and corresponding places in Bible translations examined.

Saint Procopius in literary sources

The bachelor thesis Saint Procopius in Literary Sources is dedicated to Saint Procopius and The Monastery of Sázava in the period from the 11th to the 14th century. It observes the story both of this saint and the Slavonic monastery until 1097 on the basis of medieval legends about Saint Procopius. The thesis also deals with attitudes and opinions of historians and Slavists concerning information gained from the legends. These refer to the saint himself (e. g. his origin, Slavonic education, entry to monastery) as well as to the Monastery of Sázava, which is thus described as the well-known centre of Slavonic culture, and the residence of expelled Slavonic monk comunity during the period of 1055-1061. The depiction of the Monastery of Sázava until the 14th century is enlarged with the information about its situation in the Romanesque and Gothic period, which is known thanks to the archeological research done by Květa Richterová and Petr Sommer. This knowledge is discussed within the context of other works of art. Furthermore, the thesis deals with the position of Saint Procopius, our first saint canonized by pope in Rome, among the Czech saints.

The Concept of Flesh and Spirit in the Jewish Sapiential Work Musar le-Mevin

The thesis aims to examine and refine the concepts of flesh and spirit in Musar le-Mevin, discussing Jörg Frey's hypothesis of the possibility to derive Paul's concept of sarx from Palestinian sapiential literature, in light of recent advancements in the field. The first part of the thesis is dedicated to the term baśar and its relationship to sin, knowledge and election. The second part focuses on the term jeṣer, its possible translation and the role it might have played in the development of the concept of jeṣer ha-raʿ as an evil agent. The third part analyses the term ruaḥ and describes how the sapiential composition develops its specific view of the spirit. The last chapter attempts to locate the text in relation to other intertestamental views of flesh and sin. Finally, the thesis discusses the possibility of studying Musar le-Mevin as a background to Paul's anthropology. The thesis suggests that the text develops an idea of allotted shares of the spirit which determine a person's position and fate. It also attempts to describe how this view incorporates ruaḥ baśar as a designation for those who were not given the knowledge of good and evil. The term baśar might be understood as the outcome of a fusion of the traditional Biblical connotations of fleetingness and earthliness with a pessimistic...

Optimizing Image Reconstruction in Electrical Impedance Tomography

Tato disertační práce pojednává o optimalizaci algoritmů pro rekonstrukci obrazu neznámé měrné vodivosti z měřených dat pořízených elektrickou impedanční tomografií. Danou problematiku zde věcně vymezuje několik různých prvků, zejména pak stručný matematický popis dopředné a inverzní úlohy řešené různými přístupy, metodika měření a pořizování dat pro rekonstrukci a přehled dostupných numerických nástrojů. Uvedenou charakteristiku rozšiřuje rozbor optimalizací parametrů modelu ovlivňujících přesnost rekonstrukce, způsoby paralelního zpracování algoritmů a souhrn dostupných zařízení pro měření tomografických dat. Na základě získaných poznatků byla navržena optimalizace parametrů matematického modelu, která umožňuje jeho velmi přesný návrh dle měřených dat. V této souvislosti dochází ke snížení nejistoty rekonstrukce rozložení konduktivity. Pro zefektivnění procesu získávání dat bylo navrženo zařízení k automatizaci tomografie s důrazem na cenovou dostupnost a snížení nejistoty měření. V oblasti tvorby numerického modelu byly dále zkoumány možnosti užití otevřených a uzavřených domén pro různé metody regularizace a hrubost sítě, a to s ohledem na velikost chyby rekonstruované konduktivity a výpočetní náročnost. Součástí práce je také paralelizace subalgoritmů rekonstrukce s využitím vícejádrové grafické karty. Předložené výsledky mají přímý vliv na snížení nejistoty rekonstrukce (optimalizací počáteční hodnoty konduktivity, rozmístění elektrod a tvarové deformace domény, regularizačních metod a typu domén) a urychlení výpočtů paralelizací algoritmů, přičemž výzkum byl podpořen vlastním návrhem jednotky pro automatizaci tomografie.

Jan Dušek Supervisor Prof. PharmDr. Petr Pávek, Ph.D. Title of Doctoral Thesis Development of novel Constitutive androstane receptor (CAR) ligands Constitutive androstane receptor is nowadays known as the established nuclear receptor that regulates the expression of several key cytochrome P450 enzymes, predominantly CYP3A4 and CYP2B6. Recently it has been shown that CAR has also essential role in the regulation of endogenous metabolism of glucose, lipids, cholesterole or bile acids. Simultaneously, this receptor is considered to have proliferative effect on human hepatocytes and protective effects against toxic and dietary damage of liver parenchyme. Given the possible therapeutic utilization of CAR, its therapeutic options are being intensively studied. Unfortunately, currently known ligands of human or mouse CAR are either poorly selective or indirect. The aim of my doctoral thesis was to find new ligands of mouse and human CAR, that would enable more detailed study of the receptor.

The presented paper discusses the possibilities of parallelizing algorithms for the image reconstruction in the Electrical Impedance Tomography (EIT). The parallelization process was performed and tested with combination of Matlab and CUDA environment. A twenty-fold acceleration of the Jacobian calculation was achieved. Besides of the parallelization process, the important part of the EIT experiments was the selection of the computational mesh. These mesh elements are used for fast execution of the partial differential equation EIT model. Forward and inverse problems of the image reconstruction were simulated on the novel open domain. The optimized domain reduced error in the reconstructed image.

1 Summary Starověká teologie Samaritánů: specifická funkce interpolací, duplikací a dalších textových změn v Samaritánském pentateuchu Ancient Theology of the Samaritans: Specific Interpolation, Duplication, and Other Text Changes in the Samaritan Pentateuch Klára Verzichová This thesis focuses primarily on the development of the Ten Commandments in the Samaritan Pentateuch, which is relatively neglected in the Czech Republic. The Samaritan Pentateuch belongs to fascinating text witnesses like the Qumran texts, whose discovery has been a major shift in the theories of biblical texts. A specific feature of the Samaritan Ten Command is the addition of the 10th commandment, which is the compilation of several verses from Deuteronomy. Who and when added the 10th commandment is still the subject of speculation. The aim of the dissertation was to concentrate all relevant text witnesses from the Qumran texts, to analyze them, to provide a probable translation (due to fragmentary form of many of them) and then to compare each other with the Samaritan and Masoretic texts. The aim is, therefore, a biography of the Decalogue - the reconstruction of the textual development of the Samaritan Decalogue and its transformation over time.
