Information System Assessment and Proposal for ICT Modification

Diploma thesis is focused on the assessment of the information system and the proposal for ICT modification of specific company. The first part of thesis concerns with systematic formulation of the theoretical background which is necessary for the explanation of important concepts from the field of information systems. The practical part deals with the analysis of the company as a whole and especially with the analysis of IS. In the last part of thesis are proposed options how to achieve an improvement of the current state of business information system and information technology in the selected company based on the analysis and identification of problems of the current state of the information system.

Performance Analysis of Agrodružstvo Zábřeh Using Time Series

This thesis is the application of statistical methods in selected economic indicators of Agrodružstvo Zábřeh. The first part describes the theoretical background, namely financial analysis, regression analysis and time series analysis. The second part is devoted to analyzing financial statements, business Agrodružstvo Zábřeh and on the basis of these reports and time series methods and regression analysis, set prediction for next year. Such projections can serve as a basis for creating strategies and business objectives.

Evaluation of Company Business Financial Situation and Proposal to Its Improvement

This master‘s thesis is concerned with the analysis of financial situation of MERIT Group, Inc. during the years 2008 – 2014 using suitable methods of financial analysis. It also proposes changes for strengthening the company‘s financial situation. Based on the analysis results are compared with a selected competitor. Although the company went through a period of crisis during its existence, it achieved above-average results in the last two years in a number of areas of financial analysis and clearly shows a positive trend of development of financial indicators in time.

The Afterlife in Samuel Beckett, Máirtín Ó Cadhain, and Flann O'Brien

This thesis aims to examine and compare the use of afterlife motif in Samuel Beckett's late drama, Máirtín Ó Cadhain's experimental novel Cré na Cille (1949), and Flann O'Brien's absurdist novel The Third Policeman (published posthumously in 1967). As all three are considered to be one the most prominent authors of late Irish modernism, their work is thus placed within this cultural context. The introductory chapter provides this necessary background to outline the major aspects of this particular literary tradition as well as present possible socio-cultural influences, which may have informed these seminal writers of highly experimental texts: the turbulent history of post-World War I Ireland, its political stasis during World War II, and the general pessimism emerging in this period in Europe all have considerable influence on the works examined. The first main chapter focuses on Beckett's plays Play (1963), Not I (1973), Footfalls (1976), and A Piece of Monologue (1979) and on their treatment of the afterlife motif, which is distinguishable even despite the ambiguity and minimalism of these dramatic pieces. Morality and Responsibility in the "Non-Irish" Works of Martin McDonagh

Martin McDonagh is considered to be one of the chief contemporary Irish-British playwrights, who also became an accomplished and universally acclaimed screenwriter and director of films. This BA thesis aims to explore the ethical side of his work, focusing on the "non-Irish" plays and films: namely on the plays The Pillowman (2003), Behanding in Spokane (2010) and Hangmen (2015) and on the films In Bruges (2008), Seven Psychopaths (2012) and Three Billboards Outside Ebbing, Missouri (2017). In all of the aforementioned, McDonagh focuses on diverse ethical issues such as responsibility, justice, violence, racial prejudice, redemption and other themes. The way McDonagh approaches these ethical issues is mainly through his masterfully crafted characters. Most of them have distinguishable individual moralities or moral codes and it is therefore chiefly the analysis of these characters that provides comment on ethics. Given the subjectivism expressed in the work, it becomes apparent that McDonagh's oeuvre inclines toward moral relativism, although McDonagh himself rejects ascribing to any established theory (this suggest rather a post-modern approach to ethics).
