Specific aspects of 20th century artwork of educational programme in gallery

The thesis focuses on difference between theoretical and didactical aspects of work with artwork of so-called great styles (from the Romance art until art of 19. century), modern and postmodern artefact. It surveys the current thought of the early 21st century about art and visual culture. On the basis of this thought educational programs for gallery space come up. Within the framework of the thesis, two confrontational gallery educational programs have been proposed. At the end of the thesis, based on the comparison of these programs the specific aspects of 20th century artwork of educational programme in gallery have been formulated.
ORNAMENT structure and sign

Vancl, K.: Ornament, structure and sign /MA Dissertation/ Prague 2011, Charles University in Prague, Faculty of education, Art education department The MA dissertation Ornament, structure and sign is a thoughts project, which considers its own topic based on philosophical texts from J. Derrida, M. Foucalt and J. Patočka. Ornament as a topic includes its fundamental questions, what is and how ornament appears today. Immanently there is an expression of ornament, which marks an order of repetition and an extensive reference to ornament, which masks his culture and society on the other side. Own project is focused on pass over classicism again, find original and discover new meaning of ornament in a structure and sign. True difference of expression and reference became its own detecting, following by next step to ritual meaning and from hear through ornament as repetition and reproduction sign to being in present until to deeper understanding of my-self in personal structure. Thanks to this knowledge seeing beauty of ornament seems to be more valuable. At last the project of ornament brings also theoretical basement for painting and didactic in art education. Minimal art and minimal music

Pavla Šedinová: Minimal art and minimal music Abstract: This thesis focuses on the theoretical description of minimalism in the fine arts and music. It follows the progression of minimisation in art in the first half of the twentieth century, which culminates in minimal art and minimal music, and compares its principles with multiplication in the work of Andy Warhol and Velvet Underground. At the same time the paper discusses the difference between American minimalism and its European and Czech parallels. The aim of this thesis is describing main concepts of minimalism that could be relevant for teaching purposes. The pedagogical part of the thesis focuses on the manner in which the obtained information about the fine arts and music could be utilised in teaching, particularly in Elementary Art Schools. The practical part demonstrates my own approach to minimalist principles.
Castellology as a historical-cultural inspiration source in art education

The dissertation thesis "Castellology as a historical-cultural inspiration source in art education", is dedicated to the historical discipline castellology and its developing aspects shared with art education and general education. One of the main parts of the thesis is the finding of historical connections between ancient disciplines and their intentional and functional influences in a social sense. In terms of historiography there are also some articles devoted to selected authors, whose influence was fundamental to both disciplines. The thesis surveys not only a historical point of view, but also the contemporary situation. The empirical part of the thesis is based on the theoretical part. From the information gained in terms of historiography, it was necessary to include research on a teacher's personality. The empirical research surveys the frequency and usage of themes and subjects connected with castellology in the lessons of art education by pedagogues at secondary school level in the context of their personal interest. The investigative and the theoretical parts are dedicated specifically to the Czech environment. In both cases foreign settings are only briefly covered.
Comparison between fine art and musical pieces of composer Luboš Fišer

This diploma thesis deals with comparison of five musical pieces of composer Luboš Fišer with fine arts. The thesis is divided in the two parts. In the first part we analyze general art trends in 1960s. We will make reference to the most important trends and personalities, who composed and painted in that age. We will also compare literature, fine art and music in Czech Republic in 1960s, which were the best years of Fišer's work. The second part of the thesis describes in detail five Fišer's pieces, which were composed in 1960s. These are Ruce - Hands (1961), Patnáct listů podle Dürerovy Apokalypsy - Fifteen Prints After Durer's Apocalypse (1965), Caprichos (1966), Double (1969) and Nářek nad zkázou města Ur - Lament over the Ruined Town of Ur (1970). Analysis of those pieces is based on comparison with inspiration sources (Albrecht Dürer: Apocalypse, Francisco Goya: Caprichos, old Sumer text called Lament over the Ruined Town of Ur) or it is based on comparison of Fišer's composition method with fine art piece (Double) or it is analyzed just from the semantic point of view of the piece (Hands). Goal of this work is to present composition of distinguished Czech composer Luboš Fišer to general public using analysis of his pieces. In the future, this work should be used for creation of composer's monograph...
"New" role of an object in "object art" and "art of instalation"

Submitted graduation theses offer different views of questions relating to an object (thing) in the "object art". The foundation of the "object art" brought a "new" role of an object. It does mean that the border of an art types are no more close, as well as life and art are now transparent. We can find qualitative changes in a various ways of treatment of an object. I saw these changes in according to four basic criteria: meaning, material, form and function. Another centre line of the text are overlaps of fine art and applied art, which detects common tendences in both spheres.

This graduation thesis aims to describe and reflect on the views relating to the depiction of women, female corporality, identity, sexuality and other elements related to the topic of women in contemporary Czech art. The thesis tries to explore characteristic methods of expression and topical schemes that connect contemporary works of art, and at the same time puts them into the context of art history, sociocultural theories of sex and gender, and current media production. Organic Composition in 20th century abstract art, music and literature

The Diploma thesis Organic composition in 20th century abstract Art, Music and Literature aims to explain the gradual process of liberalization of expressive means in Arts, Music and Literature during the 20th century. It describes the picture's emancipation from the dependence on objective reality, particularly V. Kandinsky's way towards abstract expressionism. In Music it traces A. Schonberg's development of the free atonality, and the stream of consciousness technique of J. Joyce in literature. The thesis' second part will be dealing with various manifestations of the organic composition after WWII- action and informal painting in the USA and Europe with its qualitative change. A musical and literal paralel to the principal of organic order will also be briefly introduced on the example of E. Brown's and J. Cage's aleatoric music and the spontaneous writing of J. Kerouac. Selected artistic personalities will be put into socio-cultural context of their time. As a result there comes a complex picture of the organic composition development process, suitable to be used as a source of information for teachers. The didactical part of the thesis will be focused on the possibility of using the given topic in the educational environment.
Peregrination as a Component of the Creation

This thesis deals with the fine art based on the experience of peregrination and walking - from plein air landscape painting to the works of action art and land art. These contemporary art movements regards the act of peregrination itself as an artwork. Didactic part of this thesis aims to employment of physical experience of walking in art education.
