Vytvoření CRM aplikace včetně API pro napojení e-shopu
BEČKA, Jan
This diploma thesis deals with the creation of a universal web CRM application for an e-shop. Part of the web application is the REST API, which is used to connect the e-shop to the CRM application. The API is connected to the Mailchimp e-commerce service, which provides newsletters and e-mail campaigns. Furthermore, the API is connected to the Mandrill service, which takes care of transactional e-mails. The web application clearly displays data from the e-shop and allows for possible manipulation with them. One of the components of the CRM application is a statistical module that evaluates the data collected through the API. The application aims to help e-shop operators gain new customers, keep existing customers and improve e-commerce promotion effectiveness. The application also mediates UAC for e-shop customers and ensures the sending of transaction e-mails from the e-shop. Part of the work is documentation that facilitates the connection of the e-shop to the CRM API.

Kucer, Maxim ; Bečka, Jan (advisor) ; Raška, Francis (referee) ; Calda, Miloš (referee)
The end of the year 2007, during the presidential campaign of Republican congressman Ron Paul, was the first time when the modern Tea Party movement appeared on American political scene. In a short period of time the Tea Party became a significant political force that endorsed many successful candidates in 2010 midterm elections and put pressure on established political parties to follow the will of the people. This thesis, written primarily as a political affairs analysis, examines origins of this grassroots movement and its impact on American politics. Put in a broader historical and socio- economic context, this work tries to create a notion of movement's probable future. The thesis is divided into three major parts. First chapter provides an insight into the historical origins of the modern Tea Party movement and also the birth of populism in the United States. The following part looks into the formation of Tea Party and describes the most important organizations connected with the movement and how they influenced its activities. The third part is focused on the most relevant Tea Party protests and in form of a case study assesses its influence on 2010 midterm elections.
An Analysis of Policy Coordination between the US and Japan towards North Korea in 2001-2009
Očková, Michaela ; Bečka, Jan (advisor) ; Sýkora, Jan (referee)
The topic of this bachelor thesis is policy coordination between the US and Japan towards North Korea during 2001-2009. The aim of the thesis is to analyze whether coordination of these policies in the time stated can be evaluated as successful. The analysis was executed on three main factors that influenced this coordination. The first factor included strategic objectives of Japan and the United States that both countries wanted to achieve vis-à-vis North Korea. The second factor was represented by the abduction of Japanese citizens during 1970s and 1980s and removing North Korea from the list of state sponsors of terrorism. The third factor included specific political environment in each of the countries - meaning dualism in George W. Bush's policy and Japan policy officers' fear of diplomatic abandonment by the US and disappointment in actions of the United States. Based on the analysis of the influence of these three factors on allies' policy coordination, the thesis concludes that the policy coordination can be considered successful. The main reason why the coordination was successful in spite of numerous disagreements were common strategic objectives and the fact that both countries were willing to cooperate on them as on the primary mean for successful and effective policy coordination.
U.S.-China Cooperation During Six Party Talks
Hladíková, Kristýna ; Sehnálková, Jana (advisor) ; Bečka, Jan (referee)
This Master thesis deals with the Sino-American cooperation during the Six-Party Talks between 2003 and 2009 and it aims to analyze both the main interests and objectives, with which the US and China came in the negotiations, and the problematic issues between the US and China, most critically complicating a progress in the negotiations. Although both countries cordially declared common interest in denuclearization of the Korean Peninsula, their real order of priorities within the Talks greatly differed. Contrary to the United States, China prioritized stability of the region to its denuclearization and was trying very hard to moderate the harsh US approach towards the DPRK's nuclear activities. In this way, it was, however, practically impossible to effectively force the North to abandon its nuclear program, which was something unconditionally demanded by the United States. What is more, the long-lasting political and strategic alliance between Beijing and Pyongyang considerably complicated the problem. In consequence, any statements or resolutions, which were adopted during the Talks, lacked sufficient strength and did not force North Korea to start dismantlement of its nuclear program. Thus, the US-China cooperation was not very fruitful. Based on these findings, the thesis concludes that the...

The role of the media before and during the Iraq war in 2003 in the United States still resonates topic. Journalists are often criticized for failing to fulfill their roles and violations of journalistic standards. This thesis deals with the balance of articles in two national newspapers, The New York Times and The Washington Post, in the period before the invasion of Iraq, specifically from the August 2002 until the invasion on March 19, 2003. The thesis is a quantitative content analysis of the articles from the front pages of these newspapers. The main hypothesis of the research is that, according to criticism that the media received, there should be more sources supportive of the administration of George W. Bush and almost no opposition. The thesis examines, whether journalists followed the norm of balance of sources, or whether is the criticism justified. The result is, that despite the lack of opposition on the domestic political scene, journalist found the opposition sources abroad. Reporting of these two newspapers were, in terms of used sources, balanced.

The Approach of the First and Second Obama Administration to Israel: A Comparison Between 2009 and 2014
Čurdová, Markéta ; Bečka, Jan (advisor) ; Anděl, Petr (referee)
This thesis aims to compare the approach of the first and second Obama admi- nistrations to Israel between years 2009 and 2014. It analyzes American foreign policy with respect to Israel through several criteria including the process of conflict resolution, Obama's rhetoric and number of visits into the region made by secretaries of state. The work also observes what effect the Arab spring and the Iranian nuclear program had on American policy towards Israel. By comparing these criteria the author identifies the main differences in the ap- proach to Israel. The thesis verifies the hypothesis that the first Obama admi- nistration accepted pro-Palestinian approach with regard to resolution of the Israeli-Palestinian conflict and that it was willing to act more independently on Israel with regard to geopolitical development in the region. The thesis an- swers four questions. How did the approach of the two Obama administrations to Israel-Palestinian conflict change? How did the geopolitical events in the re- gion affect the approach to Israel? Is it possible to observe an exertion of higher pressure on Tel Aviv to make compromises? Does the American perspective of Israel as an ally change in the long run?
