Brázdová, Zuzana ; Manová, Ludmila (referee) ; Menšíková, Naděžda (advisor) ; Šuhajda, Karel (advisor)
The subject of this bachelor thesis is a new building solution of a multifunctional house foundedon the corner of the streets Táborská and Letní. Topography of the building balances the height differences of the surrounding buildings and while its shape follows the shape of the corner of the plot it also creates the internal court area. It is a four-storied building with one overground floor which consists of garages and technical facilities of the building. The overground floor is functionally divided in two parts. The commercial part – bookstore with literary café, stationary and tobacconist’s – is based on the needs of high school students who attend the high school situated on the opposite corner of the street. The second part consists of ten housing unit in total from which four are duplex. The supporting structure is based on reinforced concrete prefabricated skeleton with pre-stressed ceiling panels. The substructure consists of strip footings, precast calix foots and base thresholds. The roof is designed as flat and single casing. An important element of the object are perforated stainless steel sliding panels which fulfills the function of blinds and match the character of the industrial part of the city at the same time.
Restoration of limestone in Grygov
Otépka, Petr ; Mikeš, Stanislav (referee) ; Guzdek, Adam (advisor) ; Šuhajda, Karel (advisor)
The topic of my bachelor thesis was to prepare a documentation for the building permit and in part C a documentation for the construction. The documentation is based on an architectural study from the course “AG034 – Monument Restauration Studio”. The topic of the course was to think and to suggest a solution for the restauration of the former lime works building in Grygov that had lost its original use. Now it is falling into disrepair. Fortunately, the association “Za živou vápenku” is trying to bring the object back to life. After analysing the external influences, the needs of the inhabitants of Grygov, the requirements of the association and after preliminary construction-technical survey, I came to the following concept. If I kept the industrial character and especially the Genius loci of the building, the operational costs would be too high and, in the future, it would probably start to decay again. As a suitable solution, I suggest creating a multifunctional object. It will be used to the full in the summer and only occasionally in the winter. It means that the interior of the building will be divided into two parts: fully heated and locally tempered. This way will also help to sensitively solve humidity in the building by the method of ventilated air gaps. The multifunctional building will include exhibition spaces, a multifunctional hall and other multifunctional rooms, small refreshments in the bistro, distillery and sufficient hygienic facilities. A special innovation will be the conversion of the chimney into a lookout tower. In spirit of pluralism, I examine the quality, monumental values, individual layers and elements for suitable methods of restoration. Then I highlight the best of all the examined parts and bring them closer to future visitors. The experience of this industrial space will lie in being itself. This object will get ambition to become new place where people will meet and its existence will be there for future generations.

Prokopová, Kateřina ; Žáková, Dagmar (referee) ; Májek, Jan (advisor) ; Šuhajda, Karel (advisor)
The subject of the bachelor thesis is the elaboration of the pre-created architectural study into project documentation including architectural and technical details. The object is the reconstruction of the building in the city center of Brno - Central on the street Kobližná. The building is situated in the historical heart of the city and lies in a slightly sloping terrain. It is a 7th floor building with one underground floor. This is a design of a new atelier for students of stage design, especially workshops, laboratories, classrooms and studios of individual years. There is also a JAMU Rectorate, a public café and a shop of modeling needs. We think that the object is protected by the monument, which is why the mass and the original character of the building are preserved. The major changes will be in the layout, most partitions will be drained and the building will be broken down according to current needs and requirements.
Multifunctional Building Brno

The object of this bachelor thesis is new building solution of a multifunctional house founded on the corner of the streets Táborská and Letní in the district Židenice of city Brno. The design is based on using a vacant lot, urban regulations, the needs for creation of student housing and the needs of residents of the particular district. The form of the object is designed in a way which abides the mass structure of the territory and also the spatial plan of city of Brno. The main aim was to use the vacant lot in the best way possible. The suggested object is divided in two functional units which this particular locality lacked and are based on structural possibilities. The public unit situated on the outer part of the object has the form of fully glazed facade, whereas the part intended for housing can be identified for the use of company Intecon galvanized copper plated trapezodial steel sheet residential containers. The area of the first floor parterre is lowered by one meter below the ground level because of a sports center with a bouldering wall. Other overground storeys consisting of residential containers operate as a place for sudent housing. Individual apartments are formed by the combination of two student rooms. The kitchen and dining room are located in the common areas on each floor of the building. The idea of materially spatial resolution is based on rotation of the cuboid residential containers by ninety degrees which allows them to fit together in a way that creates an atrium in the middle. The atrium and the sports areas are therefore lit by the accomodation areas.

Cheryn, Denis ; Mikeš, Stanislav (referee) ; Guzdek, Adam (advisor) ; Šuhajda, Karel (advisor)
The subject of the bachelor thesis is the reconstruction, with an emphasis on preserving its original character, of a former inn in the village of Zlobice in the Kroměříž region. The project is based on the subject AG034 - Studio of Architectural Design IV. - Restoration of Monuments. The cultural house was built in the 1920s. Originally it had only the 1st floor and served as a local inn. Later, the building was rebuilt into a two-storey social house. At the turn of the 20th and 21st century, a part with social facilities and an apartment for the housekeeper was added to the building. During this period, the 2nd floor was also rebuilt and three apartments were built here, one of which is original and in very good condition. Most of the window and door panels are preserved in the house. They are also preserved and are valuable floors made of concrete tiles and terrazzo. The extension, which was added to the building in the 1990s, is disruptive and suitable for a complete reconstruction. The aim of the proposal is to renovate the existing cultural house, which is supplemented by an extension in which the technical background of the municipality and the new building of the municipal office are located. Furthermore, the picnic area, which is rebuilt into a place suitable for feasts and other social events. Emphasis was placed on the best possible use of the land, the completion of the courtyard according to the structure of the village and the logical arrangement of individual operations. The forecourt of the social house could serve as a village square, as the municipality currently lacks this public space. The idea was to sensitively restore the historic part of the building, which houses a ballroom, a hall, a bar with facilities, a multi-purpose room, a talking room and the second floor of this building consists of two apartments. Part of the extension and the building of the municipal office is set into the slope, which enabled the use of a green counter roof i

My Bachelor projekt solves new construction of Residential buildings on Klíčova street, Tržní and Hladíkova street in Brno. Objekts form the street near four/lane road. Along with office buildings create a block of houses that responds to surrounding development. New residential buildings are divided into four sections and each contains eight apartments that are connected with the underground garage. The green roof create [semi]private space for apartment buildings. Projekt puts emphasis on the symmetry of mass. This symmetry is repeated in all four sections of residential buildings. Together they creates a street line. The main motive of the North facade is a bridge that contains a vertical communication with glass section in the center. The South facade is shaped by  bow windows accented with white color. They create contrast to the gray color of the building. The horizontal shape of balconies ensures the mass integrity of all sections.
