Child anxiety and its manifestations in drawing a tree

This diploma work is intent on the mapping of child anxiety probléme and its possibly manifestations in drawing a tree. Introductory chapters deal with basic definition of anxiety, symptoms and biological basis of anxiety. The description of an..xicty cvolution during scparate age periods follow, including brief charak'terizations of separate anxiety disorders, considering speciťic child anxiety disordcrs. In conncction thcrc is signification of child drawing and its contribution to diagnostics mentioned. At the end of theoretical part there is a high consideration on description of chosen method, i.e. the test of drawing a tree. Practical part of this diploma work is devoted this sfere. I intent on exploitation drawing a tree as possible screening method for detection of specific marks, which could enable us find the presence of anxiety out.

Personal assistance in supported living for people with learning disability

The main topíc of this thesis is assistance in supported living for people with mental retardation. The theoretical part of this essay defines these concepts in the context of the new trends in the care for people with mental retardation. Then we focus on persona! assistent himself; we describe his personality, demands on his professional skills and his approach towards the clients. Then there are introduced some psychological aspects of assistance. We pay attention on motives for this helping profession, on burn-out syndrom and ethical aspects of assistanť s work. The aim of the practical part is to explore the current situation in assistance in Czech republic. The goal of my investigation was to find out using mainly qualitative research methods, who is the typical assistant in supprorted living, why did he choose his profession and how does he experience his work. The results pointed out, that there is a large specific group of young women working in this profession as well the lack of other age groups of assistants and the lack male assistants. The most frequented motives for assistance are the posibility of using the skills obtained by previous education and experience, the meaningfullness of this work and the wish to provide high quality service for mentally handicaped people. Family constellations of Bert Hellinger - therapeutic and consulting method

Family constellations is a way of dealing with clienť s problems or issues, which can be used with individua! or group of clients. Author of this method is Bert Hellinger, german psychoterapist and priest. This phenomenological method of work has many similarities to several famous methods and approaches, for example Satir' s constellations, Moreno's psychodrama, Rieger' s island offamily. Iťs usually presented as controversial method. We tried to present its philosophy, its procedure and signify its position in Czech Republic. We wanted to :find out, which psychologicals or therapeutics phenomena can be seen during its process. Main importance of this work is in presentation of subjective evaluation and personal experiences of people, who actually attempted this method, to help them with their problems and personal development. Based on interviews with them we were looking for what does this method brings to clients, whether does it help, whether it is according to their opinion effective or not.

Handicap in the context of ressilience

Resilience je neopominutelmi zivotni realita, vsudypritomna v Bibli, v pohadkach a legendach vsech kultur. Ve francouzské psychologii se jedna o velmi aktualni a diskutovanou problematiku v poslednich sedmi letech. V anglosaském svete je znama o neco déle. V Ceské republice zustava resilience okrajovym tématem, predevsim z duvodu jazykové hariéry pramenu. Profesor Matejcek uvedl v roce 1998 tento koncept do ceské psychologie kratkym clankem v psychologickém casopise ,Ceskoslovenska psychologie", rocnik XLII, cislo 2, 1998, s. 97-105. Resilienci bychom mohli definovat spolecne s M. Rutterem jako:Zto : « Resilience je fenomén, ktery se objevuje u mladych jedincu, vyvijejicich se zdarne i pres to, ie proiili takovy stres, ktery pro beznou populaci pfedstavuje zavainé riziko negativnich dusledku. » v nasi rigor6zni praci bychom chteli prestavit tento koncept, jeho historii, definice a nektera prakticka vyuziti. Zamerili jsme se predevsim na studii resilience jedincu s pohybovym postizenim nasledkem urazu nebo nemoci. Work with children from alcoholic families, acces of gestalt therapy

This thesis focuses on the topic of children from families of alcoholics and ways to work with them using components of the gestalt therapy. Alcoholism is a disease that negatively influences the healthy psychosocial development of children in many ways. At home children learn model of how to approach life and they accept it as a standard for their own lives. For them it is normal to resolve problems through the use of alcohol, not to respect the needs of their friends, families and of themselves. At the same time children lose their ability to realize what they feel and they just resign themselves to the satisfaction of their natural childish needs in the stressed, often violent, family atmosphere without borders. Children who live with an alcoholic parent, in the long term, have problems with their behaviour, borders, emotions, relationships and self-acceptance. The psychological help for these children can relieve their actual tension. It can also convey concrete experience in relationships and in their acceptance by an adult. Gestalt therapy teaches children how to realize their needs and feelings again. It also offers clarification and efficiency of the manner that they enter contact with themselves and with others. Otcovství je velké téma, které se týká doslova každého člověka. Každý z nás otce má, každý muž se jím může stát, mnoho mužů jím je. Rozdíl je "pouze" v tom, jaké kvality je otcovství, které jsme zažili. Do jaké míry využil muž možnosti otcovské role, do jaké míry naplnil její úkoly. Kvalita otcovství, které jsme jako děti zažili, má dalekosáhlé důsledky v našem životě. Větší, než si běžně uvědomujeme. Kvalita otcovství, které muž dítěti nabízí, značně ovlivňuje ijeho samotného. Už proto má smysl se otcovstvím zabývat a ujasnit si, jakého charakteru jsou a jaký význam mají účinky zažitého otcovství. Které oblasti osobnosti a života člověka otec zasahuje a do jaké míry? Zabývat se otcovstvím právě teď, když probíhá stírání hranic mezi manželskými a rodičovskými postavami, má smysl. Uzákonění registrovaného partnerství homosexuálů je vstupem do veřejné diskuse o tom, zda by mohly homosexuální páry nakonec také vychovávat (adoptovat, umělým oplodněním získávat) děti. Jak budeme moct do této diskuse přispět, pokud si neujasníme, čím je otcovství charakterizováno, zda musí být vázáno na postavu mužskou, nebo zda jde jen o ustálený pojem, který nepopisuje nic specifického, a dobrým otcem může být stejně tak maskulinně se profilující lesba? Psychodiagnostics for preschool age: Vienna developmental test

Při volbě tématu pro rigorózní práci jsem vycházela ze své diplomové práce zaměřené na oblast dětské psychodiagnostiky. V mém rozhodnutí mne podpořil mimo jiné i fakt, že diplomová práce byla v roce oceněna 2004 cenou pana profesora Matějčka za nejlepší diplomovou práci v oboru dětské psychologie. Práci jsem se tedy rozhodla rozšířit a doplnit. Řídila jsem se při tom jistě oprávněnými výtkami, které považovaly diplomovou práci za příliš praktickou, bez teoretického ukotvení. V rigorózní práci bylo použito množství cizojazyčných, převážně anglicky psaných pramenů, které jsem měla možnost čerpat především z Národní knihovny v Londýně. Text byl tak doplněn o cenné informace týkající se předškolního věku i diagnostiky v tomto období. Kromě metod používaných v anglicky a německy mluvících zemích jsem se snažila doplnit i spektrum diagnostických nástrojů pro předškolní věk používaných v českých zemích. Často se zde pak nabízely úvahy nakolik historický a kulturní vývoj v té dané zemi ovlivňuje úroveň vývoje dětí a potažmo vývojovou psychodiagnostiku. Jedním z důvodů proč jsem se pustila do převodu diagnostické metody z cizího jazykového prostředí do našich podmínek, byla možnost se tohoto převodu účastnit od samotných počátků. The diagnosis of Asperger syndrome: a pilot study of Czech version ASSQ and ASAS

In a theoretical part of the present study we describe history, epidemiology, ethiology, diagnostic classification, diagnostic criteria and clinical features of Asperger syndrome, comorbidity, theory of autism, differential diagnosis and diagnostic methods for the Asperger syndrome. A practical part of this study examines the validity and reliability of two diagnostic schedule - ASSQ - High-functioning Autism Spectrum Screening Questionnaire/Asperger Syndrome Screening Questionnaire - and ASAS - Australian Scale for Asperger Syndrome. ASSQ and ASAS are checklists for a completion on by lay informants when assessing symptoms characteristic of Asperger syndrome and other high-functioning autism spectrum disorders in children and adolescents with a normal intelligence. Data for the parent and teacher ratings in the samples (sample AUT comprised 42 6- to 16-years-old children (39 boys, 3 girls) with Asperger syndrome or high-functioning autism, the sample LMD comprised 143 cases (130 boys, 13 girls) with ADHD and leaming disorders and the control group of 163 participants (147 boys, 16 girls) from mainstream schools without any formal diagnosis) are presented along with various measures of reliability and validity.
