Dědič, Ondřej ; Dvořáková, Michaela (advisor) ; Zicha, Zbyněk (referee)
The aim of the diploma thesis entitled Political participation in citizenship education at the second stage of basic education is, based on a comparison of curricular documents, to identify the topics and outcomes that will lead to the promotion of political participation, to carry out a didactic analysis of selected political topics and to propose a suitable didactic procedure for teaching these topics in citizenship education classes at the second level of primary schools and in the lower grades of multi-year grammar schools. The presented procedure is based on the three-phase model of E-U-R learning and combines different methods, organizational forms and models of teaching. The emphasis is on working with authentic texts and the development of key competences according to the Framework Curriculum for Primary Schools. At the same time, taking into account the conditions and trends at the time of writing the diploma thesis, each lesson is designed with the possibility of moving the teaching to a distance form. The starting point for why this thesis is being written in the first place and why its objectives are set in this way is an analysis of research on political participation in selected countries. The research findings point to some problematic places in the teaching of citizenship education...

Thinking in Hannah Arendt's conception
Škardová, Michaela ; Zicha, Zbyněk (advisor) ; Rybák, David (referee)
The thesis is an essayistic exploration of Hannah Arendt's thinking, with the central aim of naming the specifics of this thinker's thought, her sources of inspiration and her conception of thinking itself. The thesis attempts to clarify in what ways Arendt's way of thinking may inspire. The starting point of the thesis is her conception of the vita activa and the vita contemplativa, where the distinction between these two lives serves as a starting point for exploring the soil of the spirit. In relation to spiritual activities, the main purpose of the thesis is then to clarify the uniqueness of inquiry in Hannah Arendt's conception and to highlight the inherent nature of thought. The thesis outlines why it is important to inquire after thought itself and suggests the grounds for why Hannah Arendt acts like that. The thesis seeks to show how we are in the world through thinking and how practical reason is the defining factor in today's society. The thesis culminates in the importance of questioning in the process of education. KEYWORDS Hannah Arendt, thinking, vita activa, vita contemplativa, action, speech, practical thinking, meaning, conscience, questioning
The Postmodernism as a Mistrust of the Metanarrative
Kolář, Matěj ; Zicha, Zbyněk (advisor) ; Hauser, Michael (referee)
This thesis is concerned with the postmodern era, mainly from the viewpoint of postmodern philosophy. It includes the thoughts of Jean Francoise Lyotard, who is considered to be the founder of modern philosophy, about the mistrust of the contemporary society of metanarrative. The thesis also focuses on the ongoing discussion of whether the use of the word "postmodernism" is legitimate and what the concept even means in general. That is the reason why a significant part of this thesis elaborates on the genealogy of the word, focusing on the role of art, which attempts to explain the main principles of the world that we live in. Lyotard's omnipresent motif of mistrust of metanarrative has become so significant as to appear regularly in the works of today's philosophers and sociologists. Therefore, this thesis looks at the continuation of such a motif. The last part of the thesis introduces the Czech perception of the postmodern, again incorporating the theme of mistrust of metanarrative or, in other words, great stories. This thesis aims to analyze texts written by two global authors (W. Welsch, Z. Bauman) and two Czech authors (V. Bělohradský, M. Hauser) in order to observe the continuation of Lyotard's thesis. The analysis will allow the reader to grasp the current era as a postmodern one. KEYWORDS...
