Identification of microbial pigments in evaporites using Raman spectroscopy: implications for astrobiology

Raman spectroscopy is a powerful tool for identification both inorganic and organic compounds including microbial biomolecules. Together with the fact, that it is considered to be the important nondestructive instrument for use on Mars within future robotic missions, it is necessary to assess its capabilities in scenarios relevant for both Martian and terrestrial conditions. In this work, the potential of Raman spectrometry was tested - including both bench-top laboratory systems as well as portable counterparts - to detect traces of life within evaporitic matrices through biomolecular identification. Due to their chemical and physical nature resulting in optical properties, pigments are important organic compounds in Raman spectroscopic analysis using visible excitation. Hence in this work we have focused on the Raman spectroscopic identification of pigments as biomarkers with relevance for investigation of life in both extreme terrestrial and potentially extraterrestrial environments. Results of methodical work are presented in Appendices I to III, dealing particularly with β-carotene as a model carotenoid pigment. The concentration limits of this biomarker in three different evaporitic matrices (halite, gypsum and epsomite) have been determined for artificially prepared powdered mixtures alone...

This bachelor thesis entitled "An Examination and proposal of changes in an informative system of stock control in a small company" proposes structure of optimal information system for stock management of small locksmith company called ZÁMEK. First part of thesis examine former information system. Second part introduces and evaluate commercially available information systems for stock control which are suitable for the company's needs. The thesis proposes information system for stock management, which will lead to improvements of in-house processes and will increase competitive advantage.

Mechanical design of rotary satellite antenna polarization system

The aim of this bachelor thesis is mechanical design of rotary satellite antenna polarization system. It is a part of a mobile satellite antenna positioned on the roof rack of a passenger car. Device must be designed to achieve precise positioning and smooth running. It must also resist moisture and temperature fluctuations. For this application, there has been selected and developed solution with toothed belt. The thesis includes a selection algorithm of drive, belt and bearings. The achieved polarization angle is 180 °. The results of this paper can be used to produce a functional mobile satellite antenna polarization.

Modelling Gateway Redundancy Protocols

This master's thesis report deals with the theoretical analysis of FHRP. First Hop Redundancy Protocols are network protocols which are designed to protect the default gateway and also to ensure high availability in the network by using redundancy. The reader becomes familiar with protocols VRRP, HSRP and GLBP and also learn the way how to configure them to on real Cisco devices. It also describes how implement VRRP int the simulated enviroment of OMNeT++. The result of the implementation is verified in the test topologies.

Kytice - light installation

My thesis is based on a reflection of light installation inspired by Karel Jaromir Erben's collection of ballads called Kytice. I'm explaining and looking closely at selected elements from Kytice which determined my way of thinking. My goal is to find main sources of inspiration that had influenced me throughout my work, explain the dramaturgic composition of the installation as a whole and individually analyze each ballad represented in the installation.

Influence and impact of digital film distribution on art-house cinemas

Digitalization of cinemas brings the biggest change in the distribution of films in the last decades and its impact affects all cinemas worldwide. The new programming options, extended range of alternative content and deeper dramaturgy are among other news which have been brought by digitalization. Are these new opportunities sufficient to make the classic and art-house cinemas competitive with multiplex?
The content of this work is analyse of the art-house cinemas in the Czech Republic. It explores the impact of digital distribution of films on these cinemas. Financing and technological changes which cinemas had to go through during the process of digitalization is the main focus of the work. The overall evaluation of the impact of digitization on the art-house cinemas is based on a comparison of art-house cinemas and their data relating to the digitalization and results of the questionnaire which has been sent to selected cinemas.
The last part contains a brief comparison of the process of digitization of cinemas in the Czech Republic, The UK and Slovakia.

Digitizing of public screennings

The master diploma thesis ?Digitizing of Public Screenings? deals with the forthcoming digitisation of film distribution. It tries to monitor the present ?transitional? period and to describe the course of the imminent change in the upcoming years. Its aim is to familiarise the readers with the basic concepts used in the digital cinema in the most comprehensible way. It compares the digital and classical film projection while describing their technological and economical advantages and disadvantages. It describes technical parameters of the currently available digital projection devices, the likely development thereof, and the new 3D digital technologies. It deals with new norms imposed by the American initiative ?Digital Cinema Initiatives?, and the French ?AFNOR?. Finally, it compares the already functioning transition from the classical film distribution towards digital forms in the USA, trying to present possible transition models for Europe, where conditions are different.

Business model - HUB Prague

Social business is type of business, which primary objective is very different from the profit-driven business. Social business objective is to create an added value to society and achieve at least some profit, which serves as a means to achieve this goal. For my thesis I have chosen a business model analysis of the new organization Hub Prague, which is a representative of a social entrepreneurship and which has entered Czech market in 2010. I have examined mainly its income and expenditures and the consequent ability to survive in the future. I have chosen this topic because I believe the social business as a whole new kind of business has the ability not only to succeed in the market, but bring a positive impact and add value to people in its neighborhood as well. According to the analysis performed I think that Hub owners should pay attention to cash flow management to ensure sufficient funds to run the business. To ensure Hub's Access it should focus its marketing activities on right communication of its mission towards its potential and current members and monitor its capacity constraints.

Balanced Scorecard: Theory and Application in Czech environment

Cílem diplomové práce na téma Balanced Scorecard: Teorie a aplikace v českém prostředí je poskytnout věcně a časově strukturovaný popis zavádění metody Balanced Scorecard do praxe, a to na příkladu českých hypotetických společností, které se rozhodly najmout poradce, aby jim s tímto projektem pomohl. Tento model byl zvolen z následujících důvodů: ? při zavádění Balanced Scorecard do praxe české střední a velké společnosti dávají přednost spolupráci s poradcem, která má charakter projektu; ? projektový přístup k zavádění Balanced Scorecard do praxe krok po kroku je názorný; ? umožňuje rychlou orientaci v dokumentu, což ocení čtenář, kterého některé procesní či věcné projektové kroky nezajímají; ? umožňuje přehledné využití příkladů, kterých bylo hojně použito ke zvýšení názornosti a koherence textu. Aby i čtenář, pro kterého je metoda Balanced Scorecard úplně nová, byl schopen pochopit souvislosti v kapitole aplikační, která naplňuje zvolené cíle diplomové práce, je v první kapitole uveden krátký teoretický výklad tématu Balanced Scorecard. Druhým cílem této diplomové práce je popsat praktické propojení hodnotového pohledu na společnost s konceptem Balanced Scorecard. Je ukázáno, jak lze přehledně propojit hodnotovou mapu společnosti se strategickou mapou a integrovat do nich prvky Balanced Scorecard. Největším přínosem tohoto propojení je: ? jeho názornost, která umožňuje na jednom místě názorně zobrazit tyto tři koncepty; ? ujištění, že společnost při volbě strategického zaměření zvážila všechny typické oblasti tvorby hodnoty; ? znázornění vyladění strategických aktivit společnosti (tj. cíle, měřítka, aktivity k naplnění cílů a propojení na procesy jsou ve vzájemném souladu). Téma zavedení Balanced Scorecard do praxe jsem si vybral nejen pro jeho zajímavost a významnost, ale také protože jsem chtěl propojit své omezené praktické zkušenosti s Balanced Scorecard s teorií a metodikou tak, aby vznikl dokument, podle něhož bude čtenář schopen pochopit význam a použití metody Balanced Scorecard jak v teorii tak především pro praxi.
