School preparedness support for children with postponement of school attendance

The theme of bachelor's work is School preparedness support for children with postponement of school attendance. The work is divided into theoretical and practical part. The theoretical part deals with the period of preschool age and its characteristics. Further, are defined the concepts of school readiness, school readiness, enrolment in the first year of nursery school, postponement of school attendance and its reasons. It is described and analysed pedagogical diagnostics, its methods and support options for children with the postponement of school attendance in kindergarten. The practical part is realized in the research the investigation of the possible ways of pedagogical diagnostics to verify the assumptions of the child before commencement of compulsory schooling. Part of the work are three case studies of children with delayed compulsory school attendance, in which are taken into account, the proposed recommendation of the pedagogical-psychological counseling for the creation of the plans of the pedagogical support, which are directed to the overall development of the child.
Wanda method as a tool of the learning organization in primary school

This diploma theses aims to examine the benefits of the method Wanda as a tool of the learning organization in primary school. The theoretical part focuses on the professional development of teachers, deals with the concept of learning organization and conditions of its application in primary schools and describes Wanda method and its use in teachers collective. The research part presents information about Wanda seminars for primary school teachers obtained from three sources - observation, questionnaire surveys and interviews with participants. It examines benefits and challenges of the method in specific cases and besides the positives and the pitfalls of the method it studies the conditions necessary for successful completion of Wanda seminars. The opinions of primary education teachers and students of Teacher Training for Primary Schools (I.ST) on quality of pedagogical practices.

The Master's Thesis is focused on the opinions of students and teachers from clinical schools about pedagogical practices during studying Teacher Training for Primary Schools (I.ST). The aim of this thesis is, based on gained information from primary education teachers and students of The Faculty of Education of the Charles University in Prague, to find out opinions from the subjects, possibly find some suggestions how to improve these practices. The Master's Thesis is divided into theoretical part and practical part. In the theoretical part I give a definition of basic terms related to practices, clinic schools, mentoring and the study of Teacher Training for Primary Schools (I.ST). The main point of the practical part is quantity research represented by questionnaire which concludes open-ended and close- ended questions. Education in values by Persona Dolls method

This diploma thesis deals with the Persona Dolls method, which consciously works with prejudices. The theoretical part is focused on the mapping of the changes in the current education that has been practiced in Czech education since 1989. The curriculum documents, which regulate education, have been developed. The second chapter concerns the area of values for which school can be the stimulating environment in which they can evolve. The central part of the theoretical part is the chapter dealing with the Persona Dolls method. It focuses on the theoretical starting points of the method, the goals, the method of working with the method, presents the conditions for realization, then the pitfalls that can prevent the effectiveness of working with the method. The last chapters of the theoretical part are devoted to linking the Persona Dolls and Framework Educational Programs, especially in the area of key competencies. It then deals with the context of the method and values of society. Teacher and the teacher's assistant's mutual cooperation in the first year of studies at primary school

The topic of this dissertation is the case study which is concerned with the cooperation of the teacher and the teacher's assistant in the process of education of the first class' pupils at primary school. Theoretic part is collected knowledge from the professional literature. There are described possibilities of pupils' support at the beginning of the compulsory education and the role of the teacher's assistant under the terms of this support. The text also includes the position of the teacher's assistant in legislation and the work of personal assistant. I paid attention to ethical and other problems which are connected with the work of teacher's assistant. In empirical part is processed the case study of the first class at quite common elementary school. It was caught the progress and the changes of teacher and teacher's assistant's cooperation in the term of one year. Collecting of the information was made by the form of observation, field research, dialogues and questionnaires. The cooperation between teacher and the teacher's assistant was not under way I expected. I think that on the basis of acquired experience the teacher's assistant did not pay attention to pupils enough time. This Master's thesis deals with homeschooling in primary school students in the Czech Republic. The theoretical part provides information of homeschooling as an alternative to fulfilling compulsory school attendance. This thesis is answering questions about the history of homeschooling in the Czech Republic, its development in our country, the way home education works, what are the reasons for choosing home education, what are its positives, negatives and risk factors. And in the end the thesis is also concentrating on homeschooling in secondary school or information how home education works in the world. The research section deals with two areas. The first area is devoted to quantitative research - a survey among students of teaching. The second area is high-quality research - this area deals with case studies. Application of the Innovative Teaching Methods in Education at Primary School

My master's thesis with a title Possible Applications of Innovative Methods for Reading Literacy Development in Elementary School is aimed at the critical thinking methods. These methods lead pupils in elementary school to a development of reading literacy. The theoretical part of my work provides an overview of the curriculum reform and the following changes in learning. The terms teacher, innovation, pedagogical constructivism and reading literacy are explained. The key competences of primary education are described, because their development and fulfilment are important goals of education. Furthermore, the educational programme Reading & Writing for Critical Thinking and the three-phase model of learning with its phases learning, awareness and evocation with emphasis on methods supporting a reading literacy of pupils are narrated. The methods of critical thinking supporting reading literacy of pupils are examined in the practical part of my work. The action research with help of an observation method is used in order to evaluate the impact of the critical thinking methods on the development of key competences and level of reading literacy of pupils. In the theoretical part of the thesis I am going to focus on the theoretical problems of teaching practice at universities and its role in the preparation of future teachers. In the practical part I will use questionnaires and interviews to seek features of a good faculty school, and try to specify areas that demand more support to faculty schools from the Faculty of Education. This diploma thesis treats of Célestin Freineťs pedagogy and it focuses on the technique of interscholastic correspondence. The theoretical part briefly characterizes the features of Freineťs pedagogy, describes the conception of the particular subjects and selected techniques. It tries to indicate the possibility of their application in Czech elementary schools within the framework of contemporary transformation process of the Czech education systém. Further, it confronts the existing Czech projects concerning correspondence with the interscholastic exchange technique by Freinet. The practical part describes and reflects experience gained during the practice at a foreign school of the Freineťs type and it also deals with the acquisition of the possible incorporation of the correspondence technique in the education in the current Czech schools.
Readiness of Children to Start School in Cesky Brod Region

The diploma thesis concerns with the school readiness issue in region Cesky Brod. High number of children with compulsory school attendance postponement resists these days, which the government decided to solve with compulsory preprimary year implementation. When framework education programs came into force, schools drew up their own school education programs. The basis, with which they enter the school, diversified. The goal of the thesis is to determine the areas in which most children had problems during the first grade enrollments in Cesky Brod region. The readiness of children to enter school is studied also from the parents' and the teachers' point of view and their points of view are compared. The research combines three methods - observation, questionnaire and case history. For the research during the first grades enrollments the observation was chosen. On the basis of the theory the areas for observation were determined and assessed according to the chosen assessment criteria. The points of view of the parents and teachers were examined in the questionnaire. The areas in which the most children had difficulties during the first grades enrollments were graphomotory and speech development. The parents and the teachers also share this opinion.
