Diploma thesis "Comparative analysis of news transmission of televisions Z1 and ČT24" deals with comparing the function and system of two czech news televisions. It compares the differences in their role in media scene of Czech republic, technologies and production. The comparative part of the thesis confronts each one of the evening transmissions in light of selecting the news, prosessing, compilation of the trasmission and the role of the anchormen during the presentation.
Ethical aspects of usage of tapping and hidden camera in TV news and publicistics

The core of the thesis includes both description and analysis of ethical aspects of tapping and hidden camera in TV news and publicistics. The subject of the analysis consists of selected reports based on secret recording. These reports were broadcast either by Czech Television or TV Nova between the years 2006 and 2008. The main focus is dedicated to two investigative reports, which are significant for the development of tapping and hidden camera reporting in Czech Republic. The thesis aims to answer two fundamental questions. Under what circumstances are tapping and hidden camera ethically acceptable and secondly whether it is possible to define the border between ethical and non-ethical approach to it.

Bachelor's thesis "The Czech Televison Regional News Service between Years 2006 and 2009" deals with the regional news service of Czech television. The author conducted on the grounds of research samples a qualitative content analysis. The study focuses on the general content of the reports. Firstly, the author describes the form of these particular reports and of other news in terms of their division, themes, the methods of processing information and structure. The differences between these reports together with the results of the analysis are presented in the concluding chapter.

The Contemporary Television News in the Main Broadcast of CT24 and Z1

In this Bachelor thesis the author deals with the contemporary television news, concretely in the main broadcast of Czech news television stations ČT24 and Z1. The method used is comparative analysis in the period of November 2008. The objective of the thesis is to find out how the news stations processed the home and world affairs and how they formed the news in their main broadcast. The author also tries to describe new trends which appear in the news broadcast. The news stations in Czech Republic do not have a long tradition. They work up also thanks to the new technologies. The television stations react to them and optimize their broadcast to them. That is why it is interesting to follow how the news broadcast is changigng.
Adjusting the television picture and sound in newscast to make it more difficult to identify people (newscast of Česká televize, TV Nova and FTV Prima)

The Diploma Thesis deals - within its theoretical part - with situations in TV news, which require conversion of audiovisual content to achieve involved person's anonymity. Ethics codes of analysed television stations are major factor in this part, also included as secondary support relavant studies, reference books, laws and edicts. Conversion of audiovisual content is necessary - speaking of victims of crime (mainly violent or sexual offense) and theirs relatives, children, suspects and theirs relatives, anonymous sources, some criminalists or other vulnerable persons. Practical part of the thesis applies gained informations to analyse audio-visual recordings - broadcasted by Czech TV (Česká televize), TV Nova and FTV Prima. Study reflected diffrences between conversion of same situations and same persons. Study also reflected some ethically controversial moments. Several reporters gived an interview to comment selected news.
Karel Caslavsky's documentary aktivities on TV

The submitted paper deals with the work of the significant film historian Mr. Karel Caslavsky and focuses on his auctorial series Hledání ztraceného času (Searching the Lost Time). In the first part, I will briefly describe the early phase of his life and the beginning of his professional work in the Czechoslovak Television. Further, I will write about the show Videostop in which he was recognized by the public for the first time. The main intention is the detailed analysis of the series Hledání ztraceného času which will be supported by the solitaire episodes, mini-series and, especially, two unique cycles Co viděly americké kamery v Čechách (What the US Cameras saw in Bohemia) and Vltava v obrazech (The Vltava River in Pictures). I will focus on the preparation process, the work with the archive materials, the way of realization or the importance of his work for the Czech public as such. There are interviews with the close colleagues of Mr Caslavsky as part of the study.
