Adult Civic Education in Germany and its Specifics in the New Federal States
Landa, Martin ; Kunštát, Miroslav (advisor) ; Mlsna, Petr (referee)
This diploma thesis examines the system of adult civic education in Germany and its specifics in the new federal states. At first, the author introduces the concept of adult civic education (from the German term politische Bildung), describes the evolution of civic education over time and explains what the goals of modern civic education are and how these differ to indoctrination or propaganda. Later this paper focuses directly on the Federal Republic of Germany, starting by explaining the unique historic experience behind German civic education and its development over time. The author then defines the up-to-date face of affairs, while particularly focusing on the public organisations which represent the universal concept of civic education: the Federal Agency for Civic Education and the State Agencies. An overview of the recent threats and challenges to civic education follows. The next part of this thesis focuses on the new federal states. It outlines the basic context of the former German Democratic Republic, then it studies, how civic education reacted after the reunification of 1990 on the organisational level and in terms of the goals, contents and forms. Minárik, Peter ; Král, Robert (advisor) ; Chráska, Pavel (referee) ; Landa, Michal (referee)
Title: Effect of composition and microstructure on mechanical and corrosion properties in magnesium alloys with a potential for medical applications. Author: RNDr. Peter MINÁRIK Department / Institute: Department of Physics of Materials, Faculty of Mathematics and Physics, Charles University in Prague Supervisor of the doctoral thesis: Doc. Dr. rer. nat. Robert Král, PhD., Department of Physics of Materials, Faculty of Mathematics and Physics, Charles University in Prague Abstract: Doctoral thesis is focused on the effect of thermomechanical processing through ECAP on the microstructure, mechanical properties and corrosion properties. The investigation was performed on the extruded magnesium alloys AE21, AE42 and LAE442, because their potential for medical applications. Microstructure development was characterized in detail by scanning electron microscopy together with detection of back scattered electros, transmission electron microscopy and positron annihilation spectroscopy. Development of mechanical properties was investigated by tensile and compression deformation tests and microhardness measurement. Corrosion resistance was investigated by linear polarization method. Fine-grain structure with grain boundaries with high angle misorientation was achieved by the thermomechanical processing. The resulting...

Influence of Solid Solution Elements and Precipitate Formation on the Mechanical Behaviour of Magnesium Alloys
Illková, Kseniya ; Chmelík, František (advisor) ; Karlík, Miroslav (referee) ; Landa, Michal (referee)
Title: Influence of Solid Solution Elements and Precipitate Formation on the Mechanical Behaviour of Magnesium Alloys Author: Mgr. Kseniya ILLKOVÁ Department / Institute: Department of Physics of Materials, Faculty of Mathematics and Physics, Charles University in Prague Supervisor of the doctoral thesis: Doc.RNDr.František Chmelík, CSc. Department of Physics of Materials, Faculty of Mathematics and Physics, Charles University in Prague Abstract: Mg-1 wt. % Mn alloys containing about 1 wt.% of calcium (MX10), aluminium (AM11), cerium(ME11), yttrium (MW11), neodymium (MN11) and 8 wt.% of aluminium (AM81) were indirectly extruded with two different speeds. The partially recrystallised microstructures obtained in MX10, AM11, ME11 and MW11 after slow extrusion exhibited bimodal grain size distributions. Only in the case of AM81 and MN11 a fully recrystallised microstructure was found, indicating differences in the grain nucleation rate during recrystallisation. In these alloys, the weakest texture and, correspondingly, the lowest asymmetry in mechanical properties were also observed. The acoustic emission technique was used to reveal dislocation or twin controlled deformation in differently textured fractions of the microstructure during tensile and compression testing. A direct correlation between the acoustic...

Shifts in the CDU/CSU's Nuclear Energy Policy: A Path to the "Fukushima Reversal"
Landa, Martin ; Mynaříková, Romana (advisor) ; Nigrin, Tomáš (referee)
The Fukushima disaster sparked another series in the continuous German debate over the future of nuclear power and led to a major shift in the country's energy industry. The 2011 decision to abandon nuclear power nevertheless followed only a few months after the announced power plants' operation-extension. The aim of this paper is to examine, whether the CDU/CSU's post-Fukushima gradation reflects any constant developments in the party's policies. The author is looking at how nuclear policy of the Christian parties has been developing since the early stages of technological research in the 1950's until the Fukushima accident in March 2011. The paper outlines the shifts in the party's policy in the general context of German energy industry. This thesis provides an overview of CDU/CSU's approach towards the use of nuclear power and contributes to the understanding of the long- term tendencies behind the "Fukushima reversal."

Proposal for of Management Accounting
Kubitová, Tereza ; Landa, Martin (referee) ; Polák, Michal (advisor)
This bachelor´s thesis deals with management accounting. The thesis analyses the current financial situation and the way of controlling costs in the particular company. The practical part of it consists of the basic system of management accounting. This system should provide more effective management of company departments and allow to plan and control the costs.
