The transformation of Czech film and its critics in the Film a doba journal (90s)
Fiala, Tomáš ; Štoll, Martin (advisor) ; Novotný, David Jan (referee)
The theme of the diploma thesis is the image of Czech film and its criticism in the post- revolutionary period. The view of Czech cinematography in the 1990s is showed by professional reflection in the magazine Film a doba, traditional periodical published since 1955. The analysis reflects the form of critical pieces and the state of Czech film under the influence of new possibilities and production conditions in 1990-1999. The development of Czech cinematography is illustrated in the theoretical part with the help of literature, essays and critics. The paper also finds an answer to the question of how domestic cinematography and its criticism used an opportunity for development and whether it was successful. The research also includes external influences such as the gradual development of multiplexis, the privatization of film studios and the interest in films by Czech viewers under the influence of foreign titles.
Primary School Pupil Numbers and Demographic Change in Czech Municipalities
Kusovská, Marie ; Šídlo, Luděk (advisor) ; Kučerová, Silvie Rita (referee) ; Fiala, Tomáš (referee)
Primary School Pupil Numbers and Demographic Change in Czech Municipalities Abstract Following a sharp fall in fertility to its historical minimum after 1990, the population of Czechia began to increase again gradually. Consequently birth cohorts of varying size are emerging and these then enter the education system. Moreover suburbanisation has led to a change in population distribution. These factors have mean that in some areas primary school capacity does not reflect the numbers of primary school age children, with some schools having insufficient places and others suffering from a lack of pupils. The aim of this dissertation is to analyse regional demographic change in Czechia after 1990, including changes in the spatial pattern of compulsory school age children (6-14 years). The information obtained is set against the changes in the spatial patterns of primary school pupils and maximum primary school capacity. The whole analysis is undertaken within the catchment regions for combined primary schools (schools that provide nine years of primary and middle school education), which were created on the basis of the shortest road distance from the district to the nearest combined primary school. Webb's graphs were used along with spatial autocorrelation since these are appropriate methods for conducting...
Behaviour of the football fans-media image and its counterparts
Fiala, Tomáš ; Záruba, Robert (advisor) ; Trunečka, Ondřej (referee)
This work deals with the development of football fans under the influence of the media. Approaching, what factors affect the behavior of fans at the stadium and beyond and what are the consequences of their actions. Thesis is based on the methods of investigation of processes and interactions. Basic sources of information in addition to the observation of the author and literature are interviews with personalities from the football society. These include sports journalists, club officials and fans themselves. The work is divided into two parts. The first provides a theoretical basis, which describes the development of football fans after the Velvet Revolution, the non-media effects on behavior and the possible consequences of their interactions. The second part is based primarily on interviews and tries to answer the research question if the media play a crucial role in the development and behavior of football fans. In the final analysis, the author will, based on his knowledge, apart from its answer, offer opportunities for further development, as well as a theory, which factors may contribute to the future behavior of fans. Demographic transition, population growth, demographic ageing - interrelations and development contexts at the regional level
Avram, Cristina ; Kučera, Tomáš (advisor) ; Bleha, Branislav (referee) ; Fiala, Tomáš (referee)
Demographic transition, population growth, demographic ageing - interrelations and development contexts at the regional level Abstract This thesis aims to examine how the timing and pace of the demographic transition correlated with the timing and pace of ageing at the regional level in Czechia and also to contribute to understanding the determinants and evolution of demographic transition, specifically mortality and fertility decline, and connect it with the population ageing. It is a common belief that ageing is the result of demographic transition, but there is a limited number of studies that investigate the interrelations between these two processes. The greatest challenge was the difficulty in comparing historical and current data caused by changes in the administrative division during 1868-2017. Thus, the recalculation of data was needed to analyse trends in mortality and fertility. 2011 statistical units at the level of districts were chosen as basic units for analysis. The data recalculation was preceded by the reconstruction of historical districts maps and population data estimation for intercensal periods. Data were recalculated using spatial overlays in GIS software and database processing operations both for population and vital statistics. This step was followed by the data analysis....
Influencing postural stability in the standing position on the hands
Fiala, Tomáš ; Krištofič, Jaroslav (advisor) ; Chrudimský, Jan (referee)
Name: Influencing postural stability in the handstand posture Characteristic: Theoretical part of thesis explains essential terms regarding a postural stability, motor skills, particularly coordination, respectively balance skills. Thesis deals with the issue of maintaining the postural balance in handstand position. Objectives: The main goal of thesis is finding, if and in what amount can applied movement program improve parameters of postural stability, within the research group. Methods: The research included 7 students took the entire cycle (2 men, 5 women; age of 22,8 ± 1,64 year, body weight 61,5 ± 7,45 kg, body height 169,5 ± 7,51 cm. For the measurement of postural stability device was used FOOTSCAN, sensing frequency has been selected 33 Hz. Test battery was composed of four postural stability tests and the handstand stability test. For evaluation of the working parameters have been taken to the COP in the antero-posterior direction (Δx), in the right-left direction (Δy) and total distance COP (TTW). Results: Results has shown a slight improvement of postural stability in handstand, after completion of the movement program. There was a lack of a control group, therefore no statistic significance was concluded. Furthermore, no significant change in postural stability was detected after...
