Corporate Social Responsibility and its influence on corporate image

The master thesis deals with the topic of Corporate Social Responsibility and its impact on corporate image. The theoretical part of the thesis defines the concept of CSR and the environment of a company that CSR activities relate to. Subsequently, the thesis is concerned with corporate image and on the example of several studies in this area is examining the relationship between corporate social responsibility, company's image and purchasing behavior of consumers. The next chapter is focused on communication of socially responsible activities, as accuracy and efficiency of corporate communication may influence perception of corporate image and consequently customer's purchase intention. The next section analyzes the diverse portfolio of socially responsible activities of the Bosch Group that the author got to know thanks to an opportunity of a one year internship at this company. The Bosch CSR program represents an example of consistently planned CSR activities that are a part of a long-term corporate strategy. The last chapter of the thesis includes an own survey, in which the author focuses on the consumers' knowledge about the concept of socially responsible behavior, about trends in development and in particular about its effect on firms' image and purchasing behavior of customers. Results of the survey are compared with related surveys and studies.
Corporate Social Responsibility - sustainable development reporting

This diploma paper researches Corporate Social Responsibility and sustainable development reporting. It deals with the development, basic characteristic and social responsibility areas. It describes institutions and standards, which support this responsibility. It also analyses the GRI initiative and procedure in details and focuses on CSR reports according to GRI initiative. The analytical part researches the companies' accession to the firm social responsibility in the Czech Republic. It evaluates their access to non -- financial data presenting, standards, certifications and regulations using. There are presumptions set for interviews which survey the awareness of companies and public about the social responsibility. The companies' attitude and social responsibility reception are then assessed and elaborated in the SWOT analysis.

The diploma thesis is focused on important issues in corporate social responsibility (CSR). The first part of the work introduces CSR conception, its history, development and today's role in international, national and business context. Next chapter takes to parts the process of implementation of CSR principles into the business strategy. Last chapter of theoretical part deals with communication in CSR field. Practical part performs confrontation of CSR strategy of GE Money Bank and its corporation (General Electric). There is the list of positives, negatives a recommandation for improvement shown at the end. The second part of practical work introduces and evaluates CSR communication in GE Money Bank. Main purpose of this thesis is to create the list of all important benefits, risks and deficiencies in the CSR concept. The goal is achieved in all parts of the work. summary of benefits and possible risks stays in theoretical basis and also in evaluation. The second effort is to confirm hypothesis that communication is the key tool of success in implementation and aplication CSR principles into business strategy. Theoretical finding and also evaluation of communication CSR strategy in GE Money Bank, a.s helps to validate this statement.

Practical part consists of three parts. First part is focused on evaluation of Czech business environment from ethical point of view. In second part author describes results of her survey, which examines primarily ethics code issues. Final part is concentrated on description of small company's business practices and on stakeholder analysis.
Corporate Social Responsibility in Czech and Foreign Companies

In the theoretical part of this thesis, the theory and development of corporate social responsibility are being described. There is a closer focus on three pillars of corporate social responsibility and on stakeholders who deal with this topic. Arguments for and against the implementation of corporate social responsibility are given, as well as methods of its measurement. In the next part, there is an analysis of current situation of this topic in the European Union and in the Czech Republic. More details about particular steps for implementation of corporate social responsibility and its effective communication are provided. In the practical part, there is an evaluation of activities in this field on example of real companies: Johnson & Johnson, a big international company, and Tylex Letovice, a.s., a middle-size Czech company.

Diploma thesis deals with the concept of Corporate Social Responsibility - CSR. The chosen topic is currently up-to-date. Many companies begin to be interested in the ideas of this concept. Especially in recent years there can be seen activities and projects in this area. In the theoretical part of the work are captured substantive interpretations of the concept, there are also documented in the state of CSR -- both in the EU and more specifically in the Czech Republic. In the next part, thesis briefly introduces selected studies that are concerned with the topic. Practical part of the thesis is based on analysis of data of the agency Median and seeks to analyze of the perception of ideas, the concept of CSR is. Add to knowledge of the attitude of Czech society to the responsible conduct of companies.
Corporate social responsibility and the methods of its measurement

The first chapter of the thesis is examining the topicality of corporate social responsibility. It pursues the historical progress of the concept, defines the fields of action for CSR, lists the particular activities and analyses the motivation of companies for such behavior. The second chapter attempts to answer the question why should we measure CSR and how should we report sustainability according to GRI standards. It also describes the known methods of CSR measurement in relationship with corporate performance. The third chapter introduces the company Johnson & Johnson. It analyses and rates the most recent company report of sustainability form 2007. In the conclusion the author presents his opinion on the given problems of measurement and reporting CSR activities.
Out-of business activities

The goal of this study is to compare the influance of a tax system on the out-of business activities of companies. I would like to answer the question of the motivation to the philantrophy activities and this should be the result of the analysis of the out-of business acitivities acording to different tax systems. The analysis will be made on the example of the one of the greatest telecommunication organization of the world -- Telefónica O2 Europe (Spain) and Telefónica O2 Czech Republic. In the theoretic part of this study I would like to describe the out-of business activities from the point of view of the community (Corporate Social Responsibility), activities for the region and possibilities of the companies participation.
