Apartment building

The bachelor's thesis deals with design of a new apartment building with nearly zero energy comsuption in the city of Trnava. Apartment building have 4 above ground floors, in which there are 14 housing units, the building has a basement. Whole building is connected by an elevator and two-arm staircase. In 1.S there is wellness zone with sauna for inhabitants, technical premises, engine room for ventilation system, carriage house, common room, cellars and room for a cleaning lady. On 1.NP floor besides storage room for the gardener there are housing units. On 2.NP and 4.NP there are housing units. In front of the building there are 16 designed parking spaces, of which 2 are for immobile. Building is based on foundation strips. The supporting system is wall-mounted. The ceiling and roof construction are formed by monolithic reinforced concrete ceiling. The Building is covered by a flat single-skin vegetation roof. Thermal insulation is solved by peripheral ceramic blocks POROTHERM filled with mineral wool.
Kindergarten "U Mlékárny"

The subject of the master’s thesis is to design a kindergarten, namely the preparation of design documentation for the building permission, then the design of the building services and the thermal assessment of selected structural details. The kindergarten is located on a flat brownfield of a former dairy near the centre of Český Těšín. The building's surrounding area consists of apartment houses, a sports hall and a gardening colony. The kindergarten is designed for a total of 36 children in two classes. There are also dedicated spaces for physical activities, workshops, and an activity classroom. The building has 2 air handling units providing mechanical ventilation. Some of the rooms are cooled by air-conditioned. The heat source is heating water from the hot water district heating system, which is transferred by a pressure-independent heat exchanger unit. Sun breaker are installed on the south façade, other windows have external blinds. The building uses rainwater for flushing. The eastern part is two-storey with a flat roof with photovoltaic power plant, the western part is one-storey with a flat extensive green roof. The structural system is designed as a masonry wall system made of aerated concrete blocks, the floor structure is made of pre-stressed concrete panels. The staircase is made of aerated concrete. There is also a lift. The building is designed as wheelchair accessible. The thesis included 2D and 3D designs of three structural details. Subsequently, they were thermally assessed for thermal bridge (linear thermal transmittance and temperature coefficient) using Deksoft software.

The topic of the diploma’s thesis is the creation of part of the project documentation for the construction of a nearly zero energy municipal office. The area under consideration is located in the central part of the village of Kvasiny. This is a built-up, stabilized area, which is intended for civic amenities. From an urban point of view, it is an open structure formed by a freely accessible public space between individual objects. The building is designed on a simple rectangular floor plan, has two above-ground floors and is partially underground. In terms of volume, it is three interpenetrating blocks. The facade is characterized by wooden slats, which separate the mass of part of the cultural centre from the mass of the municipal office. The building is designed as a brick building with a flat roof. The structural system of the building is a combination of transverse and longitudinal wall systems. The ceiling and roof structures are designed from reinforced concrete prefabricated prestressed panels of the Spiroll type.
Energy efficient building with a dental office

The aim of my master’s project is to design a nearly zero-energy dental clinic. The whole thesis is divided into three parts. The first part aims to architectural and structural design of the building. The building is single storey. The exterior load-bearing walls are designed from ceramic blocks with thermal insulation, the roof is designed from cast-in-placed concrete roof slab and an extensive green roof. The foundations of the building are made of concrete strips. The dental clinic consists of six dental offices for dentists, two other offices, a waiting room for patients, a staff facility room, a utility rooms and public toilets. The second part aims to design the technical equipment of the building such as interior lighting with sunlight shading, rainwater usage for watering greenery and toilet flushing, photovoltaic panels, a heating pump for heating and cooling and air-condition system with heat recovery. The third part focuses on air-condition filters. I measure pressure losses and extraction efficiency.
Apartment house Proluka in Olomouc

The task of the bachelor thesis was to process the documentation for the new apartment building with almost zero energy consumption. The apartment building is located in Olomouc, in a terraced development, in the gap site. The building is oriented to the northeast and southwest. The apartment building is designed as a basement with four floors. In the basement, there are three separate garages, storage rooms, and rooms for the technical operation of the building. A total of eight residential units are designed on the upper floors. Each apartment has a balcony or terrace. Barrier-free vertical transport is provided by an elevator located in the mirror of the staircase. The building is based on a reinforced concrete foundation slab. The vertical structures are made of sand-lime masonry. Horizontal load-bearing structures are reinforced concrete monolithic. The roof of the building is the gable. The apartment house is insulated with mineral wool insulation.
Kindergarten

The aim of this master project is to design a nearly zero-energy building of kindergarten. The kindergarten is designed as one storey building with capacity of 40 children split into two playrooms. Playrooms are separated and each of them has own sanitary facilities and locker room. Playrooms have large windows with external blinds on the south to provide solar gains. There is horizontal sun breaker above the windows which prevent overheating in summer. Load bearing walls are made of sand lime blocks. Walls are insulated with mineral wool board. Roof ceiling is made of prestressed concrete slabs. The building has a flat extensive green roof. The second task of the project includes design of lighting, rainwater harvesting, HVAC, source of heat and photovoltaic system. The third part is theoretical and includes searching for an ideal source of energy for the building. There are two types of heating compared such as gas boiler and a groundwater heating pump. The main software used for the project is Revit.
Apartment building Zahradní

The subject of the bachelor thesis is to design and develop design documentation for a new apartment building in Bystřice nad Pernštejnem with almost zero energy consumption in construction. The building is designed as a five-storey building with four above-ground and one underground floor. There are a total of 10 apartments on the above-ground. Elevator will be in the building. The vertical load-bearing structures are designed from geramic brick blocks with a contact thermal insulation system made of EPS polystyrene on above-ground and on underground floor are used the permanent form work with a contact thermal insulation system made of XPS polystyrene. The foundation structures are made of foundation strips made of plain concrete. The ceiling structures are made from reinforced concrete. The building is covered with a flat roof.

This bachelor's thesis solves new apartment buildings with nearly zero-energy consumption for housing in the suburb of the capital city of Prague. It is a detached, partially basement apartment building of a rectangular shape with one underground and two above-ground floors with a residential attic in the form of a maisonette, placed in sloping terrain. In the basement there is a technical background and cellar for all housing units, in the upper floors, there are four housing units. The construction system of the building is wall-like, two-way, made of ceramic blocks. Horizontal structures are folded from ceramic blocks. The roof structure is designed as a wooden gable roof with ceramic roof tile. The building has parking spaces and gardens for residents of the house. The work contains project documentation for the construction.
Kindergarten and primary school in Škrdlovice

The aim of this master project is to design a nzeb kindergarten and primary school in Škrdlovice. The building has three parts: kindergarten and primary school with 2 above–ground floors and basements are connected with a single canteen. The canteen has a flat extensive green roof, while the kindergarten and primary school have saddle roof. The kindergarten has two identical floors with playrooms, locker rooms, bed and toy storage, teacher’s office, and bathrooms. First floor of the primary school contains locker room, teacher’s’ offices, it classroom, afterschool centre, and toilets. Three classrooms, headmaster’s office, and toilets are in the second floor. The building is designed using Xella building system. The external load–bearing walls, slabs, and internal non–bearing walls are made of aerated concrete blocks. The internal load–bearing are made of lime–sand blocks. The building is insulated with non–fibrous mineral panels. The project includes design of lightning, HVAC, DHW, and photovoltaics systems. The project also includes a study of three structural details including 3D models in BIM software and their thermal assessment. The project was designed using BIM software Revit.
Environmental solution of administrative building in Hodonín

The aim of this master thesis is to design a seven-storey office building in Hodonín, Czechia. The building has retail spaces in the basement and first floor and offices in second to sixth floors and utility room and elevator engine room in the seventh floor. Individual floors are accessible via stairs and elevator. The vertical load-bearing structure consists of reinforced concrete walls and columns. Horizontal load-bearing structure consists of cast-in-place reinforced concrete slabs. The roof is flat with photovoltaic power plant connected to main battery. The main source of heating energy for the building is a heat pump (air-water) backed by a secondary electric boiler. Fresh air is supplied by a HVAC unit installed on the roof. Overheating due to solar heat gains and equipment is mitigated by local AC ceiling units. Automated roller blinds reacting to solar gains and glare are installed over the windows. The next part of thesis consists of comparison of pressure properties of sheet metal duct and CLIMAVER system.
