This bachelor thesis processes the project documentation for the apartment building with a nearly zero energy consumption. The project of an apartment building is located in the city of Liberec, city district of Vesec and has four above-ground floors and one underground floor. The foundation of the apartment building is located in a slightly sloped terrain overlooking Ještěd and the neighborhood consists of family houses and apartment buildings. The main intention was to design comfortable, spacious and modern living space with low energy costs. The layout of apartments is suitable for families with children or for a young couple. None of the housing units are designed as barrier-free for people with limited mobility, but access to the building is wheelchair accessible and, if necessary, apartments can be changed to meet the requirements for barrier-free standards. In the basement of the building there are common areas including the gym and separate garage parking spots. Parking will be available even outside of the building, located from both sides of the building. The elementary materials used for the construction are brick and concrete from which the supporting structures of the building are made. The roof and part of the front of the building is designed to include vegetation.

The apartment building is designed as a building with four above-ground floors and a basement. There are 10 dwelling units within the building from which one is adapted for disabled person (accessible flat). In the basement of the building are 6 individual parking spaces, technical utilities of the building and a storage space for each dwelling unit. Roofing of the building is deigned as a green warm flat roof which can be used as relax area for residents of the apartment building. From construction side the building is designed as double-sided wall structural system made from clay blocks with cast-in-place reinforced concrete floor.

The subject of my diploma thesis is the design of a new building "retirement home", a home with a special regime, in the form of project documentation for the construction. The building is partly basement with four above-ground floors and covered by a single-layer flat roof. On the first floor there are common, operational spaces and spaces for commercial use. The other above-ground floors are identical and serve as an accommodation. There is mostly technical background in the basement. The construction system is a wall bi-directional of brick masonry elements, with the exception of basement masonry, which is made of reinforced concrete. The object is based on foundation pads and strips. Ceiling structures are monolithic reinforced concrete. The whole building is insulated by contact insulation and has a ventilated facade.

The apartment is set in a slightly sloping terrain. The building consists of 4 floors and basement. The building is based on foundation strips made of concrete. The vertical load-bearing structures are made of ceramic masonry, in the case of perimeter masonry, the load-bearing structure is supplemented by a contact thermal insulation system. Horizontal load-bearing structures are formed by semi-assembled ceramic ceilings. Roof is designed as a green roof. In the basement of the building there are 5 separate garages, utility room, workroom, carriage house and cellar. In the above-ground part of the building there are 9 housing units of a various layouts and sizes. Part of the bachelor´s thesis is also the assessment of the building in terms of building physics (thermal engineering, acoustics, sunlight and daylight) and also in terms of fire safety.
