Payment cards on the Internet

The bachelor thesis brings the view of the historic, current and the future development of this payment instrument, a typology of credit cards, complete with the introduction of new contactless payment cards. Furthermore, the thesis focuses on their use and also deals with topics closely related to payment cards since their beginnings, which are security and risks, whether in cash withdrawals from ATMs, during the payment at merchants or at a convinient and increasingly popular shopping on the Internet. The final part of the thesis provides an analysis of current state of payment cards in the Czech republic, including an overview of current payment card offers from leading Czech banks.
Cyber crime in the Slovak republic

The Bachelor thesis focuses on cyber crime in the Slovak republic, as a new kind of criminality that is associated with computers and modern technologies as well as a problem, which must be addressed. It explains the concept of cyber crime, its divisions and problems that are associated whit it. It seeks to bring selected types of crime, how they work in practice and used instruments. It briefly reflects the history of computer crime. The next part of the Bachelor mentions in chronological order the most serious cases, which occurred in the history of Slovak cyber crime. It appoints and describes the institutions, laws and prevention programs, which dealing with this issue in Slovakia. The main part of Bachelor thesis is the search for foreign legislative changes, which should be positive and negative examples for Slovakia. On the basis of all obtained information listed in the thesis, assess the situation in the Slovak republic and propose possible solution.
Analysis of specific cases of cybercrimes in the financial sector

The thesis deals with the issue of currently most frequent cyber attacks apperaring in the financial sector, that do not aim to fraud financial institutions, but particularly target their clients, average Internet users. The highest attention is deserved to fraud emails -- as known as phishing. The other types of internet frauds and scams, such as Nigerian email scams or the Zeus virus, are not omitted. In the document is presented textual and pictorial guide, which contents a list of warning signs, that helps common Internet user identify and reveal email fraud. The multicriterial analysis evaluates the level of education and awareness, that selected financial institutions provide to their clients using the official web sites. In the last chapter are suggested recommendations and advices leading to increase availability, clearness and quality of information regarding internet frauds and financial threats.

In the first part of the work author talks about history and todays situation. Main part of work deals with most common frauds and tricks with pay cards. Reders are also given advices how to deal with security risks. At the end of work autor writes about future technologies and his own opinion about security situation with pay cards and possible solutions.

It analyzes the spectrum of direct banking products offered by the Czech banking sector, such as payment cards, telephone banking, mobile banking, internet banking, PDA banking, self-service banking area and television banking. The thesis also describes the risks of direct banking and tries to predict future development of electronic banking.
Electronic Payment Systems in the Eastern Europe

This paper analyzes the electronic payment systems (EPS) market in the Eastern European countries. The main objective is to analyze the important and currently most popular electronic payment systems in Russia, Belarus, Ukraine, Latvia, Lithuania and Estonia, to provide an overview of all the technical, financial and other options that these systems offer, to create comparable characteristics of the analyzed systems and to compile recommendations and helpful instructions for implementing user or merchant solutions. Another objective is to analyze security technologies used by today's EPS, including solutions of related problems and risk reductions, and provide useful recommendations. The paper is divided into three parts: the first attends to analysis of Russian EPS, examines history of development of EPS and the prospects of Russian payment systems market, also provides detailed analysis of currently most popular EPS in Russia; the second section attends to analysis of EPS markets of Ukraine, Belarus, Latvia, Lithuania and Estonia; in the third part all of the analyzed systems are compared in terms of various criteria and characteristics. The final part of the paper also analyses the issues of EPS security and features methods and ways of solving security related problems. The information provided by the paper can be useful to EPS users and customers, merchants intending to conduct business using electronic payment systems in Eastern Europe, developers and web programmers. The outcome and recommendations of the paper may be used for further analytic, statistical and other purposes.

In todays world which is full of various technologies and we demand for sophisticated equipment, we often forget who is going to use the equipment. It is a person, the strongest part between all systems, and not only computing systems. But this person is simultaneously the weakness part of the system. This rule is often overtrumped by amount of technical literatures about security, which tries to push aside the core problem -- human factor. That is why we should constantly warn about human factor problems in the environment of information technology.

Řešení bezpečnosti informačního systému v návaznosti na lidský faktor je spolu se stále více se rozvíjejícím nebezpečím sociotechniky velkou otázkou a výzvou k řešení. Cílem této práce je utvořit obecný přehled a klasifikaci informací a možného selhání lidského faktoru při projektování a provozu informačního systému. Dle autora jedním z nejdůležitějších kroků při plánování bezpečnosti je prevence a seznámení se svým nepřítelem. Proto je část práce věnována právě představení hrozeb spolu s jejich typickými projevy.
State of internetbanking and its security in the Czech republic and the rest of the world

Práce se zabývá analýzou stavu služeb internetového bankovnictví v ČR a ve světě. Seznamuje čtenáře s bezpečnostními prvky, které jsou v tomto odvětví využívány a s rozsahem funkcí, které aplikace jednotlivých bank nabízejí. Jsou popsány hlavní způsoby, které jsou použity pro šifrování přenosu dat po nezabezpečené síti Internet. Obsaženy jsou jak metody založené na symetrických, tak asymetrických klíčích. Pozornost je věnována i některým typům útoků, které mohou být proti šifrám vedeny. Práce se také věnuje možnostem bezpečné identifikace uživatelů. Jsou popsána statická hesla, jednorázová hesla, klientské certifikáty a systémy založené na principu challenge-response. Analyzována je jejich vhodnost a odolnost proti praktikám typu ?Phishing?, ?Pharming?, ?Vishing? nebo útok typu ?Man in the middle?. Zmíněno je i dodatečné zabezpečení prováděných transakcí. ?Bezpečnostní politika jednotlivce? doporučuje pravidla, která by měl dodržovat každý zodpovědný klient. Naznačeny jsou i technologie, které by podstatně zvýšily ochranu před neoprávněným vniknutím do systému a které by také umožnily odhalení podvodných transakcí v reálném čase.
Small business computer security

Tato bakalářská práce pojednává o stále aktuálnější problematice bezpečnosti informačních technologií. Cílem je provést analýzu hrozeb a rizik, které jsou pro podnikové sítě v současnosti nejvíce nebezpečné. Proto je práce zaměřena především na spam. Možnosti obrany proti spamu a nastavení podnikové sítě je ukázáno na zvolené malé firmě Orbisvideo. Na základě jednoduchého testu je prokázáno, že pouze technologie nestačí k zabezpečení počítače, ale je nutné aby samotní uživatelé dodržovali etiku chování na internetu.
