Europe as a multicultural society: Comparison of different countries` approaches

This bachelor thesis deals with problematic integration of Muslim minority in chosen European countries and thereby reflects increasing discontent and radicalization on both sides. It aims to examination of mutual coexistence of West and Muslim civilisation in European environment in connection to theoretical multiculturalism concept as a model of coexistence of different cultures. This work especially focuses on the analysis of mutual conflict aspects putting the accent on different cultural and value orientation, identity perception and the way these starting points are expressed in reality. For this purpose three European countries were chosen: France, Germany and United Kingdom. On their example different approaches to immigration are shown as well as different immigrant integration models. In conclusion some concrete problems are presented and at the same time different approaches and opinions to their possible solution are examined.
Comparative analysis of the quality of biometric methods

The main objective is to describe and analyze the types of biometric identification and selected biometric methods and identify their strengths and weaknesses compared to the current document type of identification and verification of persons and compared to other biometric methods and then focus on the relationships and support of biometric methods in terms of IS / ICT services. The work will consist of 5 types of biometric methods namely dactyloscopy, hand geometry scanning, facial scanning, iris scanning and retinal scanning, these methods will be described in their essentials parts, the process of capturing and using the method in practice. A dual rating will be made based on these facts; first will include the sum of the absolute order of biometric methods and then a comparative analysis of pairs of multi-criteria quality biometric methods will be carried out. The evaluation will be determined by ten different criteria with different weights of importance. The aim will be to evaluate the most comprehensive and best method to determine the selection of various other alternative biometric methods.
Regional Literature as a Source of Cultural Identity; Regions Domažlicko and Náchodsko

Regional literature is an integral part of literary productions and one of the most signifiant elements of intangible culture. The diploma thesis "Regional Literature as a Source of Cultural Identity; Regions Domažlicko and Náchodsko" is trying to realize meaning and a function of this specific type of literature, whose main principle is a close relation to a particular territory. The main aim is to map the appearence of regional literature within a specific region. For these purposes are choosen regions Domažlicko and Náchodsko, in which regional literature has a long and strong tradition. At the same time is puting emphasis on the activity of libraries and regional publishers as subjects which have significantly contributed to the spread and preservation of regional literature. At the end the obtained results are summarized and on the basis these results is possible to draw general conclusions about the present position and functions of regional literature.
Current Switzerland-EU relationship, reasons for non-accession

Switzerland, a country in the heart of Europe, has been already sixty years keeping away from the complete European integration. So far this European country par excellence has not entered into the European Union and in the near future will not consider the full membership in this organization. This thesis tries to perform a complex analysis of Switzerland-EU relations, from both historical and contemporary perspectives. It deals with the possible scenarios of the Switzerland's European policy development in the near future and regards the possibility of EU membership as currently unacceptable. In this context, the author examines the reasons of the country's non-accession to the EU, starting with most obvious ones (political, economic) and ending with the least palpable ones, which are, nevertheless, the most entrenched in the minds of Swiss citizens (socio-psychological reasons).
Tools for searching information about people on the Internet

The purpose of this bachelor thesis is to summarize information about finding people on the Internet and to introduce specific information resources in this field and information gathering tools for effective searching in these resources. The first part introduces general view on this field, belonging to Open-source intelligence (OSINT). Terms as real identity or virtual (online) identity and technical identity are described. The Intelligence cycle is introduced as an optimal way for searching and processing information. The next part of this study is more practical and describes relevant information resources for gathering information about people. The study provides a description of tools for searching in these resources. This part is based on practical tests of described tools. Most of these tools are used specially for searching in one specific information resource and they do this work better than universal web search engines. The study provides also comparison of selected searching tools which are more complex (search engine Google, meta-search tools Professional Web Orchestra and Copernic Agent, information gathering and forensic analysis tool Paterva Maltego and complex tool for information searching and analysis Tovek Tools). The last part introduces information analysis and processing. This part includes description of tools for graphical data analysis or social network analysis. This study also describes possibility of information relevance review and description of how can final report look like.
Democracy in Russia and its cultural and historical determinants

The paper is focused on relationship of Russian cultural values and cultural environ-ment to the liberal democratic form of government. The main objective of this paper is to analyze impact of the Russian culture on adoption and promotion of democracy in Russia. In the first part of this paper are described basic ideas on which is based Rus-sian society. In the following chapter base on researches of Geert Hofstede and Ronald Inglehart is described current system of values of the Russian society. The third part of the paper examines historical experience of Russia with the democracy and an influence of this experience on adoption of democratic form of government. In last part base on findings in previous chapters is assessed impact of Russian cultural envi-ronment on the adoption and promotion of democracy in Russia.
Male and female identities in contemporary society

This diploma thesis focuses on the male and female identities in the society. The main aim of the thesis is to capture this problem and uncover a viewpoint of the respondents included in the research. The introductory chapter approaches the evolution of social relations between men and women. The following one is the introduction into the problem of identity and its evolution. The third part uncovers the roles of men and women in contemporary society and their relationships. I also deal with some differences between male and female behaviour, especially their mentality, communication and needs. The practical part ot the thesis includes the research which finds out the respondents' attitude to the problem of male and female identities.
Structures of Society

Implementation of the topic of the thesis is based on an interpretation of the question of individuals´ identification in the society, using particular materials. This topic has to be perceived, reflected and evaluated subjectively. The method of autoreflexion led the author, while searching his own way of expression, to non-traditional materials and a specific way of working with them. Theoretical part of the thesis explains his statements, sources of inspiration and possibilities of employing author´s experiences in the process of teaching.
Self conception and Identity of Pubescents and Adolescents inTterms of the South Bohemian Region.

The bachelor thesis deals with the self-conception and identity of pubescents and adolescents in terms of the South Bohemian Region. The theoretical part encloses the history of self-conception, self-conception from the view of contemporary psychology, it explains the terms of adolescence and pubescence. Furthermore, it deals with the individual elements, which are connected with self-conception and identity. Basically, it is e.g. the cognitive aspect of Me, self-definition, temperament, self-evaluation, values, motivation, emotionality, social environment. The thesis also provides information about Czech and foreign research of adolescents? self-conception and self-evaluation. The practical part informs of an experimental sample, stated experimental questions and hypotheses, on the basis of which a mixed research strategy was chosen. In terms of the quantitative research, the Rosenberg?s self-esteem scale was used. This quantitative research was enriched of a qualitative research part, which consisted in a short contemplation of ?What I am like and what I would like to be like (what I would like to change)?.
The development of self-reflection and maturation of the students of psychology and other helping professions.

This thesis focuses on the importance of personality maturation and development of self-concept in the study of psychology and other helping professions, in connection with the future responsibilities and personal demands of the profession. The theoretical part shows the most important developmental milestones in the formation of personality that makes people reach maturity in performing helping professions. The work is a recurring topic of identity formation and self-esteem as a further important aspect in the development of personality. Are described here as motivation, its importance and some of its specifics in the helping professions. Examines the practical, based on qualitative research among students of selected subjects, the development of motivation for learning and ideas about the future performance of helping professions. Furthermore, as knowledge and experience gained in studying the student can utilize in your daily celebrity and professional life and how these effects reflects the self- reflection of its functioning.
