History of the Spanish language norm and its codification
Rýdlová, Lenka ; Čermák, Petr (advisor) ; Zavadil, Bohumil (referee)
This dessertation shows basic characteristics of Spanish language norm and its development during more than five centuries. Spanish norm is also confronted with the Czech context. In the first chapter we pointed out the polycentric character of Spanish language norm, which is caused by a big amount of native speakers spread in three continets. This type of norm is common for languages that exceed borders of one country. Literary Spanish unites all Spanish native speakers, it is unders-tood by all of them, it is a language of literature, mass media and for-mal locution, and this language is studied in codification manuals. Li-terary Czech is also uniform all over the Czech Republic, but is not used at all in common conversation, in which unambigously dominates popular (vulgar) language. Popular Czech is nowadays spread more or less all over the country, therefore in the Czech kontext there are two national languages: literary Czech and popular Czech. On the contrary, Spanish popular language is very limited, which is also caused by the activity of mass media that spread literary language. We can see that in Spanish context the situation is completely contradictory: literary Spanish influences popular Spanish, not vice versa like in the Czech context. We proceeded with a short summary of Spanish grammatical...

Study of photosynthetic response of green algae on presence of selected heavy metals
NOVÁK, Jan
With the world population growth, more and more agricultural areas fall into regions affected by waste products. Therefore it is important to determine their impact on environment toxicity. The aim of this thesis is to evaluate the effect of selected ions of heavy metals (CoSO4, CuSO4, CdSO4, ZnSO4 and K2Cr2O7) on the process of photosynthesis in a selected green algae species (Scenedesmus quadricauda) by means of monitoring of dynamics of oxygen release into solution of nutrient medium. The experiments with individual compounds proceeded by pH 7, temperature 25°C and light 450 ?mol m-2 s-1. Algareact device developed by the company BVT Technologies was used for measuring. Comparison with growth curves Scenedesmus quadricauda by different pH was used for the validation of the method. The method of the measurement of dissolved oxygen in medium is suitable for the measurement of immediate impact of chemical compounds on photosynthetic activity of examined organism. The method is restricted by the fluidity of measured solution. The lowest quantity of oxygen disolved inmedium was measured by CdSO4 in concentration 0,1 M.

Current problems of relation between protection
Kobeda, Kryštof ; Hendrychová, Michaela (advisor) ; Šustek, Petr (referee)
Current issues of relationship between the personal right of individual and media: abstract in English The theme of this thesis is protection of personal rights of individual in mass media. This theme is, according to our opinion, current topic because there are conflicts between the personal rights of individual and the right to freedom of expression nearly every day. The purpose of the thesis is to analyse, if the attitude of the courts to the protection of these two rights is equal and if the individuals, who have disadvantageous position against the mass media, can adequately defend their rights. The thesis is composed of six chapters. Chapter one is introductory. Chapter two briefly defines the issue of personal rights of individual. The third chapter consists of four parts. Each of these parts deals with one personal right and characterises the rules which mass media have to comply with in order not to contravening the personal rights of individual. Fourth chapter describes the ways how individual can defend himself or herself against the violation of his or her personal rights. This chapter describes all legal remedies possible according to the Czech laws. It means legal remedy on the base of civil law, criminal law, administrative law and the remedies according to the special laws, complaint to the...

Critical look on internets expectations
Pobežal, Michal ; Mrkvička, Tomaš (advisor) ; Prázová, Irena (referee)
The diploma work proceeded from a hypothesis, that Internet will gradually lead to a development, similar to the one of TV or radio - thus that it will become a medium, through which a narrow group of owners of particular titles of this media will share on the profit generation and that after a certain period the entry of new subjects into this market will be limited in a same way as it is today in the world of electronic media and print. And also that the big internet web sites will enter the print and electronic media market or will influence it significantly. Powered by TCPDF (www.tcpdf.org)

Standard and non-standard language in printed media communication and its impact on discussions about standard language
Pospíšilová, Martina ; Šoltys, Otakar (advisor) ; Jirák, Jan (referee)
The present Master's thesis analyses language means in printed media with a particular focus on national daily newspapers from the second trimester of 1993. That year, there was an important linguistic conference on standardised Czech and language culture. The analysis examines especially language means that deviate from the standardised norm of the language. The theoretical part discusses key concepts, such as norm and codification or national language and its varieties. The understanding of these terms is critical for the analytical part of the thesis where language means used in printed media are being analysed using quantitative content analysis. The aim of this analysis is to describe their motivation of use and function. The results are then compared with the proceedings of the 1993 conference on standardised Czech and language culture held in Olomouc. The thesis provides a clear view on how the occurrence of non-standardised language means in media influences academic discussion on standardised Czech.
