Zavřel, Leoš ; Blažek, Jiří (advisor) ; Trantinová, Marie (referee)
In this paper, regional allocation of capital expenditure in environmental sphere from the European cohesion policy is analysed. The analysis was performed for the projects financed during 2004-2006 programming period. Based on the comparison of estimated and actual intensities of support (proportion of the total allocation of 22 billion CZK), it was found that the relatively highest intensities of support were allocated to the regions with the medium-quality environment (Liberec region, Central Bohemia, Central and South Moravia), while the relatively lowest intensities of support were allocated to the regions with the lowest- or low-quality environment (Moravian-Silesian region, Ústí nad Labem region, Karlovy Vary region). The analogous conclusions resulted from an analysis of the relative positions of selected types of regions in the overall allocation of capital expenditure, because the metropolitan regions, national parks and protected landscape areas obtained relatively higher intensities of support and, vice versa, the structurally and environmentally affected regions obtained lower intensities of support. The findings of our research allow to conclude that the regional distribution of capital expenditure from public sources was in a contradiction with the strategic objectives of both the...

John Wyclif, Jan Hus and Martin Luther as apocalyptic prophets
Šárovcová, Martina
Illuminated music manuscripts created in 16th century Bohemia and Moravia for Utraquist literary brotherhoods represent a relatively rich collection of artefacts from the period before the Battle of White Mountain. The commonly illuminated incipits of these manuscripts also included introits dedicated to the feast of the Bohemian martyrs Jan Hus and Jerome of Prague. Several illuminations dating from the third quarter of the 16th century represent a richly documented iconography of Jan Hus. The first volume of the "Lesser Town Gradual" from the years 1569-1572 (Prague, National Library, sign. XVII A 3) also belongs to these manuscripts, due to its arrangement and selection of topics. Depicted in its bordure is John Wyclif striking a spark, Jan Hus lighting a candle with a twig and Martin Luther with a shining torch. With regard to the other lesser known literary and visual variants of the motifs of kindling light, the topic is interpreted in accordance with the interpretation of biblical verses in Chapter 11 of the New Testament´s Apocalypse about the calling of two witnesses and prophets at the beginning of the end of the world (The Book of Revelations 11, 3-4). The figures of John Wyclif, Jan Hus and Martin Luther can be interpreted in eschatological contexts of awaiting the second advent of Christ as apocalyptic prophets called by God and witnesses to the (Evangelical) truth who are bringing light to the darkness of the last time.

Transformation of the KSČ/M since 1989
Roleček, Hynek ; Bureš, Jan (advisor) ; Buben, Radek (referee)
The process of transformation of the Czechoslovak Communist Party (KSČ) and its successor the Communist Party of Bohemia and Moravia (KSČM) since November 1989 is a unique example of incomplete transformation of the communist party into the non-communist party. The core of this process was the development of the KSČ and the KSČM in 1989-1996. The party following a change in the political system saves in the first free elections in 1990. The party searches possibilities of changes, which culminates into internal referendum in 1991- 1992, when the majority decides to keep the original labelling. The decisive point of the whole process is Congress in Prostějov in June 1993 when the winning faction prevents the radical change and preserves the party. Despite the strong party fission, which creates a lot of non-communist parties, the KSČM may rely on the solid core of voters in the elections of 1996. It is a signal for the party that the trend starting by KSČM consolidates positions, even offers other options for strengthening.

Baláková, Zuzana ; Šoltys, Otakar (advisor) ; Podzimek, Jan (referee)
The diploma thesis focuses on the analysis of the selected protectorate and socialist propaganda posters from the forties and early fifties of the 20th century. The analyzed period ends with year 1953. This particular piece of work strives to set the whole subject in a larger theoretical framework. Furthermore the characteristic features of the given ideologies, the theory of semiotics and a brief description of the given historical period is also encompassed. Within the theory of semiotics the main inspiration is drawn from the works of Ferdinand de Saussure, Charles Sanders Peirce and Charles Morris. The most crucial source for the semiotic analysis is the book Mythology from Roland Barthes, especially its second theoretical part of Myth today, from which the methodological approach was gathered. The semiotic analysis allows one to uncover and expose the hidden meanings of texts. Ten posters were chosen in total for the analysis, five from the protectorate era and five from the late forties and early fifties. This was carried out in order to juxtapose pairs of images which portray the same motif or theme. The aim of this thesis is to analyze the applied semiotic components of the individual posters and then to compare the respective motifs and elements within the two ideologies and the extent to...
