The Doha Development Agenda
Obenbergerová, Linda ; Němečková, Tereza (advisor) ; Řehořová, Veronika (referee)
As the globalization goes further, the importance of international trade increases as well, not only as an instrument of reaching welfare but as a way to solve problems, too. The World Trade Organization (WTO) tries to put this approach into effect by means of liberalization. The current round of multilateral negotiations at the WTO that was launched in November 2001 in Qatar's capital Doha was to focus on developing countries. That is why it is usually called the Doha Development Agenda (DDA). The opponents claim, that the aspect of development is not strong enough, because developed countries do not want to make concessions (the main topic of this round are agricultural subsidies, harshly defended by the developed countries). The issue is the length of the round and constant postponing of the deadline to conclude DDA or even the absence of a credible classification of members according to their development phase. The original goal of this round lying in improvement of developing countries' situation in world trade is not being fulfilled and remains for the eights year almost unchanged.

Nurse's part in free time activities and games for children that are hospitalized at small hospitals.
HOLZÄPFELOVÁ, Bohumila
The social development of last decades brings about rapid changes, affecting also medicine and nursing. It also contributed to a positive shift, so a hospitalization of a child does not necessarily mean breaking bonds with its parents, siblings, and the broader family. Yet, a nurse remains an irreplaceable link in the process of child's treatment. It is a nurse who spends most of the time with the child during a hospitalization. A nurse has therefore a great potential of influencing child's adaptation to the hospitalization either in a positive or a negative way. Regardless of health or illness, a child retains a need of play activities. A play is an important healing component, it improves emotional condition, facilitates an adaptation to a changed health situation and enables saturation for activities the disease makes difficult or impossible. This diploma thesis aimed to analyze how spare time and play activities are ensured in small hospitals, regarding personnel, time and material. The author also set the task of finding out what importance the nurses give to their own role in the educational process. The research was conducted in two ways. The qualitative part contains interviews with children of primary school age who answered questions about what they wanted and what children hospitalized in small hospitals generally miss. Hypotheses were subsequently formed according to results of this part. These hypotheses were then tested by a quantitative research. The research group for the quantitative research were nurses working in pediatric departments of hospitals in the regions of Plzen, Karlovy Vary and Central Bohemia. The research shows that many pediatric departments of small and medium-sized hospitals have to deal with nurses' time troubles and with an insufficient staffing in order to fill meaningfully and effectively the child patients' spare time. The results of this research will be used as a platform for improvement of hospitalized children's conditions in one particular department.

X-RAY controlled implantation stents to stenoses in gastrointestinal system.
CERKUNÍKOVÁ, Anna
X-ray controlled stent implantation into gastrointestinal tract stenoses is a modern mini-invasive method. Many medicine branches have gone through considerable development in the second half of 20th century. In many cases it has been based on new discoveries in disease pathogenesis, new approaches in therapy and most importantly on new technical possibilities. This thesis describes treatment of stenotic tumors in gastrointestinal tract that used to belong to frequent surgery indication, regardless of possible radicality. Intervention radiology is a dynamic and quickly developing specialisation. New material and procedures development extends the possibilities of mini-invasive therapy in gastrointestinal tract illness. Instead of surgery, stent implantation is indicated in many cases. This method has many advantages when comparing with surgery, e.g. lower invasivity without general anesthesia usage and short recuperation. Indications of stent implantation into gastrointestinal tract stenoses can be divided according to more aspects, e.g. stenosis localisation, stenosis etiology, inborn or acquired stenoses and last but not least benign and malign stenoses that are the main topic of this thesis. The aim of this thesis is success and effectively assessment in stent implantation into gastrointestinal tract stenoses. The procedures are divided according to stenosis localisation in a certain period. The results are compared with other centers in the Czech Republic. In every procedure, we assess the etiology, stenosis localisation, patient age and sex, procedure type and its success rate, early and late complications (to 30 days from the procedure). As in the majority of cases we analysed patients with inoperable malign tumors, the mortality was not assessed. This thesis confirms the only chosen hypothesis ? the stent implantation in gastrointestinal tract stenosis is a quick and effective method with a low number of complications. Our department wants to use the data acquired in practise to compare the success rate and complication number with other centers and according to the results to confront the procedure method.
