Šťastný, Jan ; Suchánek, Drahomír (referee) ; Drška, Václav (advisor)
The goal of this thesis is to describe the development of the Frankish military organization and social changes in the early mediaeval Kingdom of the Franks brought about by this development. The first section describes relations in Gaul at the end of the Roman period and the onset of Frankish infiltration into the territory of the Roman Empire. The focus of interest after the Frankish conquest of Gaul under Clovis is the development of the Frankish military system from the 6th to the beginning of the 9th century. There is a description of the composition of this system and its strengths and weaknesses, and the military achievements of the Merovingian kings and subsequently the Carolingian rulers. A period of great importance is the 8th century, during which there was not only a change of dynasty but also important changes in the Frankish armed forces and society in general. This constituted a decisive step towards the later feudal arrangements in western Europe at the height of the Middle Ages. The final section of the thesis is an analysis of the impacts of these military and organisational changes on contemporary society, with a particular focus on Frankish social elites, which were of very great importance in subsequent developments. This work has been based primarily upon a number of sources of...

Černá, Jana ; Dvořáčková, Ivana (advisor) ; Dostálková, Šárka (referee) ; Drašner, Ivan (referee)
Theory and Practice an the Competence of Graduate Nurse. Working in the Surgical Ambulance This bachelor thesis deals with the contemporary situation and new trends in health service - in the branch of nursing. It presents and evaluates theoretical assumptions of further development of a graduated nurse in new conditions. The empirical part is aimed at identification of the conditions for the work of a graduated nurse and to recognize whether the current legislation enables such a nurse to work individually, concretely in surgical ambulance. The thesis concludes that graduated nurses are allowed to work individually and separately conformably to the laws, and patients and insurance companies take concern in their work. On the basis of this fact some questions arise: Why is there a problem to implement it in practice? Do we really take care in graduate nurses?

The 20th century muralism in Mexico
Binková, Petra ; Opatrný, Josef (advisor) ; Štěpánek, Pavel (referee)
As I was trying to suggest in this text, the cultural value of mural production is political in the sense that it responds to interests and motives of the social world and intends to transform the space which it occupies. When doing so, such visual works orient itself toward the construction of its own public. The mural process that aspires to create mural art must therefore be multiple and combined. A similar thought has been pointed out by Bruce Campbell his book Mexican Murals in Times of Crisis: [Mural practice must be] making its commitments and negotiating compromises within the balance of social forces; attempting to fix in some manner the social context in which it takes place; hailing a more or less broad sector of the social milieu; and seeking out some meaningful figure with an eye toward symbolic consensus, or "no man's land" capable of negotiating through perspectival conflicts over the space of the work.,,161 Only by attention to the practical components of muralism does it become possible to recognize a contextual variety of mural work. In fact, these are nothing more than distinct modes of formal compromise between the production of the mural image and its public. An alternative delineation of contemporary muralism is thus at the same time a delineation of practical accomplishments...

This bachelor thesis gives contemporary summary of taxonomic knowledge of sand flies; special attention is given to genus Sergentomyia.
