Proposal of the Implementation of the Project Management Methodology into the Company

This diploma theses deals with the challenges of a project management in a particular construction company that handles projects on daily basis. I focused on the analysis of a particular project in this company, that has been successfully implemented. This analysis served as a starting point for the designing of the changes, as well as a devising a tool that simplifies the set up of the changes into practice. Selected problem was solved by comparing the project management methodology in the project with the project management practices officially proposed in the literature. Tool design was carried out in the environment of Microsoft Excel. I managed to design a tool in which the shortcomings are treated the way that facilitates their implementation into practice, especially by using an easy environment and outputs well-arranged for the user. This tool is therefore mainly used to eliminate the identified shortcomings and thus to facilitate and simplify project management in practice.

The diploma thesis puts forward the proposal of the construction project of a generic ceble system in the company Sport Studio Suzan, s.r.o., which is engaged in small-scale sport functional clothing. Based on the theoretical part and the analysis of the current internal and external position of the copmany is designed the proposal of implementation generic cable system. The whole work is compiled according to the methodology of project management IPMA.

Diploma thesis focuses on the development of parking building with commercial premises Rychtářka in Plzeň, which is realized in the form of public and private sector partnership. The thesis deals with effective application of project management methods in light of the general contractor Hermosa Parking Plzeň a.s. Information and knowledge gained in the theoretical part of the thesis are then used in the practical part for the design of project management methodics on development project Rychtářka. The outcome of practical part of the thesis is project management methodic, which should help to secure the optimal solution for complex structured process that leads to the realization of parking building Rychtářka and the compliance with all the specific characteristics of development projects.

The theoretical part of this thesis explains the basic concepts of project management, describes the project´s life cycle, time planning and deals with the change management at the end of the theoretical part. The practical part deals with the project management of construction and mainly with time planning done by construction work schedule. The issue is solved on a real project led by the Czech construction company, and the topic is a construction of new manufacturing grounds.

Use of project management methods: logical framework, analysis of stakeholders, responsibility matrix, milestones chart, PERT analysis.The main objective it to develop the concept, in which it will be better to handle projects in the consulting company in the future. The information for the purposes of this thesis were collected using the method of guided interviews with leading professionals in the company and using the online questionnaire.
