Havlíková, Šárka ; Hovorová, Helena (advisor)
The topic of his thesis "The yield of preventive examinations in surgery practitioner for adults in prevention of colorectal cancer " I chose based on the seriousness of this issue, and therefore the estimated High probability with which this problem will meet in their further exposure to the medical field, anticipated surgery. My selection partly due to several weeks of practice and the department of surgery at the hospital Sisters of Mercy of St.. Charles Borromeo Petrin hill in Prague, where I could stand by and assist at several operations for colorectal cancer under leadership of head physician. Sequens, PhD. To me again revealed in complexity of the whole issue and the need for early preventive measures such as the above-mentioned preventive examinations in general practitioner doctor The incidence and the mortality rate for colorectal cancer include the Czech Republic compared to the sad world firsts. More precisely, the relative first mortality in men and second in women (1995). Another alarming fact is the fact that mortality from this neoplasm is increasing (for both women and men). Since 1970 to 1995 increased mortality from colorectal cancer in the Czech Republic 61% for men and almost 44% in women. It is therefore very important research within identify risk factors for the development of...

Powered by TCPDF (www.tcpdf.org)

The origin, activities and disintegration of the German parliamentary association
14. října 1918 došlo v Paříži k oficiálnímu ustavení československé provizorní vlády, o čtyři dny později...

Shamanic disco- from yidaki to didjeridoo. Case study of invention of tradition
Bartoš, Daniel ; Haluzík, Radovan (advisor) ; Kandert, Josef (referee)
Exotic and alternative music instrument didjeridoo is well world known these days. Nevertheless, few musicians and people who are interested in this area of today's worldmusic are aware of New Age phenomena which shape the image of this instrument. Fresh view into this problematic has brough anthropological theory of invented tradition. The original yidaki from North East Arnhemland has gone through long journey to todays known instrument didjeridoo. The meaning of this instrument has change quite a lot and method of material culture has been applied to understand its real or multiple agency in our todays postmodern world. This work is based on five month stay in North East Arnhemland in surrounding region of Yirrkala and various interviews done in Europe. Essential part of this study is also participative observation on different locations. Literature research of topics dedicated to Arnhem Land realia has been done in London British Library, University College of London thanks to grand secured from Charles University. Literature and needed inspiration for completion of theoretical issues has been kindly presented by Radovan Haluzik from Department of Antropology, Charles University, Prague.

Selected deficits in intergenerational social workers interaction with clients in different age categories.
BICANOVÁ, Lenka
Abstract This thesis dealt with selected deficits of intergenerational interaction between social workers and drug addicted clients in various age categories. In the intergenerational interaction there appear deficits which give rise to intergenerational conflicts. These deficits may be different stereotypes, preconceived opinions, values of different generations and more (30). The aim of this thesis was to describe the intergenerational differences in supporting clients with drug addiction and a social worker, who has a specific capture of clients' experience. The theoretical part was focused on the description of the term social work, its objectives and mission. It further included a description of the social worker, his skills, communication skills, values and typology of different approaches, explaining the concept generation, interaction, intergenerational conflicts and their causes and symptoms. In my work I used the method of qualitative research. Furthermore I used the method of questioning, which included semi-structured interviews. I have carried out the research in the psychiatric hospital Červený Dvůr with six respondents. The surveyed sample was controlled, which means the selection criteria were known in advance and therefore independent of the results (23). The research group consisted of six alcohol addicted patients, three of them cooperated with a social worker of the same generation, and three of them worked with a social worker of the older generation. The results were evaluated using the method of open coding. It revealed from my research that the intergenerational interaction deficits occur in the social work with drug addicts. There were some discrepancies that were not only intergenerational in nature, but have a different origin. Some respondents agreed that they cooperate better with the same generation, while others said they prefer to work with someone older and more experienced. One respondent on the other hand expressed his mistrust in the young generation and wanted to work with an older social worker only, in whom he had much more confidence. For some respondents a significant role played characteristics, personal traits and the overall attitude of the social worker. It was important for them that the social worker was nice, understood them, was trying to help them, treated them according to their needs and showed them the respect and esteem. In some cases it could play an important role that the client dealt with the same sex and therefore he better understood the person. For another person it could be better to talk with someone of the opposite sex, with whom he dealt much better, because in his life he is more surrounded by people of the opposite sex and he understands them better. The results showed that all these features play a key role in the cooperation of a social worker and a drug addict client. For more effective cooperation between social workers and drug alcohol addicted clients I would recommend that the social workers care more about their clients and their needs. They can ask the clients for example with which age group they would prefer to deal, with whom they would work better and by whom they would rather welcome the help. I would recommend this research as a study material for the improvement of the social work with drug addicted clients.

Comparison of in-memory database systems
Cabalka, Martin ; Chlapek, Dušan (advisor) ; Palovská, Helena (referee)
The aim of this thesis is to analyze basic technological principles of in-memory database systems, followed by a market research and selection of the products, which will be submitted to the qualitative comparison in a number of proposed criteria. Afterwards, there will be also explored the possibility of a performance measuring through the implementation of TPC-C benchmark, created at University of economics in Prague. In the introduction are outlined the circumstances and advantages, which support one of actual trends in database systems -- in-memory database systems. In the third chapter are described the most usual models of present database systems. This is followed by a next chapter, where are described technological principles of in-memory database systems. In chapter five are compared advantages and disadvantages of disc and in-memory systems and subsequently, the most common myths about in-memory databases are disproved. In a next part the in-memory database market is analyzed and criterions for choosing compared products are defined. Those products are subsequently compared, according to criterions defined in a chapter nine. In the last part is analyzed a possibility of a performance comparison of chosen products through the selected implementation of TPC-C benchmark. The most important outcome of this thesis is a complex analyze of in-memory database systems. Both from theoretical point of view, as well as from practical testing of chosen systems from proposed criterions.

Human capital requirements in terms off the structural changes in the Czech Republic economy
Grušáková, Markéta ; Lapáček, Michal (advisor) ; Vostrovská, Zdenka (referee)
Nowadays there has been a great public and economic discussion about recent dynamics in the labour market in the Czech Republic. We enjoy a significant decrease in the rate of unemployment, some branches of the czech economy suffer from a qualified labour power deficiency. There are signals that educational and professional structure of unemplyed people do not meet the employers' demand for qualified workers. In the first, theoretic, part I classify sectors, branches and professions together with educational levels. I describe the theoretical backround of structural changes in the economy and its effects on the labour market. I focus also on an active employment policy. The second, practical, part examines how the educational level and qualiffication influence a possibility to acquire a job in The Czech Republic. I detaily focus on differences across regions in respect to acquired education. Further I analyze how former working experience influences a final decision about engaging the employee and if the current trend is to engage graduates or experienced employees. Another part of the labour market are labour offices and HR agencies. That is why I study the differences between these two institutions, especially the differences in their clientship, again in respect to acquired education. Final conclusion resulting from my findings illustrate the trends in the czech labour market according to the economic developement and continuing structural changes. Built upon my analysis I predict which occupations will enjoy a boom and which one starts to suffer a decline. Furthermore I suggest which educational branches support and which not because they produce a lot of not-engageable people.

Association of nutrition substrate utilization and predictors of morbidity and mortality in patients with COPD
Poláková, Terezie ; Kovařík, Miroslav (advisor) ; Hronek, Miloslav (referee)
Charles University in Prague Faculty of Pharmacy in Hradec Králové Department of Biological and Medical Sciences Student: Mgr. Terezie Poláková Supervisor of rigorous thesis: PharmDr. Miroslav Kovařík, Ph.D. Title of rigorous thesis: Association of nutrition substrate utilization and predictors of morbidity and mortality in patients with COPD Chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) is not only the respiratory system disease, but it influences total state of health of the patient. Mainly, there are changes of nutrition metabolism in its serious consequences, which could be dangerous for the patient. The typically problem of patients with COPD is loss of the muscle mass. The main aim of this study was searching for associations between the nutrition substrates utilization and indices, which are used for prediction of morbidity and mortality in COPD patients. We compared 51 patients in all stages of COPD (38 males and 13 females, mean age 67 ± 7 years) with control group of healthy volunteers (4 males and 5 females, mean age 62 ± 4 years). Measurements were carried out on an outpatient basis by using the indirect calorimetry and determining the amount of urea in urine. Statistically significant differences between utilization of substrates we evaluated only in relative utilization of proteins in...
