Bulgaria and Romania: Economic Assessment of the EU Accession and Impact of the Global Financial Crisis
Kačmařík, Lukáš ; Abrhám, Josef (advisor) ; Bič, Josef (referee)
Bulgaria and Romania joined the European Union on January 1, 2007 and are so far the last countries to do so. Before this important step, both countries had undergone a long way of economic transformation from planned to free market economy. The transformation began in the early 1990s but so far it has not been finished. Compared to the other Central and Eastern European countries, Bulgaria and Romania still belong to the least developed ones, which is probably the most important reason why these countries did not join the EU in May 2004 together with other Central and Eastern European countries, but almost three years later, in January 2007. The thesis, however, focuses mainly on what happened after January 2007 and aims at analyzing the first years of Bulgaria and Romania in the enlarged European Union and discuss also possible effects of the upcoming economic and financial crisis on both countries. The subject matter of the thesis is divided into three main chapters, accompanied by introduction and summary of main conclusions. First part (Chapter 2) focuses in detail on the process of economic transformation in both countries, on the summarization of the pre-accession period and on the challenges both countries were facing at that time. Main focus here is on the home economy, foreign economic relations and home affairs including current political situation. Analysis of pre-accession negotiations with the EU focuses both on general issues and also on detailed monitoring of the whole process by the European Commission. Second part (Chapter 3) analyzes in detail the first years of Bulgaria and Romania in the EU. The chapter opens with analysis of nominal convergence and fulfillment of Maastricht criteria and continues with real and structural convergence, analysis of external balances and integration of product and financial markets. Labor mobility, structural aid, development of business environment and main challenges for both economies are discussed as well. Third part (Chapter 4) focuses on the latest development and shows the effects of the current economic and financial crisis on Bulgarian and Romanian economies. The chapter discusses development of short term economic indicators and tries to assess the actual impact of the crisis and macroeconomic development in 2009 and 2010. This is, however, extremely difficult due to persisting uncertainty and absence of robust economic predictions. The analysis thus suffers from unavailability of relevant and up-to-date information and economic data.

Cloning, expression and characterization of recombinant growth factors
Svoboda, Ondřej ; Živný, Jan (referee) ; Bartůněk, Petr (advisor)
Cloning, expression and characterization of recombinant growth factors The role of growth factors and cytokines to regulate a variety of biological processes is ever increasing. Many studies have illustrated that this diverse group of proteins are capable of stimulating cellular growth, proliferation, survival, and cellular differentiation. This thesis mainly focuses on the cytokine interleukin-6 and its specific receptor (IL-6R). The IL-6R protein has been shown to exist as both a membrane-bound and soluble form. The soluble form of IL-6R (sIL-6R) signals via a mechanism called "transsignaling" that involves the receptor associating extracellularly with its ligand IL-6 to generate an IL-6/sIL- 6R agonistic complex. This complex subsequently binds directly to another IL-6 receptor, gp130 that in turn activates it to augment a specific response. It is known that the formation of the IL-6/sIL-6R complex can be greatly enhanced by converting it into a single molecule, called Hyper-IL-6. This fusion protein consists of a sIL- 6R located at the N-terminus and IL-6 at the C-terminus separated by a flexible linker sequence. It was more than ten years since human Hyper-IL-6 was first described and since then, this molecule has proven to be an ...

International labor migration in the Czech Republic after the EU accession
Zakouřilová, Eva ; Němec, Otakar (advisor) ; Amort, Jiří (referee)
The objective of this diploma thesis is to analyze and evaluate situation on the Czech labor market in relation with international labor migration in the Czech Republic after the EU accession. The situation on the Czech labor market is demonstrated on the data of the Statistical Office, the Ministry of Interior, the Ministry of Labor and Social Affairs of the Czech Republic and other institutions engaged in this issue. Closer analyze of this issue leads to the conclusion that the Czech labor market, as well as other foreign labor markets, is affected by the emigration of qualified labor. It is then necessary to make up this deficit of labor by immigration of qualified labor from abroad. This immigration of labor is essential for positive oncoming population demographic development too. That is the reason why it is necessary for the Czech Republic to actively use and work on further improvement of active migration politics. That is an area where the Czech Republic has already accounted various accomplishments. However it remains to be a key area on which the Czech Republic should remain focused and in which should constantly improve.

The research illustrates the root causes of the Russian Orthodox Church Outside Russia and its subsequent development. Key words: Russian Orthodox Church, Russian Orthodox Church Outside Russia (ROCOR), Council in Sremski Karlovci, russian church emigration, splits in Russian Orthodox Church.

Studying of atorvastatin effects lipid profile in mice models of atherosclerosis.
Slanařová, Martina ; Nachtigal, Petr (advisor) ; Hyšpler, Radomír (referee)
Atherosclerosis is a chronic inflammatory disease of blood vessels with a successive, very slow progress which takes many years and ,,plugs"disabled vessels. Faults and changes in representation and quantity of lipoproteins are for this disease very typical. In human medicine is mostly used medication Statins during a therapy of dyslipoproteinemia. The aim is this thesis was to describe the changes of biochemical lipoproteins levels at the various mice models of atherosclerosis. Furthermore we wanted to describe the changes lipids after administering of atorvastatin in apoE-defitient mice and apoE/LDLr-deficient mice. Female of apoE-deficient mice and apoE/LDLr-deficient mice were divided into a control and with atorvastatin treated group, where atorvastatin was administered in a period of 8 weeks in a dose of 100 mg/kg mouse. Biochemical analysis of lipids was performed by a separation method of lipoproteins by means of ultracentrifugal technique. Biochemical analysis of blood of apoE-deficient mice demonstrated, that 8 weeks atorvastatin treatment in a dose of 100 mg/kg significantly increased levels of total cholesterol, VLDL, LDL and HDL cholesterol. The blood analysis of apoE/LDLr-deficient mice demonstrated, that 8 weeks long treatment with atorvastatin in the same doses significantly reduced...

Forensic ballistics
Bohoněk, Miloš ; Konrád, Zdeněk (advisor) ; Krupička, Jiří (referee)
The purpose of this thesis is to provide a general introduction to the field of forensic ballistics. The thesis is based on the analysis and comparison of numerous Czech and international monographies and articles, as well as on findings derived from a supervised visit to the Institute of Criminalistics Prague. As such, it provides a compact and up-to-date overview of forensic ballistics in the Czech Republic. The thesis is composed of eight chapters followed by a bibliography, an abstract and keywords. Chapter One is introductory and lays out the purpose of the thesis, the goals and the methods used. Chapter Two takes a closer look at the history and evolution of forensic ballistics, both abroad and in Czechoslovakia. Chapter Three answers the question "What is forensic ballistics?" in detail. It contains a definition of forensic ballistics and provides a reader with information about the main purpose of forensic ballistics. Chapters Four to Six are the core of the thesis. Chapter four deals with the objects examined by the forensic ballistics and is therefore subdivided into four parts, addressing each object separately: firearms, ammunition, objects struck by a bullet, and further material and immaterial objects. Chapter Five concentrates on ballistic marks and as such is subdivided into five...

Possible solutions in the domain of the "Human resources management" in the information system of an organization
Kousal, Ondřej ; Žid, Norbert (advisor) ; Krátoška, Václav (referee)
My study focuses on methods of the human resources management in an information company. Human resources management and personal information systems present nowadays a very important aspect not only in terms of a management but also in terms of long-term company strategies. Proper human resources management and information system functioning provide an organization with a priceless competitive advantage in the form of effective usage of human resources. At first, human resources management is examined from the theoretic point of view and after that these theoretical needs are set against possibilities of a usage of personal information systems. Consequently, different functions of personal information systems and their supply on the Czech market are analyzed. In the separate chapter I bring in a practical example which summarizes the present state of human resources management and personal information systems in the Tyllco s.r.o. company and which also comprises my recommendation for an improvement.

Necid, Miloš ; Brtáň, Stanislav (referee) ; Koláček, Jan (advisor)
I deal with the road bridge near Velké Meziříčí in the thesis. The highway bridge overcomes valley 360 m long and 36 m high. For each course there is a separate super-structure. Each of the support structures converts three stripes of road transport. I do calculation of internal forces both manually and in Scia Engineer. In the thesis is drawings, showing the gradual construction, diagram of prestressing and reinforcement.

Návrh konstrukce suchého doku pod svislým zatížením
Zetková, Simona ; Polák, Barnabás (referee) ; Uhrin, Michal (advisor)
The aim of this thesis is to undertake simplified design and assessment of cofferdam under vertical surcharge in the form of virtual project. Cofferdam constructed on the sea shore must be able to withstand all loads to enable construction of cut and cover tunnel. As a part of the design it is required to assess ground conditions and it is necessary to review feasibility of the structure on the sea. The construction will be described in construction phases and graphically demonstrated in construction sequence drawing. Because the structure is designed for life time of five years, temperature load on struts is studied in the thesis and further considered in structural analysis. Furthermore, it is required to compare analytical models from GEO5 and PLAXIS. Horizontal frame is analysed separately in Scia Engineer. Structural members – cofferdam wall, waler beam and strut are checked in this thesis. For the design of the cofferdam wall second order theory is considered. All mentioned requirements were accomplished with help of corresponding Eurocodes, books and technical advice. Results of this work are feasible and it was possible to design all members to enable construction of the cut and cover tunnel. The phasing was designed such that deformation of the cofferdam is minimalized and use of machinery is limited to machines on temporary platforms. Comparison of two different analytical models showed that different soil modelling has great effect on internal forces, even though the shape of the bending curve is very similar, values obtained from PLAXIS software are much higher. Assessment of the structural members is done according to Eurocode 3, and horizontal frame is checked also against disproportionate collapse.
