The theme of the thesis is the area of process management. In the theoretical part of the thesis the basic terms are explained, so as the other areas, which relate to area of processes and proces management. This section also describes the essential terms used in the methodology of the real potential for improvement. The whole theoretical part concludes description of selected ISO standards, which the analyzed company disposes. The practical part of the thesis is aimed to describtion and application of the methodology to achieve the potential improvement in the environment of manufacturing company. This methodology is also accompanied by several activities that contribute to the complexity of the methodology. The following describes the operation of manufacturing companies in order to analyze the maturity of individual processes and also describe the selected processes, which were based on analysis of the processes identified as the highest priority for this company. After completing the necessary steps of analysis, individual potentials, that can contribute to increase the efficiency of the process areas in the analyzed company, have been identified. What could affect the achievement of the real potential is expressed by means of hard and soft effects. The last part of the thesis consist of specific procedures, which serves to remove the internal limits of the company, respectively to achieve the identified potential.

Set of metrics for e-shop Internet Mall, a.s.
Tichý, Ondřej ; Novotný, Ota (advisor) ; Táborský, Michal (referee)
Goal of diploma thesis is to develop set of metrics for Internet Mall, a.s. company, carrying business in online shopping. Secondary goal is practical demonstration of Business Intelligence (BI) analysis on selected metrics. Balanced scorecard (BSC), strategic planning and management system, was selected as a framework for model of metrics. Basic concept of BSC was upgraded by an e-commerce extension. These extensions appear to be mostly inspiration. Main sources of information were consultations with company`s representatives. Developing process for model of metric consist of several steps: 1. Definition of mission, vision and strategy 2. Creating strategic objectives for each BSC perspective 3. Defining connections among objectives in explicit cause-and-effect relationship 4. Assigning each objective one or more indicators 5. Accomplished Model of metrics 6. Practical demonstration of BI analysis on selected metrics Goal of practice part was fulfilled by simple implementation of BI analysis, using three selected metrics. The aim was on introducing analytics reports for management and explaining their features and benefits. Contribution of whole effort is in increasing of quality of decision making process (carrying by head executives) supported by analytics reports.
Reference management model for managing business informatics economics
Maryška, Miloš ; Novotný, Ota (advisor) ; Král, Bohumil (referee) ; Smolíková, Eva (referee)
Thesis is focused on management of business informatics. The aim of this thesis is to develop Reference management model for managing business informatics and to integrate this reference model into ITGPM Reference management model for managing business informatics. Within an analytical part is reviewed current situation in the field of managing economics of business informatics as well as managing economics out of business informatics. Attention is paid to costs in busi-ness informatics, their classification, categorisation and their management. Very important part is analysis of methods for cost management thought various types of calculations and especially thought ABC methods. The principles of these methods are applied in the design of the Reference model. Further are solved questions of business informatics effect, their categorisations, classification, definition of their attributes and also their management. Development of this field is an important part of this thesis. The main part of the thesis contains the Business informatics management Reference model design. This design contains identification of the most important metrics of measuring business informatics, dimen-sions used for analysis of proposed metrics and relationships between metrics and dimensions. An impor-tant part is also a presentation level design and definition of condition that should be fulfilled, if the pres-entation level should be beneficial to final users. The main part also contains designed method for imple-mentation of the Reference model into a company. Application parts are devoted to preparation of a pilot application based on the Reference model design developed in the main part of the thesis. Designed Reference model for managing business informatics is adapted according to the needs, requests and characteristics of the company in which this pilot application is implemented. In these parts are also verified designs, processes and methods designed in the first and second part of this thesis, so there are verified possibilities of adaption of the designed model to the requests of the target company, adaption of the pilot application to the target environment including data level, ELT procedures and presentation level. In application part of the thesis is verified correctness of the designed implantation methodology into the company.

Corporate Performance Management (CPM) in business organizations
Chvalovská, Jana ; Pour, Jan (advisor) ; Derfler, Václav (referee)
Corporate Performance Management (CPM) is currently one of the most developing branches of informatics due to the fact that it is a tool that allows managers to effectively manage their company and thereby increase its competitiveness in the market. This thesis focuses on the individual elements of the CPM, particularly on the managerial methods, metrics and business processes, which are generally characterized first and then applied to business organizations that operate in the area of retailing. There is also a fourth CPM element - CPM applications, but a detailed description is not covered by this work. The aim of this thesis is mainly to define the basic (core) processes in retailing and describe their characteristics using informatics approaches. Each process is then assigned to managerial methods that can be used in evaluating the performance of these processes and to specific examples of metrics for which appropriate dimensions are further defined. The main contribution of this work is the analysis of processes in the retailing industry, using methods and approaches used in informatics - characteristics such as purpose of the process, events that trigger the process, inputs and outputs of the process and metrics, which are assigned to the corresponding dimensions, are defined for each process.
Systems for managing Enterprise IT
Hrubý, Karel ; Pour, Jan (advisor) ; Faina, Michal (referee)
The topic of this master thesis are the Systems for managing enterprise IT. This paper is divided into three parts, where the first and second part gives a comprehensive view and concentrates existing knowledge from the examined area. The third part consists of my own conclusions based on available resources. For the overall IT Management, it is necessary to manage and measure IT Performance. Therefore, the first part deals with IT Performance Management (ITPM).Performance Management should penetrate the entire organization and ITPM should be part of the overall Performance Management of the organization. It is necessary to manage and measure performance at all levels of the organization (strategic, tactical and operational level). To measure the organizational IT performance, it is necessary to design relevant metrics. To design these metrics it is recommendable to follow a framework, whether ITIL or COBIT. The second part of this paper deals with IT Management frameworks and their support for designing metrics. It deals with the new wave in IT -- ITSM (IT Service Management). The de facto standard for ITSM is ITIL. Furthermore, the second part discusses the de facto standard for IT Governance -- COBIT and IT Balanced Scorecard for clarifying and translating the vision and strategy into specific objectives. The third part describes a specific procedure for designing metrics according to the ITIL framework. In addition, this part describes the software Metricus which enables a centralized management of ITPM and uses a holistic view of the overall ITPM.

The second part is dedicated to the application of controlling tools from the perspective of each phases of the IT component life cycle. The methods mentioned in this section include: calculating of Return on Investment, Net Present Value calculation, Life-cycle costing, budgeting or Activity Based Costing, which represents the modern calculation approach. The last part is intended to perform the measuring of enterprise information technology, along with the proposal of metrics and dimensions that might be used with applying business intelligence tools, as appropriate support for controlling the management approach.
