Valuation of the company Arysta LifeScience

The aim of this master thesis is to assess the objectified value of equity of the company Arysta LifeScience Czech s.r.o. Estimation is conducted from the parent company's perspective, assessing the value of equity before the moment of purchase of the parent company by American firm Platform Specialty Products. Discounted cash flow method based on FCFE is used for the valuation. Essential foundation for application of this method is the financial plan, which is based on internal company data and performed strategic and financial analysis. Monte Carlo simulation is applied to the DCF method in order to verify the accuracy of determining the value of equity under uncertainty. Moreover, sensitivity analysis is used to identify risk factors, which are impacting value of equity the most. Discounted cash flow method is complemented by asset-based approach, specifically by the book value method. The value of equity based on income approach is estimated to be 932 367 thousand CZK.
Finanční analýza a porovnání dvou ropných gigantů ExxonMobil a Chevron

This work provides financial analysis and comparison of two oil companies: Chevron and ExxonMobil, with bigger accent on practise rather than theory. It could be divided into two main parts: history and financial analysis itself. In the first part history of both oil giant was provided, from the beginning until nowadays. Second part was divided into chapters: single-criterion analysis and multiple-criteria comparison. In single-criterion analysis I applied horizontal and vertical analysis on balance sheet, income statements and cash flows statements of both companies. Then analysis of financial ratios was done: profitability, liquidity, debt, asset management, capital market and work productivity. Moreover, economic value added was calculated. In multiple-criteria comparison method of a simple division and prosperous (Tamari) and bankruptcy models (Z-score and Beerman) were calculated. In conclusion the main and the most significant results and comparison and comments were provided.
Financial Management for Business in the Management of Business Informatics (MBI) model

This diploma thesis focuses on two individual tasks in the MBI model (Management Business of Informatics). Analyzed tasks come under the section of Business Information System, specifically under the Business Financial Management group of tasks. The tasks deal with financial analysis, financial planning and budgets. The aim of the thesis is to create these tasks sufficiently detailed for the MBI model including detailed elaboration of the key activities and linkages to the existing MBI environment. The theoretical part consists of analysis of information sources. The practical part is based on these theoretical findings, which are grouped into logical units and, based on the assessment of the current state, remodeled into the form compliant with the MBI rules. The author of the thesis contributed to this research subject with creating the above mentioned tasks, including detailed key activities and with analysis and the blueprint of the linkages of the newly created tasks to the existing content of MBI in order to ensure effective work with the model for the users. Model documents and templates for calculations have been created for some of the tasks. The first part of the thesis theoretically describes the research subject with a focus on the systems of source information for the analyzed tasks. Based on this theoretical part, the practical part contains the commented version of tasks for the MBI model including the linkages for other methodical objects and contingent model materials.
Economic analysis of Yusen Logistics (Czech) s.r.o.

This Master's thesis aims to analyze the economic and financial situation of Yusen Logistics (Czech) Ltd. in the period 2009 - 2013, which would be achieved by using the methods of economic analysis. The core of the thesis is divided into two parts -- theoretical part that will describe the methods and practices of economic analysis and the practical part where data from the financial statements of the company is subjected to analysis of absolute and relative indicators. The rate of fulfilment of the recommendations given by golden balance rules will be assessed. This thesis contains also decomposition of return on equity indicator, working capital analysis and calculation of economic value added. Application of selected aggregate solvent and bankruptcy models will allow us to assess the complex financial health and future economic situation of the company. At the end of the practical part, the results of selected indicators will be compared with the results of the entire sector Transport and storage.

This diploma thesis deals with economic analysis of the company Kofola, a.s. during the years 2009 - 2013. Thesis is divided into strategic and financial analyses, which are based on the external user perspective using the publicly available accounts only. In the strategic analysis, we examine micro-vicinity and macro-vicinity of the company. The financial analysis brings absolute, differencial and ratio indicators. In addition, the analysis contains the pyramid decomopositon of the return on equity, economic value added, the solvency and insolvency models, SWOT analysis and inter-company comparison. At the end of this thesis, the results of implementation of the economic analysis are summarized.
Economic analysis of company Rodinný pivovar Bernard a.s.

The main goal of this Master's thesis is to evaluate the economic performance and situation of the company Rodinný pivovar Bernard a.s. during the period 2009-2013. The diploma thesis is divided into theoretical part and practical part. The practical part explains the basic principles and methods that are used in the economic analysis. The second practical part deals with selected methods, which are applied to Rodinný pivovar Bernard, a.s. The diploma thesis contains and elaborates strategic analysis by applying PEST analysis, Porter's five forces and SWOT analysis. The next part of the diploma thesis contains financial analysis of the company that includes horizontal and vertical analysis, balance rules, ratio indicators, analysis of working capital and decomposition of return on equity. The diploma thesis evaluates the overall economic situation of the company by creditworthy and bankruptcy models as well and uses economic normal. The last part of diploma thesis focuses on intercompany comparison with company's competitors. The main conclusion summarizes all results and economic situation of the company.

The diploma thesis "Value creation in innovative business and its assessment" is aimed at assessing the value of Family brewery Bernard company and later usage of potential scenarios to determine the expected value of the company. The thesis consists of two parts. First is theoretical-methodical part, where the means, methods and processes of the appreciation itself, strategic analyses, financial analyses, value generators and financial plan are analysed. Second half is aimed at practical part, where the above-mentioned theoretical process is applied to the particular business.
Financial analysis of the industry of musical instruments

Diploma thesis called "Financial analysis of the industry of musical instruments" deals with analysis of financial health of producers of musical instruments during the years 2008-2013. There were chosen three Czech and three European companies. It was also made their comparision with the European industry of musical instruments. The thesis is divided into three main parts. In the first part there is described selected methodology which includes horizontal and vertikal analysis, ratio analysis, bankruptcy and credibility models and correlation analysis. In the next part there are presented the specifics of musical instruments industry. After that individual companies are introduced and followed by application of the methodology defined in the first part. The main outcome of analysis is that companies and industry are very sensitive to global economic situation. The impacts of financial crisis in 2008 really damaged this companies and industry of musical instruments.

This thesis deals with the financial analysis of the Evropsko-ruská banka, a. s. The first part of the thesis presents the existing theoretical knowledge of banks' financial analysis. The second part focuses on the application of the theoretical knowledge on the selected bank. The application is based on the implementation of horizontal and vertical analysis of the basic financial statements and calculating financial ratios. For better interpretation of performed financial analysis the activity of Evropsko-ruská banka, a. s. is compared with the one of banking sector.
