Design and creation of BI systems documentation
Andrle, Ondřej ; Pour, Jan (advisor) ; Zajíc, Ján (referee)
This work deals with the different kinds of documents and documentations accompanying an implementation of Business Intelligence Systems. The character and structure of this work is influenced by cooperation with the Cleverdecision company. This company has enabled analytic work with data from medical registers by implementing the BI solution into the medical sphere. The implemented BI solution is in this work documented in two directions. First documentation is certain specification of the BI solution including architecture, descriptions of single components and applied hardware and software. This documentation is mainly a demonstration of the description of possibilities of the BI system and it is put after the theoretical part. The Theoretical part is about document types, which originates at the projecting of BI systems. The second documentation is intended for end users of the systems and it is put in the enclosure. It explains the possibilities of work with pivot tables in Microsoft Excel backgrounds that are used for analytic work with data. By the help of this documentation the user will be able to connect to multidimensional cube and draw up quality and predicative outputs. These two documentations are the main aims of the work. This work also mentions different end users groups and their abilities to work with the reports. In the end of the work there is an analysis of the single periods and principles of formulation of the user documentation.
Corporate Performance Management and its support by BI tools
Koucký, Jiří ; Novotný, Ota (advisor) ; Maryška, Miloš (referee)
Corporate Performance Management (CPM) je poměrně nově se rozvíjející obor. Vychází z předpokladu, že řízení podniků vyžaduje vytvoření speciálních procesů, metodologií, metrik a systémů potřebných k měření a řízení podnikové výkonnosti.

Corporate performance management (CPM) and its use in practice
Gřešák, Ondřej ; Novotný, Ota (advisor) ; Perušič, Boris (referee)
This thesis addresses a new management approach - "Corporate Performance Management" (CPM). It sets forth the concept of this new approach as a business performance monitoring and strategic support tool, its assumptions, framework, components, relationship to business intelligence, and related methodologies. Particular focus is placed on "key performance indicators" (KPI), their characteristics, segmentation, methods for their selection, and implementation procedures. The theoretical part of this work is devoted to creating a methodology by which CPM can be effectively implemented on projects in the financial sector with an emphasis on the critical success factors of such a project as a whole. The primary elements of this methodology are the selection of the best possible metrics, the project's overall success and the development of efficient reporting. The practical part of this work initially introduces "Project KPI 2008", which ran in Komerční banka (Czech Commercial Bank), then pits it against the theoretical methodologies defined in the theoretical section. The entire project is then assessed based on the results of the comparison, and finally, conclusions and recommendations are made for the future of this project. The main asset of this thesis is its creation of the afore-mentioned management methodologies and the ideal, course to be taken in implementing a KPI-focused project. This work is valuable not only for investigating key performance indicators themselves, but also as an informative tool for managers who would like to acquaint themselves with or learn more about the CPM concepts in general.
Comparison of commercial BI tools with Open Source tools
Oracle Warehouse Builder, Oracle Discoverer a Open Source nástroje z projektu Pentaho (http://www.pentaho.com) ? Kettle, Cube Designer a BI Platforma.

This diploma thesis deals with the analysis and evaluation of one of the most important Business Intelligence platform in the BI market -- SAP NetWeaver Business Intelligence 2004s. The main objective of the analysis is to provide reader with very comprehensive theoretical and practical platform overview that is based among others on valuable implementation of SAP NetWeaver BI sample application. The sample application not only allows better understanding of the platform, but also provides significant inputs to evaluation final phase. This evaluation is based on a metric system, which is defined as a part of this thesis as well. The evaluation result is then, apart from the quantitative quality interpretation of analyzed platform, included in a quality comparison (some areas) with BI platforms Oracle and Open Source Pentaho, whose evaluation and comparison have been made in diploma thesis [VÁLEK, 2008]. At the end of this thesis is then provided an overview of SAP NetWeaver Business Intelligence 2004s strengths and weaknesses.

Melichar, Jan ; Novotný, Ota (advisor)
Diploma thesis is focused on the strategic performance management and Business Intelligence domain. Main objectives of the thesis are to define strategic goals of building enterprise by help of the Balanced Scorecard (BSC) concept and to assign specific metrics to these strategic goals. Another objective of this work is to design Business Intelligence (BI) implementation which means building a data warehouse upon company data, multidimensional cubes and user-defined reports. Initial theoretical principles are described in the first part of this work in which main issues of strategic performance management, BSC concept and BI domain are specified.
