Building credit scoring models using selected statistical methods in R

Credit scoring is important and rapidly developing discipline. The aim of this thesis is to describe basic methods used for building and interpretation of the credit scoring models with an example of application of these methods for designing such models using statistical software R. This thesis is organized into five chapters. In chapter one, the term of credit scoring is explained with main examples of its application and motivation for studying this topic. In the next chapters, three in financial practice most often used methods for building credit scoring models are introduced. In chapter two, the most developed one, logistic regression is discussed. The main emphasis is put on the logistic regression model, which is characterized from a mathematical point of view and also various ways to assess the quality of the model are presented. The other two methods presented in this thesis are decision trees and Random forests, these methods are covered by chapters three and four. An important part of this thesis is a detailed application of the described models to a specific data set Default using the R program. The final fifth chapter is a practical demonstration of building credit scoring models, their diagnostics and subsequent evaluation of their applicability in practice using R. The appendices include used R code and also functions developed for testing of the final model and code used through the thesis. The key aspect of the work is to provide enough theoretical knowledge and practical skills for a reader to fully understand the mentioned models and to be able to apply them in practice.

Soft And Hard Skills of Social Worker

The work deals with soft and hard skills relevant to the profession of social worker. The theoretical part at first evaluates and analyzes important soft and hard skills necessary for people working in the field of social work. Then these skills are compared. The practical part illustrates the use of soft and hard skills in practice by means of model scenes and deals with the preferences in three groups of people ? students of social work, social workers and people outside the sphere, namely those who are neither studying social work nor working in social sphere ? who were questioned, which soft and hard skills listed in the theoretical part they prefer. The practical part then compares the three views and shows the differences in preference for soft and hard skills relevant to social worker.

Possibilities of using VBA in business practice

This bachelor thesis describes the use of advanced techniques while working in MS Excel and VBA environment in Hewlett Packard. The purpose of this thesis is to give high level advices in the area of collecting and analyzing of data and to discuss advanced options of MS Excel. All above is being described on practical tasks in the Hewlett Packard project "P2014" and so with the possibility to transfer all got knowledge to everyday' s life of employees not only in Hewlett Packard.

Transfer pricing and the Arm's length principle

The Diploma Thesis is devoted to the Transfer pricing problematic, whereby the Transfer Pricing and the Arm's length principle as such are defined, further the Czech and Slovak transfer pricing law is presented and the different transfer pricing together with their possible usage are described. The work is divided into 7 sections, section 1 - 5 is basically a theoretical description of the topics stated above. Section 6 comments the actual situation and development in the transfer pricing area around the world and finally section 7 demonstrates o an example the practical transfer pricing analysis with all its relevant aspects. The aim of the analysis was to present the possible ways of determining the appropriate transfer pricing method and the evaluation of the financial data when applying the selected method. The presented case study was based on an analysis of a group of 3 companies and was in general oriented on two different kinds of transactions. This master thesis deals with the specifics of marketing communication of American IT company on the European market. The aim of this work is to describe principles of marketing and marketing communication. The main objective of this work is the analysis of Hewlett Packard Enterprise marketing communication, its evaluation and formulation of recommendations that would lead to more effective marketing communication. The benefit of this thesis should be creating comprehensive view of the company, analysis of its communication and subsequent suggestions for improvement, which could be applied in practice.

Second one contains full business plan in its complex range prepared on the basis of defined methodology. Main question about its feasibility is answered at the end. The business plan was prepared for possible practical usage in real business.

Singing Scales in the Lower Grades of Primary School with a Focus on the First Grade

The diploma thesis deals with a problem of non-singing (unmusical) young children. It presents and evaluates methods of solution in contemporary practice of primary school teachers. Theoretical part is devoted to children's voice, different approaches of teachers to the improvement/remedy of non- singing/unmusical children, analysis of commercial textbooks and methodological handbooks for the first class which are used now in teaching practice at primary schools. The second part is composed of a research probe. Using questionnaires, information on the method of solving the problem of non- singing/unmusical children in contemporary practice has been obtained. My bachelor's thesis is called "Child, illness, hospital". These three words express the theme. I chose the topic of a hospitalized child for several reasons. Among them is my volunteering in Motol teaching hospital, my work experience in Dětské Kardiocentrum and least but not last a personal experience from my childhood. Application of Balanced Scorecard

The concept of the Balanced Scorecard taking a part in the strategic management of a company, is a main focus of this thesis. There are the theoretical and methodological parts of the Balanced Scorecard characterized individually, as well as the development and the history of this concept. This thesis is dealing with a draft of the practical implementation of the mentioned methods. The practical part of the thesis is following the theoretical introduction where the practical part is focused on a practical application of the Balanced Scorecard method for a specific company. The company is specified by the Corporate Performance and Business Model Canvas by using the PESTEL Analysis, Porter's Five Forces Model and Financial SWOT Analysis. The company strategy is specified based on the previous conclusions. The set strategy is an underlies for a follow-up Balanced Scorecard, where causal links between the intended targets and the strategy are displayed in the Strategic Map. The implementation of the strategy to the everyday use of the company is a part of the thesis, as well.

Children's group as a tool for achieving work-life balance

The thesis discusses the problems of reconciling work and family life, focusing on the provision of services in a children's group under Act no. 247/2014 Coll. The theoretical part defines basic concepts relevant to work-life balance and briefly summarizes the options of preschool children care in the Czech Republic. The first part also elaborates the legal formalities of so called children's group. The practical part aims to assess the current situation of a specific children's group, reveals its strengths and weaknesses, opportunities and threats and on their basis formulates recommendations for its future successful operation. When processing this paper, literature review, description, questionnaire, depth interview and a final analysis and synthesis of knowledge utilized for formulating future proposals are used.
