The Modification of Secularization Thesis During the Last Third of the 20th Century- A Comparison of P. L. Berger and R. Stark
Hron, David ; Philippová, Lenka (referee) ; Gebelt, Jiří (advisor)
This diploma work discusses the long-term effort of two major sociologists of our time. My thesis is a comparison taking place on the background of introducing the general trend in the sociology of religion. A trend, which comes from the long-term valid ideas, which claim that the present time is stigmatised by a new social phenomenon. The theory of modernity was the result of the development of social (and other) sciences, which has given it a normative and self-evident status of undeniable social fact, which is not to be questioned. The revision of the theses of modernity as well as secularity started as a consequence of these social changes, whose causes are summarized by a general and empty term "postmodernity". The argument, which has been going on in the sociologic discussion for a long time, has reached the necessity of modification of the old secularization theses.

Sperm acrosomal reactien in selected species of mammals
Frolíková, Michaela ; Stopka, Pavel (advisor) ; Jonáková, Věra (referee) ; Petr, Jaroslav (referee)
Mammalian sperm must undergo the process of capacitation - series of physiological and biochemical modifications prior fertilization. In last stage of capacitation sperm undergoes acrosome reaction (AR). During AR the cell membrane of the sperm fuses with the outer acrosomal membrane and the contents of acrosomal vesicle are released into extracellular space. Sperm which did not undergo AR or sperm missing acrosome at all are unable to fertilize. AR results into dramatical changes in the sperm head. Most of the proteins present in plasmatic and outer acrosomal membrane are reorganized or lost. There are also significant changes in cytoskeletal and intraacrosomal proteins are released to extracellular space uncovering new surface domains. Some sperms undergo AR even without presence of inductor of AR during capacitation in vitro. This event is called spontaneous (accelerated) AR. The latest research indicates that spontaneous AR is natural part of the process of fertilization. Field mice (Apodemus) show high level of promiscuity leading to significant risk of sperm competition. Unique reproduction strategy where the sperms form so-called sperm trains was evolved in field mice. Spontaneous AR is probably enabling the dissociation of sperms from the sperm train. The spontaneous AR rate is dependent on...

Condition of mobile water pumps of chosen fire protection units from the region of Liberec and possibilities of it's modernization
POLOPRUTSKÝ, Lukáš
Even today, there may be differences between the various facilities of fire protection in the field of portable pumps. Some units have a new and technically compliant mobile pumps, others have older portable pumps or even none. My primary interest was the current state of condition and technical level of the individual pumps. The Pumps and the issue of fire protection are mentioned in the first part. There is described a legal framework defining competencies, division, as well as the working of each fire protection units. Information on the various types of water pumps used not only in fire protection, working principles and specifics of mobile water pumps are also described here in a retrieval of information resources. The second part, which is my own research, is analysis of condition of mobile water pumps on selected sample of fire protection units from the region of Liberec. This practical task was realized by my myself questionnaires that I sent out to chosen fire protection units. Additional information was acquired thanks to personal interviews with representatives of the units. My field of interest was the quality of condition of mobile water pumps. The finally condition depends on the fact if the fire units own the pumps and their technical level. The monitored parameters were old pumps, maximum power, maximum discharge height, weight and maximum flow rate of the pump. The quality of the conditions of mobile water pumps of fire protection units was evaluated by using my own modification of operational analysis. The index of condition as a unique identifier was the outcome of the evaluation. The hypothesis The condition of mobile water pumps of chosen fire protection units corresponds today's technical possibilities - had prescientific character and it was formulated intuitively. The hypothesis also contained expectations of high and technically adequate condition of mobile water pumps of chosen fire protection units. Basis for the hypothesis flowed from the experience of recent years, when the fire brigade were gradually upgraded its founders. Based on the results it is possible to confirm the hypothesis and indicate the condition of chosen fire protection units from the region of Liberec as a sufficient because all of them pass the basic limit. To achieve four specific aims of this work the comparison of monitored technical parameters and the number of pumps with limit for condition was used. These aims of the thesis were complete thanks to these methods except one. It was the plan of modernization at the fire protection unit, which does not correspond amenities. Since the confirmation of the hypothesis, which states that mobile pumps amenities for today's technical possibilities, no need to drive to modernize the newer models. You are at least mentioned in the results of the work, and their technical parameters are included in the annex. If we take into account the practical point of view, this work is useful for the Fire Brigade Liberec region, such as document monitoring conditions of mobile water pumps of chosen fire protection unit from Liberec region.

Development of GM Foods Production in the Czech Republic
Malina, Petr ; Slavíková, Lenka (advisor) ; Vejchodská, Eliška (referee)
In my thesis I would like to focus on the research of efficiency in cultivating genetically modified plants in the Czech Republic. I am going to ask questions about the approach to this dilemma in the Czech environment, about how we stand compared to other EU members and about the reasons behind it. The aim of my work is to analyse how our agriculturists employ the possibilities of genetic modification and how it is paying off. What is our attitude towards the reasoning of world's supporters and opposers of genetically modified organisms? I would also think about a Czech consumer opinion research. On the basis of these questions and those alike I would subsequently like to set, as a goal, an estimate of the potential of GM foods production in the Czech environment in years to come.

Minimum Weight Triangulation (MWT)
Charvát, Pavel ; Kolingerová, Ivana (advisor) ; Ferko, Andrej (referee)
For a long time, it has been neither known whether MWT is solvable in a polynomial time nor whether it belongs to NP. As we now, its status still remain unknown. We present severalknown approaches to MWT such as modifications of the problem with known time complexity or various heuristics and approximations which allow us to find an exact or at least an approximate solution in a reasonable time. We compare the approximations in some particular situations. The main part of the work is devoted to a description and implementation of an efficient heuristic with (almost?) linear expected complexity for points uniformly distributed in some convex shape. The algorithm is a modification of Drysdale's algorithm for finding GT candidates and Beurouti's computation of the modified LMT-skeleton, where we add some proofs of the correctness. We are able to complete MWT from the graph of candidate edges in O(n · d3 + n · d2+k), where d is the the maximum degree and k is the maximum number of inner components of some skeleton face. Further, we suggest a new approximation of MWT with polynomial complexity in the worst case and (almost?) linear expected complexity, which only rarely differs from the optimal triangulation and has O(1) approximation factor in the worst case. This approximation combines the LMT-skeleton...

Modification the plan of construction of linear structures
Mudrák, Miroslav ; Kocanda,, Pavel (referee) ; Nový, Martin (advisor)
Submitted thesis deals with planning of an implementation of a linear construction by using the contract conditions. The theoretical describes the topics of project management, engineering, procurement and traffic politics of Czech Republic. It also describes the history, status and development of the highway network. In the end there is introduced the modernized section of the D1 highway. The practical part deals with the application of the modified project Modernization solutions to the D1 highway - section 22 by introducing a shift operation during the construction. It solves the impact of shift work on phasing construction schedule, financial plan and compares the positive aspects of the solutions against the negative ones. In conclusion there is an evaluation effectiveness of the actual and modified variants of the construction.

HDR Image Artifact Compensation

Optimization of the FE model by experimental modal analysis.

Estimation of Genetic Parametrs in Selected Reproduction Traits of Sheep and Revision of Existing Evaluation of Animals
Schmidová, Jitka ; Vostrý, Luboš (advisor) ; Jan, Jan (referee)
The objective of this investigation was to select the proper model for genetic parameter estimation, to estimate genetic parameters, and to predict breeding values for litter size in most common sheep breeds in Czech Republic. A total of 143 896 lambing records from 1990 to 2012 were analysed. Variance components and genetic parameters for litter size were estimated separately for each breed using the BLUP animal model with repeatability. The basic model equation contained ewe age as a fixed effect and random effects of contemporary group, permanent environment and direct additive genetic effect of the animal. Modifications of the basic model were examined when various combinations of mating effects were included (contemporary group of ewes during mating (harem), additive genetic and permanent environmental effect of service ram). Estimates of phenotype variance increased across breeds (0.236 for Šumava to 0.779 for Romanov) with increasing breed average for number of lambs per litter. Variance component estimates for permanent environmental effect of the ewe were low (0.0001 to 0.0262). The variance of common environment of contemporary group (from 0.0223 to 0.1309) had bigger influence on the total variability of litter size in almost all studied breeds then additive genetic variance (from 0.0146 to 0.0587). The lowest heritability and repeatability estimates were for the Šumava (h2=0.0619; w2=0.0823) and Romney breeds (h2=0.0626; w2=0.0811); while the highest were for Merinolandschaf (h2=0.1091; w2 = 0.1129). The effect of service ram ranged from 0.01 to 0.02 of phenotypic variance in Šumava sheep, in Romanov sheep it was from 0.05 to 0.10, and in Suffolk sheep it was from 0.04 to 0.05. Including effects of mating (service sire, harem, and/or ram´s permanent environmental effect) in the model decreased deviance information criterion, what means that these models are more proper than the basic one. Results from present study demonstrate that genetic parameters did differ among the investigated breeds, which should be taken into account in breeding value estimation. The service rams have low but a clearly detectable influence on litter size of their mates. Genetic parameter estimates indicate that direct selection on the service ram effect could increase litter size and achieve genetic gain through ram selection.

Appreciatve suffixation in spanish and strategy of its translation
ŠINDELÁŘOVÁ, Kateřina
The bachelor thesis describes possible translations of some diminutives and augmentatives and compares the frequency of the use of these translations on the basis of their occurance in The Czech national corpus. There are theoretically explained the ways of enriching vocabulary, yet the biggest part is dedicated to appreciative suffixation in czech and spanish language, to ways of formation of diminutives and augmentatives and the strategy of their translations. In every chapter there are mentioned the most common czech and spanish apreciative suffixes and also the description of modifications of the derived words. There are also available graphs which show the frequency of the use of different translations which appear in corpus.
