Annen Gate
Illéš, Ján ; Eichlerová, Eva (referee) ; Kopáčik, Gabriel (advisor)
A multifunctional city block is designed for the currently empty place in Brno, on the corner of Pekarská and Anenská streets. The urban, architectural and material-spatial solution tries to respect the scale and cultural-historical context of the place. The proposed main function of housing is enlivened by additional functions of administration and trade and services on the ground floor. The corner is an important compositional point and the proposed round and glazed shape of the building will form a visual dominant on the view from Pekarská Street. In the city block, the inner space of the courtyard is created, in which the historical heritage of the retaining wall of the hill on which the church once stood is presented. The passage through the city block is possible in the route of the former street U sv. Anny. The lack of green spaces in the courtyard is compensated by the creation of green roofs for residents and users. The architectural expression of the townhouse tries to follow the traditions of modernism, typical for the city of Brno.

The proposal itself is based on documents and surveys by KAM. The aim of the work is to find a suitable building program, spatial arrangement and urban concept of space, respecting the surrounding buildings, and the architectural design of two town houses.
Design of a sustainable urban structure - based on a medieval city - for the 21st century.
Čech, Daniel ; Erben, Adam (referee) ; Pavlovský, Tomáš (advisor)
The aim of the design was to create a functional urban structure in Náměšť nad Oslavou, which works on the principles of a modern city of the 21st century, but is also inspired by elements of a medieval city. So it is a marriage of the old with the new. On this basis, a compact functional structure was designed, which functions as a complement to the existing development and does not serve as a separate unit. In the new development, therefore, elements were designed to help improve the quality of life throughout the city. Emphasis was placed on the unique character of the development, a car-free center, plenty of green space and work with natural resources. The design has a lifespan of tens to hundreds of years. The proposed development can later be extended to the space, but also to the height.
City within the City / "Trnitá City Block"
Menšík, David ; Hybská, Bohumila (referee) ; Nový, Vítězslav (advisor)
The assignment of the work was the elaboration of two planned blocks of the new Brno southern center. In cooperation with the Office of the Architect of the City of Brno, we adjusted them to the final form, from which twelve plots were created, for twelve graduates of the Nový-Palasčák studio. The land solved by me is located at the meeting of Opuštěná Street and the Svratka River. It thus forms an important urban corner, marking the newly emerging district. Due to its character, significance, size and multifunctional arrangement, I called this corner building „Opuštěná Palace“.

The urbanistic study deals with the completion of the block and the creation of new public spaces with a newly designed traffic road. The architectural study deals with the study of an apartment building with parking next to the Panorama cinema in the western part of the city block. The aim of the proposal is to complete the gap, rebuild and return the housing function to the city center.
Completion of the city block - Křížová street
Polanská, Andrea ; Prudík, David (referee) ; Františák, Luboš (advisor)
In my bachelor thesis, I focus on the completion of the city block on Krížová Street in Brno. The given area is located in the city center near Mendel Square. In my design project, I take into account a modified arrangement of the “Kras” area and I respect the alteration of the street based on the design awarded the 2nd prize in the Mendel Square idea competition held in 2018. The aim of my thesis is to find the optimal urban concept, building program and architectural design of two town houses.
New South District and its Connection to Svratka
Boček, Adam ; Hybská, Bohumila (referee) ; Sedláček, Michal (advisor)
The subject of the thesis is a part of the South Center of Brno. After a long period of time, the locality is starting to "wake up to life", thanks to the fact that after a few decades it was finally decided on the fate and location of the Central Station. Thus, it is expected to expand the city in a southern direction. Then incorporate adjacent areas to the center. The thesis follows the project from 2018, the subject of which was the design of an urban concept of a territorial unit defined by Opuštěná Street, the Lower Railway Station, the Svratka River and the planned new urban class located on the visual axis of Cathedral (st. Petr and Pavel). Therefore, the thesis deals with the architectural study of a part of this area, situated near the river Svratka, on the border of the newly emerging city embankment. It is a multifunctional block, with predominant use for housing with 136 apartments for about 450 inhabitants. This block is further divided into 3 buildings, which have two underground floors providing technological background, and parking spaces for the entire multifunctional block. Further, the architectural study focuses on one of these polyfunctional block objects and processes it in more detail. The building of the residential building, called "A" in the study, provides a total of 47 apartments. And in the ground floor of the building there are rentable spaces for various uses. The effort of the proposal was to create quality living in a unique location on the waterfront and provide the inhabitants with a view of the Svratka River and the park on the opposite bank, even though it is almost in the city center.
All´s Well That Ends Well: Architecture of Palliative Care
Vítková, Kateřina ; Sládek, Martin (referee) ; Mléčka, Jan (advisor)
Can architecture ease the departure of people and their loved ones and remove or at least alleviate the stigmatization and taboo of death? The aim of this work is to design an ideal space for palliative care. The aim is not to design another hospice, or home for the elderly people, which has been designed and built more or less enough (see Analytical section). The task I set out was to accommodate this space on the basis of its broad context, to focus on the right urban location, operational content, relationships with and around, linking, opening, ... but also the very idea of death, leaving parting. The theme of palliative care is very complex and societal, which is reflected in its own design, which represents a new model of palliative care architecture. Palliative Care Center.
