Women of the group UB 12 in the context of contemporary Czech culture
Štroblová, Kateřina ; Hoftichová, Petra (referee) ; Czumalo, Vladimír (advisor)
The era of the years 1948 - 1968 in Czechoslovakia was full of historical reversions and events. Also sociocultural scene passed in this period through important changes. From the repressions of the fifties through "the golden sixties" to the "normalisation" of the seventies; all in the shadow of communistic totality. Beside the official art under the dictate of socialist realism the antinomie movements occured here; connecting at prewar modem and avantgarde at the beginning. After enforcing the abandoning of the interdict of art groups, the artists began to associate themselves to different groups, based on friendship or collective artistic opinions. One ofthese groups was UB 12, founded in 1959. The artists ofthe group were of different age; beside of friendship the admiration for French culture and art and also the "poetics of everyday life" was the link between some of them. The group broke after the year 1968. Although the group wasn't united in artistic manners and didn't have the collective manifesto (which often led to its evaluation as average or inexpressive ), it assumed important place in the Czech art. Many of its members (like Václav Boštík, Stanislav Kolíbal, Adriena Šimotová) are considered as ones of the most outstanding artistic personalities of the Czech art of the second half of201 h...

Was Staša Jílovská a modernist translator?
Bernasová, Mariana ; Heczková, Libuše (referee) ; Kalivodová, Eva (advisor)
The aim of this thesis was to portray Staša Jílovská (b. February 20 1898 Vienna - d. July 8 1955 Prague) as an independent personality and not through the eyes of her lifelong friend Milena Jesenská or her partner Adolf Hoffmeister - and to confirm or refute the three above mentioned postulates. Due to the absence of any monographs on Staša and an insufficient number of papers dealing - even remotely - with the subject, the search for source documents in libraries as well as in public and private archives was arduous. Ultimately the outcome of nearly all my indepth research was the realization that material on Staša is not to be found in libraries. Consequently, I had to create the bibliography for the first part of this thesis myself. Therefore I consider it equal in importance to the second part, which deals predominantly with the analyses of the extracts of two translated novels. A question thoroughly addressed, but only partially answered, is, why Staša has been neglected in academic literature (or in any kind of literature for that matter). Her decline into oblivion is a mystery, for she was one of the leading personalities of the First Czechoslovak Republic (1918 - 1938). She edited the Vest Pocket Revue, was a close collaborator and friend of Voskovec and Werich, icons of the new, interwar culture -...

Vascular and osseous cells in polymer structures for tissue engineering
Filová, Elena ; Bačáková, Lucie (advisor) ; Maxová, Hana (referee) ; Motlík, Jan (referee) ; Kromka, Alexander (referee)
Artificial vascular and bone prostheses are engineered as bioinert, not allowing cell attachment and growth. Our aim was to prepare materials based on natural and synthetic polymers that could modify the surface or create the bulk material of prostheses, and test their bioactivity in vitro. We prepared fibrin assemblies of various thicknesses and evaluated the adhesion, growth and differentiation of endothelial cells (EC) on these layers. We observed increased cell spreading on twodimensional fibrin assemblies and improved cell growth and maturation on thick fibrin gels. Fibrin coated with collagen I, or fibronectin, increased the adhesion area and the proliferation activity of vascular smooth muscle cells (VSMC). Synthetic polymers were based on an inert block copolymer of poly(DL-lactide) and polyethylene oxide (PDLLA-b-PEO) in which 5% or 20% of the PEO chains were grafted with Gly-Arg-Gly-Asp-Ser-Gly oligopeptide, a ligand for cell adhesion receptors. Grafting oligopeptide peptide to the cell non-adhesive copolymer restored adhesion and growth of VSMC, even in a serum-free medium. Synthetic polymers could therefore serve as artificial extracellular matrix analogues for vascular tissue repair and regeneration. Our study with human osteoblast-like MG 63 cells cultured in poly(lactic-co-glycolic acid)...

The use of electronic signatures between citizens and government in selected EU countries
Kapicová, Eva ; Klas, Jan (advisor) ; Vondrouš, Martin (referee)
The work deals with the electronic signature and its use in the e-government between the state and citizens in the four selected countries of the European Union. The aim of the project is to map e-government in these countries. The expected benefits of the author's work are to search for all relevant factors of e-government in each country and their easy processing. The work is thematically divided into two parts. In the first part is explained the electronic signature, the importance and some of ciphers, on which is it based. It also explained the concept of certification authority and its importance. In the theoretical part are also explained electronic forms, and the risks and disadvantages, which are with an electronic signature connected. Next an electronic signature within the European Union is related- its significance in a law. Finally, in the theoretical part are discussed standardization organizations, both- European and international. The second part of work is focused on the status of the use of e-government of the countries Poland, Austria, Hungary and Slovakia. In each of these countries is described legal framework, implementation of European directives, the various services provided to citizens and at the end of the summary are recommendations for the entry of a new subject with the electronic form on the market. At the end of the work are all four countries compared.
