Sedláček, Petr ; Šmíd, Jan (advisor) ; Sýkora, Ondřej (referee)
The purpose of this bachelor work is to introduce a small-arms not only as an object for various kinds of practical utilization, but also to afer on thein values from the point of their perception as an art artefact in the linkup on their development in different cultures. It directs also on the region of Japan and samurai swords with reference on their sociocultural value. In the part dedicated to the hand weapons it introduces a history of their creation and methods of their division. In the last part presents the weapon as a device used in the movie industry and in the computer games in the linkup on a weapon presentation as an item of the violence in an up to date society. One of the targets of this bachelor work about weapons is an analyse of the social pathological event of the shooting in the schools so called "school shooting", which becomes very extended phenomen of current days. Work points on the possibilities and reasons of the origin of this phenomen by revealing a possible offender profile and further I introduce a concepts of the school shooting prevention in the linkup on the posibility to reveal potencial offender in time. Benefits of the bachelor work is getting a basic knowledges from the history and hand weapons development section, but also their presentation as an object of...
Social perception of Game Management with emphasis on social group dealing with ornithology
Menclová, Barbora ; Obleser, Petr (advisor) ; Adámková, Jana (referee)
This bachelor thesis is focused on evaluation of the stand of ornithological comunity on game management under the terms of problematical relationships between these two groups. Its goal is to chart the concrete fields of arguments within the legislation, as well as game management´s beneficial effects and moral aspects. Another pursuit is also to sketch the realization of possible cooperation. Using questionnaire, which was sent to members of Czech Society for Ornithology and its regional subdivisions, the respondents answered 20 questions and these results were statistically evaluated. The results show, that game management itself is perceived slightly differently compared with perception of individual hunters. The game management is evaluated more as salutary, whereas the hunters evoke rather negative feelings among respondents. It can be caused by subjective experiences, which influence the way the respondents see the whole game management society. Legislation seems to be the often repeated problem, to be concrete its breaking for example by illegal hunting or insufficient demands for to get a hunting and a gun licence. Ornithologists would also welcome changes regarding the list of the game animals. Problem is also the insufficient knowledge of hunters in the field of ornithology and ekology, which could be solved by tightening the conditions for the hunting and the gun licence. From the proposals, which were laid in the questionnairy and which are dealing with improving of the mutual relations, the respondents voted mainly discussion - collective, regular, at the expert level, where could be possible to solve actual issues relating game management, as well as ornithology.
Effect of climatic and environmental variables on changes in numbers and migratory behaviour of wintering and migrating waterbirds.
Adam, Matyáš ; Musil, Petr (advisor) ; Bejček, Vladimír (referee)
Waterbirds with their specific habitat and food requirements varying during their annual cycle (Riffell et al. 2003; Taft and Haig 2006) are able to indicate the wetland diversity and quality due to their rapid responses on changes in environment (Delany 1999; Fernández et al. 2005; Amat and Green 2010). Remarkable land cover changes and climate warming led to significant shifts in distribution and abundance of many waterbird species across Europe in recent decades (Delany et al. 2006; Fox et al. 2010; Lehikoinen et al. 2013; Pavón-Jordán et al. 2015). To understand the dynamic of migratory birds in space and time and to assess effects of global conditions as well as local conditions of individual sites during their annual cycle there is need of international monitoring and research. Since the start of International Waterbird Census in 1967 both increasing and decreasing trends have been recorded in nearly fifty percent of waterbird species in Western Palearctic (Delany et al. 2006, Wetlands International 2016) and they consequently have affected trends in particular countries, including the Czech Republic. Wetland sites in the Czech Republic are generally situated on the edge of wintering range of most waterbird species (Gilissen et al. 2002), however the prevailing increase in abundance of waterbird species has been recorded here in recent decades (Musil et al. 2011). Though, the considerable growth of winter temperatures has not been noticed in the Czech Republic (Klein Tank et al. 2002; Musilová et al. 2009; Dušek et al. 2013), and the accessibility of the wetland sites, due to their freezing, varies year to year. Hence, we can assume that waterbirds have likely began using the alternative habitats with available food resources, i.e. cold-weather refuges, probably regardless of their conservation status (Musilová et al. 2015). Special protection areas were implemented to Czech legislation in 2004 to protect migratory birds (Birds Directive 2009/147/EC). So far there has not been tested the effectivity and impact of legislative protection on wintering waterbird species. Moreover, some previous studies indicated that SPA network do not match the species distribution pattern (López-López et al. 2007; Briggs et al. 2012; Albuquerque et al. 2013), so this issue urgently calls for scientific research. The second part of the thesis focused on Greylag Geese, whose abundance has rapidly grown across the Europe in recent decades (Madsen et al. 1999; Fox et al. 2010), and that have become ideal model species to observe their responses to habitats and climate changes as well as their reactions to human disturbance (Fox and Madsen 1997; Ramo et al. 2015). This requires appropriate knowledge of geese distribution, abundance and their behaviour. Since 1930s, when the geese started to be ringed in the Czech Republic, the ringing intensity have markedly varied and have been reflected in numbers of recoveries. In last ten years the intensity have increased (Podhrazský 2010). However, complex of the historical data until 2002 (Cepák et al. 2008) and recent data have not been analysed so far. In the light of recent shifts in wintering ranges and migration phenology of many goose populations these analyses require increased attention. Furthermore, the satellite monitoring of geese is coming to detect more detailed information about behaviour of individuals.
Interactions between spiders (Araneae) and their prey
Nerpas, Marek ; Korenko, Stanislav (advisor) ; Kysilková, Kristýna (referee)
Spiders (Araneae) are predators utilizing many strategies for hunting their prey. Their diet is often extensive. To obtain food, many various interactions occur among the spiders, and some species are not even afraid to hunt over other spiders. In the first two chapters, I describe the environment of spiders. I focus on the basic classification of spiders, following by an overview of the most important families in Central Europe and their division into the weavers of different types of cobwebs, and spiders who do not hunt through the webs but have a similar style of hunting, in hunting groups (guilds). Further on, the work deals with intraspecific interactions between spiders, such as competition, cannibalism or cooperation that influence the success in hunting prey and consequently the success in survival of spiders. In the last two chapters I deal with the interactions in the framework of the hunting groups, and between different hunting groups that affect other species of the ecosystem and are a driving force in shaping animal communities.
Watebird hunting in Czech Republic and in Europe
Černý, Martin ; Musil, Petr (advisor) ; Šťastný, Karel (referee)
Bachelor´s thesis compares waterbirds hunting in the Czech Republic and in other countries in Europe and North Americe. Moreover, thesis is focused at hunting limitation and effect of hunting on waterbird populations. Target of the bachelor´s thesis is determine a consequences of hunting on waterbirds population based on accessible information and compare methods of the hunting in nowadays and in the past. This work pursues a methods of waterbirds hunting, numbers of released farm´s reared species and hunted birds in the Czech Republic and Europe. The thesis is also dedicated to problems with excess hunting in states of European Union and the ban of leaden shots. Main attention is on the order of Anseriformes family Anatidae. The result is summary of every available data collected on the area of the Czech Republic about hunt of the Mallardk (Anas platyrhynchos) and the Greylag Goose (Anser anser) but also another game species.
Social behavior of canids
Kocurová, Kamila ; Čapková, Zuzana (advisor) ; Lněničková, Jana (referee)
The interest in canids ethology was the main reason for focusing this thesis on sociality of these carnivores. First part of this thesis is focused on terms such as sociality, territoriality and various types of communication. It discusses reasons, which could lead to the creation of canid social organizations as we know it today. It shows the benefits of sociality, which include defense of territories, cooperative hunting, or the defense against other predators, and costs resulting from sociality, which is an increased competition for resources between group members. This part also discusses the types of social organizations and their variability for each species. Chapter focused on communication discusses different types of communication, vocalization, visual and olfactory communication. Second part describes social behavior of several selected species, and the Wolf (Canis lupus) sociality is described in great detail. This thesis is written as literary research and summarizes often differing opinions of various authors and provides a review of theories on sociality of these animals. The aim of this thesis is to create a complete summary of these theories. It can also serve as a theoretical basis for related work.
Social perception of game management from the point of view of hunters themselves
Fojtíková, Aneta ; Obleser, Petr (advisor) ; Husinec, Václav (referee)
This bachelor thesis addresses the current issues concerning the relationship between hunters and the public. The survey is carried out through a questionnaire filled by people working in game management. The questionn fell into the hands of three hundred hunters, who come from all corners of the Czech Republic . Respondents were also of different ages and education The purpose of the thesis is to find weaknesses in communication between hunters themselves as well as between hunters and general public and the media. It aims to also find out why hunters are negatively perceived by the public, whether they are able to realize what is the cause and propose measures to improve the image of Czech game management.
Stanovení početnosti volně žijících živočichů jako základ mysliveckého a lesnického hospodaření
Plhal, Radim
The results of several studies whose theme was population density of game and the possibility of its estimation were summarized in this paper. Population density is one of the most important characteristics of animal population, especially in relation to the proper sustainable wildlife management. The first study dealt with verification technology of the Game Management Plan for selected ungulate species in the Czech Rep. Further work compared four different methods of counting and the appropriateness of using on the example of wild boar in the forest environment. The following two papers tested the possibility of using the method of dung counting for estimating the numbers of wild boar in the forest environment. Recent work has dealt with the study of the distribution of faeces of wild boar, depending on the different hunting management within two neighbouring hunting grounds. The first study found that the hunting planning in the Czech Republic is not suitable for all ungulate game species. Photo traps could be used to estimate the abundance of wild boar only in combination with other independent methods. Dung counting is a suitable method for estimating the numbers of wild boar. Dung counting could be also used to specify the spatial activity of wild boar in the forest environment.
LITENČICE CASTLE - A NEW CONCEPT OF RECOVERY OF LAND USE CASTLE GROUNDS
Petrová, Markéta ; Pospíšil, Zdeněk (referee) ; Boháč, Ivo (advisor)
Thesis suggests a recovery of Litenčice castle in the Zlín region. In the current state of the castle it's apparent that in the past fifty years it went through rough times during which it has been decaying or has been inappropriately and inconsiderably renovated. My concept of revitalization is based on a humble approach to the current state and the effort to restore the dignity of this sumptuous mansion. Great emphasis was also put on the eventual execution of the project which is why I changed some of the aspects in order to meet with the owner's vision. Due to high costs of repairs and insurance of continuity of revitalization I was seeking to make opportunities for economic returnability. My aim was to create a complex in which it is possible to spend the weekend with whole family. Renovating the stables makes for an attraction for children just as much as it gives the opportunity travel nearby surroundings by horses. Furthermore, it will be possible to participate in workshops as to reduce the costs of partial repairs notably. As the owner of the castle currently offers the sale of hunting tickets I decided to renovate the premises of the main castle to function as accommodation for these clients. In the event that the above-mentioned objectives were successful it is convenient to think about the consequences. Maintenance of a large object naturally caries the burden of high costs which can be partially eliminated by workshopping, which will be supported by an ecocentre which is placed nearby the stables.
