In an Apartment in a small town, Mikulov
Urbášek, Jan ; Kristek, Jan (referee) ; Hora, Jan (advisor)
The main focus was to use elements, quintessential for the historic center of Mikulov, which are often recurrent and also have their place in present day. Courtyards, terraces, walls instead of fences, sloping roofs. All of the above-meantioned creates a distinctive character of the place as well as it underlines its basic need. A need for privacy. Solids is a reaction to this need. It is self-confessed new structure, which sticks out, but doesnt disrupt the town centre. Two solid, monolithic, concrete blocks become part of the town and co-create its genius loci.

The GAP in Brno
Koudelková, Veronika ; Bernátek, Tomáš (referee) ; Palaščák, Michal (advisor)
The subject of my work was to fill a selected gap in the heart of Brno with a residential building, to compact the city center and effectively use unmaintained spaces. The solved area is located on Cejl street in the Zábrdovice district, nicknamed the Brno Bronx. With my design, I try to contribute to the attractiveness of the location and the creation of pleasant living in the city center as part of a friendly and creative community. The concept is based on the ideal use of the land and also takes into account the surrounding buildings and normative requirements for their placement, spacing and sun exposure. The resulting design therefore consists of three buildings - two apartment buildings in the courtyard and a street building, which in addition to the vertical communication serves also as a noise and dust filter and with its facade brings into the street a hitherto non-existent green element. In this building there is also a space on the ground floor for the sale of local plants, flowers or vegetables, which residents can grow directly on the plot, in greenhouses in the street building or directly on spacious galleries connecting all 3 designed buildings. The design also takes into account the need for parking spaces for residents, which are located on the ground floor directly below the apartment buildings together with the cellars.
Historical Houses Jihlava
Fojtová, Lucie ; Navrkal, Martin (referee) ; Havliš, Karel (advisor)
The subject of this thesis is an urban and architectural study of the area around the historical Gate of Matky Boží in Jihlava and a proposal for a development plan for this part of the historic centre. From the point of view of the context of the whole city and the integration of the area into its structure, the proposal restores the pedestrian permeability of the area by means of a footbridge connecting Matky Boží Street with the suburb. In addition, two parking structures are proposed on the site to help minimize the parking problem in the historic core and make way for new public spaces. The architectural portion of the work deals with the renovation of two historic houses owned by the city. The emphasis is on a new, sustainable functional use of the spaces of these listed buildings. The result is the design of a complex of two houses with a publicly accessible inner courtyard, which together form a vibrant part of the urban centre of Jihlava suitable for living, working, culture, entertainment, leisure and recreation.

Primary Architecture / Teaching architecture to the younger generation
Menšíková, Barbora ; Veselá, Markéta (referee) ; Ponešová, Barbora (advisor)
Due to the complexity of the whole current educational system, the proposal creates an alternative form of teaching aesthetic perception - art and architecture, a kind of intermediate stage, which joins the existing curricula of compulsory education of children as a supplement or extension. The proposal is therefore a space - an artistic institution, focusing on the education of the young generation from the ranks of the general public. The cooperation of the School of Architecture with educational institutions creates an environment where the student emerges from the academic community and educates the general public. On the contrary, the public enters the environment of the Faculty of Architecture and offers architects a new perspective.

The Rehabilitation of the historical center and adjacent surroundings of Kyjov with a focus on the public space
Fojtíková, Martina ; Erben, Adam (referee) ; Pavlovský, Tomáš (advisor)
This diploma thesis is focused on the rehabilitation of adjacent surroundings of the historical center of Kyjov and revitalizing public spaces. Part of the thesis are the analysis of the current condition of the solved and affected area, problems evaluation and values of the territory and draft of a new building structure along with a working transport solution. The main criterion for the choice of the area to be solved for me was the problem of this locality with conjunction to industry area of the mills and a very small percentage of the quality of the territory. The mill site occupies almost a quarter of the area and together with surrounding buildings, makes a large impassable barrier in the city. The draft seeks to respond to the functioning state of the site and to rehabilitate the surrounding environment. Another factor for the selection of the territory was the unused potential of the river side Kyjovka flowing through the area. This area hides many other problems and there is no quality architecture. My task was to combine all aspects of the area and make the most of it for the draft. A new functional neighborhood of housing with public spaces and amenities is being designed on the area. The draft include 2 new streets, 4 public spaces, pedestrian zone, Kyjovka riverside, 45 new buildings and 10 reconstructed buildings. The concept of the area also concerns the transfer of the existing main railway station. The draft is also aimed on the main problem of Kyjov, as a growing age population, the poor quality of services and commuting to work.

Kuba, Jonáš ; Suchánek,, Petr (referee) ; Nový, Alois (advisor) ; Donaťáková, Dagmar (advisor)
The project is dedicated to an industrial hall designated for manufacturing of ladies clothing for a brand Manifesto. The building is located in one of brownfields in Brno, which offers breathtaking city views. This building lies beside the main road Rokytova where a bus stop is situated and is separated from this busy street by trees. The aim is to place the hall on the brownfield estate in a suitable way and this purpose can be fullfilled by using a wooden fasade. Warehouse and production are situated on the second floor. Offices, a canteen, a buffet, a cloakroom, a showroom, etc can be found in the basement.
Pro civitas – City In The City; Polná, Polná´s suburbs – Multifunctional structure in selected locality and context
Olbertová, Miriam ; Řihák, Pavel (referee) ; Kiszka, Josef (advisor)
The Bachelor's work devotes to the design of the compound of pension and its incorporation into composition of the city centre of Polná. Different values, atmospheres and influences of surrounding, natural or urbanistic are encountered in the area. The basal compact mass of the city centre gradually loosing into nature through a fragmented residential structure. The aim of the work is to offer a dessign that responds to these impacts and links them in a single logical unit, using characteristic values. The compound of pension is divided into smaller volumes on the pedestal, in collaboration with a restaurant object designed around the central courtyard. The pedestal continuously on the hilly terrain uses space for the placement of the spa of the cave character, in the underground. The suggested structure in the locality is replenished by a literary cafe which connects the Hus's library with a nice atmosphere in its back. The programme of the place offers both the regeneration of the body and the soul, the community, but also the privacy, and intimacy.
