International development aid and assistance

The aim of this bachelor thesis is chart to the development and the level of international development assistance from beginning to the present. The thesis is divided into the six main chapters. The first chapter which specifies and characterizes official development assistance is followed by the historical analysis summarizing development of main trends and institutions. The next part deals with development of financial flows moving to developing countr ies and is focused especially on period of thirty years since the end of 1960s to the end of 1990s. The forth chapter describes the most important international oraganizations which act in the area of development cooperation. The fifth part presents question of effectiveness of external assistance, what is the role of government and institutional environment for efficient resaults of assistance in developing countries. Information politics of BRD

This thesis deals with the questions of information policy in Germany, covering the whole scope fo this matter. It focuses mainly on the behavior and activities of the federal government in the area of international sector support Germany. The beginnings of the information policy date back to the 60's of the last century, when the federal administration started to realize the importance of information, mostly fot the research area. The work follows the development of the German information policy up to the present. The most important chapter of this thesis concerns the current information policy of the federal government in it's whole scope of influence. The thesis deals indispensably also with the so-called operational plans, which comprise most of the information policy. The measures that were taken by federal government influenced the whole German informational environment, where many of significant information systems and services originated. This issue is 5 discussed in one chapter of thesis as well. The conclusion of this thesis evaluates and foreshadows future tendencies of the German information policy. Large-scale disasters and their management

Bachelor thesis "Mass accident and their management" deals with the problem with management extraordinary events. The aim of this study is to resume the basic information and pieces of knowledge concerned the theme of the mass accidents. It is a theoretical study with practical instructions. By the processing of this work is gone from the specialized literature and from the up-to- date thesis relating to different kinds of catastrophes and mass accidents. At the beginning of the thesis there is described what the medicine of catastrophe is and a little bit of the history of this medicine branch. Next part of the study deals with classification of the catastrophes. Some catastrophes, which destroy our earth, for example tsunami in Asia in 2004 and floods in the Czech Republic in 1997 and 2002 are mentioned. The study introduces integrated rescue system and organization in place of the extraordinary event. More closely my study devotes the classification of the wounded. In this part there are the charts, which are used to classification. Finally there are the basics of first aid of some injuries introduced in this work. The study mentions the contagious diseases, epidemic hazards and psychological effects of mass accidents. In study there is the case reports and the manual "What do when the siren sounds"....

The effects of foreign direct investments in the Vysočina region

This document scrutinizes the effects of foreign direct investments (FDIs) in the Vysočina region. In the first part I define the notion of FDI, not just from the economic but also from the legislative and legal view of point. The following chapters are devoted the possible positive and negative impacts of FDIs on the host economy. The next section of the theoretical chapter describes the system of incentives for investors and mainly focuses on the state agency CzechInvest that supports enterprise and investments. After that I depict the historical development of FDIs in the Czech Republic with the emphasis on the comparison with the countries of the Visegrad Group. At the beginning of the analytic section I introduce briefly economy of the Vysočina municipality. Furthermore, I analyze more precisely the possible impacts of FDIs on following areas: the structure of the regional economy, GDP, unemployment and the disposable income. In this chapter I work especially with macroeconomic data and their development in conjunction with the increasing or decreasing trend of FDIs floating into the region. In more detail I examine the contribution of ten biggest firms, which have been allocated into the region via the agency CzechInvest, for the sake of concretization. The conclusive output of the document is the evaluation of the total importance of FDIs for the Vysočina region and its citizens.

Position and strategy of Česká pojišťovna a.s. in a domestic and foreign market

The thesis focuses on the analysis of the position and strategy of Česká pojišťovna a.s. in the Czech and Romanian market. At the beginning the company Česká pojišťovna is introduced followed by a description of the current strategy whose part is a definition of marketing mix as well and then by the analysis of Czech insurance market from which the position of Česká pojišťovna in the Czech republic arises. At the close of these chapters an evaluation of activities of Česká pojišťovna in the Czech insurance market was performed including proposed recommendations on the improvement. Next parts of the thesis are already dedicated to Romania. Specifics of the entrepreneurial environment are summarized in the PEST analysis followed by Romanian insurance market analysis completed with information regarding the entry of the company in this market and evaluation of its activities in Romania. As the thesis was written during an economic crisis, it includes an identification of its impacts on both the company and above mentioned markets, namely in the economic sphere and incurance sector as well.

The legal regulation of social security in Czechoslovakia before WWII and its legacy for the present time

Social security legislation in times of first Czechoslovak republic and its contribution for the present time The object of this diploma thesis is to inform the reader about development of social legislation in time of the first Czechoslovak Republic and present author's views on contribution of this legislation to present time. The first Czechoslovak Republic was founded after First World War at October 28th 1918. The legislation of this republic was taken from Austria - Hungary monarchy and so was the social legislation. Part of these laws was taken over and then was amended and the other part was newly created but based on previous legislation. According to this fact the very beginning of the thesis discusses social security and organizational structure of social administration in Austria - Hungary, which began to form in the late 19th century. The next chapter deals with laws govern unemployment benefits. After the establishment of the Czechoslovak republic there was the unemployment benefits direct from the state, but in 1925 different law came into force. It was insurance system well known as ghent system. This system meant that unemployment benefits were provided by trade unions only to their unemployed members and in accordance with law state provided financial contributions to these unemployment...

Space of Zakarpattia in the Czech literature

This thesis deals with the phenomenon of Carpathian Ruthenia, or Zakarpattia, which is one of the most discussed issues in Czech literature. It expands the traditional view of the issue with a chronological survey of works by Czech authors who were inspired by Carpathian Ruthenia, and maps their writings created from the end of the 19th century to the beginning of the 21st century. It focuses on their interpretation, with particular reference to the topology. The first chapter presents the terminological problems associated with the territory of the Transcarpathian region and briefly summarizes its history. The next chapter submits an account of the exceptional nature of this area (its contrasts, periphery, regionalism, myths, exoticism, idylls and adventures), and attempts to characterize its uniqueness (backwardness, belief in superstitions, Jews, alcoholism, poachers, enchanting countryside and outlaws). Carpathian Ruthenia appears to be a place of secrecy, where hypothetical characters grow. The topology of the mountain is also an important element. The following chapter, the longest, presents most of the works by the Czech authors who were inspired by this region. The employee care

This bachelor thesis focuses in the theoretical part on various types of labour conditions. The occupational safety and hygiene, the employee development and education are defined in the next chapters. One of the chapters deals with in the modern question of the environmental care. At the end of the theoretical part, there is a much more space for the question of the employee appraisal, their motivation and control of wages -- monetary, nonmonetary and within the scope of regulatory requirements. At the beginning of the operative part, the small company MagicWare s.r.o., engaged in creation of the software applications, is introduced. The theoretical knowledge from the theoretical part is applied to this company in the next chapters. In other chapters there is assessed the employee care right in this firm. The practical part is concluded by a recommendation to the company how to improve the strategy of employee care.

Project Conversion of SKK to EUR in ERP SAP

This diploma work is concerned about of euro conversion and its impact on information system ERP SAP in large multinational company. Theoretical part is focused on general scenarios of euro adoption and progress of adoption of euro in Slovakia. Next chapter is describing methods of project management, definitions, subjects and stakeholders, organizational structures and phases of the project. Theoretical parts ends with description of ERP functionality, basic functional modules and general information about ERP SAP. Second, practical part is dedicated to project of conversion of euro in ERP SAP itself. Practical part begins with describing of company, organizational structure and IS architecture. Next chapters are focused on analysis of particular subprojects defined on scope of general euro conversion project, their schedule and reasoning of the sequence of each subproject.

Evaluation of CSR activities of chosen companies

This diploma thesis deals with a corporate social responsibility. The aim of the thesis is evaluation of CSR activities of two chosen companies. Theoretical part begins with the subject of corporate social responsibility, historical evolution of the term and modern definitions. Following that there is a description of the main three pillars of CSR, standards and methods, how is the CSR evaluated. Practical part is divided into 5 main chapters. The first one is a methodology of exploration, then evaluation of CSR activities of company ŠKODA AUTO, a.s. incl. questionnaire for employees. Evaluation of CSR activities of company Toyota Peugeot Citroen Automobile Czech s.r.o. is in the third chapter of the practical part. Following that there is a final evaluation of CSR activities for both companies for the three main pillars of CSR, evaluation of the questionnaire and recommendations from the author. Summary of the thesis is in conclusion of this work.
