The issues of juvenile criminal justice
Sovák, Ondřej ; Jelínek, Jiří (advisor) ; Vanduchová, Marie (referee)
of the Thesis "Problems in Juvenile Crimininal Justice" The thesis is dedicated to the juvenile criminal justice issues in the Czech Republic. The work is divided into three parts. The first part includes a historical view of the punishment of minors and the situation before the adoption of Act No. 218/2003 Coll. It then focuses on the complex legislative process of adopting the juvenile justice act and the reasons leading to its adoption. The largest space is devoted to individual amendments. The aim was to acquaint the reader with the development of the legislation with particular focus on the latest amendment introduced by Act No. 41/2009 Coll. which it has not been possible to pay attention to as appropriate in university theses so far. The second part describes the basic principles of juvenile criminal justice which are important for the understanding of the meaning of the Act. A study of basic principles can assist in drawing attention to controversial issues, or perhaps also assist in resolving them. At the same time, this part tries to highlight the ideological coherence of the whole Act which is reflected in its individual institutes. The third part is divided into four subparts by individual selected institutes of the Act. What is analyzed in detail are issues of the protection of minors'...

Optimization of rheological properties of the decontaminating hydrophobic microemulsions.
Běhávková, Vendula ; Doležal, Pavel (advisor) ; Šnejdrová, Eva (referee)
Optimalization of rheological properties of the decontaminating hydrofobic microemulsions Behavkova Vendula Aim: To prepare stable hydrofobic microemulsions which would be able to decontaminate chemical warfare agents. Methods: Testing and selecting individual components which together create a stable microemulsion. As a hydrophobic phase were tested tetrachloroethylene, toluene, decahydronaphthalene and heptane, as surfactants cationactive, anionactive and nonionic compounds and as cosurfactants butanol and hexanol. As a hydrophilic phase was at first tested water and then in stable microemulsions water was changed by alkaline solution of H2O2. Results: With water was prepared probably 800 emulsions. For testing with alkaline solution of H2O2 was chosen 24 best microemulsions according to their stability, optical brightness and amount of hydrophilic phase. With 0,1M alkaline solution of H2O2 was prepared 20 microemulsions and with the 1M concentration of the same solution was prepared 14 microemulsions. These microemulsions can represented a base of the decontaminating compounds in experiments in vivo. The attention was paid mainly to cationic surfactants, here was expected accelerating of the hydrolitic reaction because of micromedium at micellar surface, which is able to concentrate...

Large fixed price projects planning and analysis
Král, Miroslav ; Chlapek, Dušan (advisor) ; Reich, Pavel (referee)
A large number of different methods in the field of estimation of IS/IT projects have been developed in past years. Those methods should be used with regard to several factors. The choice and the application of an estimation method should take into consideration the current phase of each project and the wide variety of external factors, whose composition and intensity are very diverse and individual. The accuracy of the estimation considerably influences the success of the whole project. Therefore it is crucial to pay special attention to the mentioned phenomenon. The aim of this diploma thesis is to provide a comprehensive overview of the issue of the estimation of large projects for fixed price. The objective is particularly fulfilled by the provided overview and definitions of the chosen methods, the list of the most common mistakes and the interpretation of the results of an analysis concerning the portfolio of projects that were realised in an international company. The expected outcome of the diploma thesis is represented by the definition of the procedurally correct and comprehensive description of the creation of the price for a project with the fixed extent of work, which can be guaranteed with a reasonable rate of risk by a supplier. Another outcome of the thesis is the interpreted outputs of the analysis concerning the portfolio of projects realised by the international supplier of IS/IT products and services, which can be exploited for more effective estimations and project portfolio management.

Czechoslovak economical progress in years 1945 - 1948

This diploma work is concerned with the analysis of Czechoslovak economy in years 1945 -- 1947, where is focusing on the most important economical and political revisions and their relation to the transition of the democratic society of Czechoslovakia to the socialistic society. This period represent very important part of Czechoslovak history that merit particular attention. With the analysis of chosen economical revisions it would like to come to the answer on the question, whether the process of socialization of Czechoslovak society started in 1948 or in the period of years 1945 - 1947. The diploma work is analyzing the most important problems of that period and trying to advert to different possibilities of the economical and political process. The goal of the work is not a deep assay of revisions but just the fact of connectivity of these revisions to the transition of the whole Czechoslovak society.

Memory model for a human-like agent
Pešková, Klára ; Neruda, Roman (referee) ; Brom, Cyril (advisor)
In this thesis we introduce a model of episodic memory for a human-like agent, who is designed according to Gibson's theory of affordances. Episodic memory represents personal history of an agent. It stores memories related to particular places and moments, their storage and retrieval depends on subjective feelings and current goals. In this thesis we discuss the believability of the agent as well as some technical issues concerning memory size and memory access time. As a part of our work, we implemented a human-like agent with hierarchical reactive planning, including some features of Belief-Desire-Intention. The agent remembers only important things, i.e. things which passed through the attention filter. Thanks to this filter, memory size can be significantly reduced. At the end of the thesis we introduce results of some tests, which were performed in our prototype implementation.

Children Running Away from Facilities Providing Institutionalized and Protective Child Care
Houfková, Aneta ; Čedík, Miloslav (advisor) ; Zelinková, Olga (referee)
Numbers of cases of children running away from children care and protective care institutions in the Czech Republic have increased over past years. However, not enough attention is given to the topic of runaways. The goal of this paper is to introduce running away in broader theoretical perspectives and to explore methods of work with runaway children. The theoretical part of this thesis deals with the definition of running away and presents the model of runaway process, types of runaways, consequences of runaway behavior, and recommended intervention methodologies. It also presents a brief characteristics of children in children and protective care institutions and legal framework of the system. In the research part of the paper contents of 11 semi-structured interviews with workers and representatives of children and protective care institutions were analyzed, coded and grouped by topics and categories. Following methodology of qualitative research, the analysis shows overview of what is perceived as running away, the child care workers beliefs and attitudes towards running away, prevention and intervention methods and services available.

Coaching - the part of professional development

This work deals with subject of coaching as a part of the professional development. The first part is devoted to the theoretical initial data of the coaching. There are summarily described definitions that can be found in specialized literature. A strong attention has been given also to historical and philosophical principles of coaching. Having presented this essential information the work defines coaching compared with its related branches as consultancy, training, mentoring or psychotherapy. In a separate chapter, the process of coaching, its principles, stages and basic models have been treated. Two main types of coaching are mentioned in brief. A more extensive chapter has been dedicated to the personality characteristics of a coach and his function depending on his position in the company. Conclusion of the first part is focused on questions of ethics in the coaching process. The second half of this work is represented by a practical part describing two research studies - a qualitative and a quantitative. In the course of the qualitative research there have been obtained information and opinions on coaching in semi-structured interviews from the leading Czech coaches. The quantitative research is focused on analysis of efficiency perception of the coaching as a method by persons that took use of it in...

The thesis is concerned with several areas of industrial design in the 1930s, with the main attention paid to technical qualities, functionality, and modernity. I try to portray their reception of the contemporaries, based on the preserved Czechoslovak texts. I depicted only several fields that represent two areas: design products for the exteriors and interiors. Territorial extent is given according to the products' link to Czechoslovakia and its citizens.

Formant field characteristics of low vowels in standard British English
Syslová, Jana ; Skarnitzl, Radek (referee) ; Volín, Jan (advisor)
Standard British English vowels have always drawn ample attention among phoneticians. It is certainly due to the fact that Standard British English served as a referential variety not only for educational purposes. However, few of the studies analysed data drawn from natural connected speech. Mostly artificial conditions created for measuring the acoustic properties of vowel formant frequencies resulted in vowels relatively neatly separated, whereas studies of connected speech usually reveal considerable overlaps between the regions of vowels in the vowel space. Earlier studies have reported on the effects of different immediate environment on vowels, yet these also derive from controlled speech recorded in laboratory conditions. Data collected in this manner are further used to describe vowel changes over certain time periods and they also serve in research of vowel perception. In comparison to that, the aim of the present study was to analyse the formant field characteristics of Standard British English vowels in a representative sample of connected speech. The study is confined only to the low vowel region of Standard British English mainly because of the extent of analysis that would have to be conducted if all the vowels were included. Besides that, the region of the English low vowels has a special...
