The main objective of the thesis is to deal with business strategy of a small company operating on retail trade market. First of all, retail trade as such is defined and its classification according to Czech Statistical Office is presented. In addition to this, important economic indicators of big vs. small retail enterprises in Czech Republic are confronted. The thesis also describes retail companies' business structure and lists examples of the biggest retail vendors and alliances on the Czech market. The other part of the thesis is concerned particularly with such companies and alliances, focusing on their business strategy. Finally, in the main part of the thesis, the strategy of big companies and alliances is faced with a strategy of a small retail outlet, which forms part of the international retail chain called SPAR. Basic facts about this retail outlet and description of its business strategy are completed by a research regarding the customers' satisfaction with the outlet.

The use of UML diagrams in practice
Rejnková, Petra ; Buchalcevová, Alena (advisor) ; Mackovič, Ondřej (referee)
Unified modelling language UML is a result of a long-time effort to create a unified graphical notation that could be used during object-oriented development of information systems. The main aim of this thesis is to characterize UML 2.0 diagrams and show the examples of their usage in earliest phases of a development of a specific application. Next aim is to unite recommendations concerning diagram modelling and last but not least describe the main features and the development of UML and name changes that occurred in UML 2.0 compared to UML 1.x. The aims of this thesis were reached by studying available theoretical findings and practical recommendations and by consulting the modelled application with their developers and users. The diagrams were created using a trial version of Enterprise Architect 7.1. The contribution of the thesis is in the practical creation of UML diagrams based on previous consultations with the developers and the users of the application and summary of the most important information and best practices, which should be followed. The thesis is divided into two main parts. The first part concentrates on the most important features of UML, its development and comparison of UML 1.x to UML 2.0. The second part describes UML 2.0 diagrams in detail. Each chapter of this part characterizes a chosen diagram and includes recommendations, which should be followed so that the diagram is understandable not only to its creator, but to all people who come into contact with it. Afterwards, the mentioned facts and recommendations are used to create diagrams describing a specific application.

Radio in the Netherlands
Mračková, Jana ; Maršík, Josef (advisor) ; Moravec, Václav (referee)
The purpose of this thesis (Radio in the Netherlands) was to compare the radio broadcasting systems in the Czech Republic and in the Netherlands, specifically in the relation to broadcasting for specific groups of population. Radio in the Netherlands is divided into four chapters. Chapter I presents the history of broadcasting in the Netherlands. The Dutch and the Czech radio broadcasting have a different history and structure, which reflects in the public broadcasting for specific groups as well as for the majority. The Dutch publicservice radio started with broadcasting for several divided groups of the society due to the splitting of the Dutch society into separate groups in the zo" century. Publieke Omroep of the 21SI century attempts to integrate the society better through integration of all groups of the Dutch society within its broadcasting (programs forMoslems as well as Hindus and Catholics, news in Arabic and Turkish) as well as trough universal programs of the organization NOS. Publieke Omroep states as its main goal to represent all parts of the society. This issue is also thoroughly described in the media laws. Targeting specific groups of population - however with varying success with the listeners - is possible thanks to the system of funding of the Public Broadcaster, the strong position of...

Offer analysis of the travel agency Melissa Travel
Sedmíková, Jana ; Petrů, Zdenka (advisor) ; Straková, Ivana (referee)
Bachelor thesis pursues the offer analysis of the travel agency Melissa Travel. The opening part is based on theoretical conception, where all the basic terms are defined. There is specified the market area, where the power belongs to the travel agency. The advantages coming out of free market are highlighted. There are determined the elementary legislative conditions, that necessarily must be followed by travel agency. The term "offer" is defined and clarified both on the general and detailed level. Practical part is based on product analysis. The product is meant by services, that are prepared by the travel agency Melissa Travel and offered to it's clients. There are investigated basic services and it's complements as well as product price, that is seen as a specific part of the offer. Outer analysis is exploring the ways of distribution and propagation used by travel agency Melissa Travel. On the basis of accomplished analysis the profil of travel agency Melissa Travel is defined and the target type (the client, that travel agency orientates it's activity on) of it's customer is specified.

Family Centre - the Resocialization of Mothers-Drug Addict
Hřebačková, Markéta ; Dočkal, Jan (advisor) ; Radimecký, Josef (referee)
The work is monitoring activities and usefulness of Centre for family dealing with mothers on psychotropic addictive drugs and their re-socialization. For the possibility of examination of the programme usefulness for the target group, the single steps of the therapy are shown in a particular client case as followed during the three stages of the project. I also asked fifty clients about eleven questions. The aims of the Centre for family were the criterions for my choice of questions. The inquiry is monitoring the achieved level of re-socialization of clients. The contribution and reasonability of this project has been shown as based on the followed case, figures obtained in the inquiry and the Centre for Family results. The clients who got through the whole programme are stabilized, re-socialized and able to be a part of the society which is very significant for the growth and development of their children. This work is focused on the Centre for Family because of its uniqueness among the other institutions dealing with the drug problems. The mother and the child as an only aim is a contribution to the topic. Powered by TCPDF (www.tcpdf.org)

Taxation of income from employment
Křížová, Alžběta ; Karfíková, Marie (advisor) ; Vybíral, Roman (referee)
Taxation of income from employment This diploma thesis deals with the system of taxation of income tax. First part of this work describes important terms necessary for understanding the tax system. Systematically at first I describe the term of tax, than I describe the structural elements of tax, income tax in general and after that I can describe the taxation of income from employment. This thesis tries to comprehensively deal with all institutes, whose knowledge is important for the right calculation of the tax and the right tax payment. Considerable space in this work dedicates to the tax base and the effective tax rate. After describing what I have mentioned above, this thesis aims to assess the tax system and think about some other solutions. This thesis comes with a specific proposal in the area of defining the tax base. The conclusion of this thesis is that the tax system is very complicated. If we would like to make it easier, it is necessary to ask ourselves what should be the goal of the changes. Whether the result should be the same tax revenue, covered by the system complexity, simplifying the system and lower tax revenue, or maintaining the current tax revenue and sincere effort to simplify the system. Furthermore the thesis points out the fact, that schools should include some basic tax...

Unit Trust Evaluation in Light of Multiple-Criteria Decision Making
Kaňoková, Jana ; Kuncová, Martina (advisor) ; Fíglová, Zuzana (referee)

Operational Parameters of LED and their Modelling
Pavelka, Tomáš ; Novák,, Tomáš (referee) ; Gašparovský, Dionýz (referee) ; Baxant, Petr (advisor)
Doctoral thesis deals with parameters of LED light sources and their static and dynamic changes due to variable operational conditions. Firstly there is briefly described the history of light emitting diodes, that brought LED from unintentional observation of luminescence to light source, which is generally used through the whole area of lighting techniques. Thesis focuses on light parameters analysis, which are specific for semiconductor light sources and their mutual relations. These relations in compliance with understanding the principles of light emission in semiconductor light sources enable establishing of basic connections and effects usable for LED behaviour model. Mutual relations of LED parameters and influencing factors are verified by measurement of chosen testing samples. For deeper understanding of diode parameter influencing mechanisms there are analysed current degradation models including degradation of partial components. On the basis of these facts there is created a model of LED luminaire operating with LED parameters together with cooling system that represent the integral part of the luminaire. Impact of supply drivers is also studied, because they are necessary for LED operation. Designed model supports the area of static changes of light parameters, as well as the dynamic changes of output parameters. Presented model is verified by testing measurements at basic operational states and partially outside of the common operational limits. There are also presented the possibilities of real use of the model that involve the evaluation of designed luminaire for specific light sources, searching for optimal operational limits, optimization of luminaire heatsink or using public lighting systems for regulation of electricity grid load fluctuations.
