Kaizrová, Linda ; Schneidrová, Dagmar (advisor)
The objective of this thesis was to monitor the influence of cognitive-behavioral therapy on weight reduction and dietary habits change within the courses of STOB (Stop obesity). These courses are aimed at overweight reduction and their programs include cognitive-behavioral therapy, which is a method of psychological therapy. The study data was obtained in STOB courses that took place in September 2003, January and April 2004. The overall duration of the courses was 12 weeks, sessions took place once a week and consisted of 90 minutes of theory - cognitive-behavioral therapy - and 60 minutes of individually adjusted physical activity. Three instruments were used for data collection: "3 day recall - printed version of a questionnaire" (records of dietary habits throughout all the day), "Frequency and popularity of comestibles questionnaire" and "Physical activity standardized questionnaire." Data was acquired from 420 individuals taking part in those courses. Criteria for inclusion were BMI over 25 and female sex. Participants were divided in 3 groups. "Drop-outs" were the ones that took part in 6 or less lessons of the course, there were 120 women included in this group. Remaining 300 individuals formed the group of graduates. The absolvent group was then divided in a group of "successful...

Developmental kinesiology of a child suffering from cerebral palsy until adulthood
Janotová, Lenka ; Bartlová, Petra (advisor) ; Kláserová, Kamila (referee)
My diploma thesis is divided into two parts, theoretical and practical. The former consists of three parts. Firstly, I was dealing with the history and etiology of cerebral palsy. Secondly, Vojta's method is being described as the main method in the therapy of cerebral palsy. Thirdly, kinesiological etaps are characterised in the development of a child since her birth till her one year. Practical part deals with the case reports of three people. The first one represents an analysis of a female, who suffered from cerebral palsy in her childhood. The second deals with the analysis and photos of a young male, where I didn't expect from any anomaly on his kinetics and its function in his childhood and adulthood. The third one represents the diagnosis of central coordination disorder during Vojta's method and the evaluation of the child's kinesiological development in 60 different time periods. Finally, I am dealing with the facts which I found out during my research.

Krčmář, Dalibor ; Kvaček, Robert (referee) ; Čechurová, Jana (advisor)
This paper deals with Josef Kalfus and his participation in the trial of the so-called Protectoral Government. The finance minister Kalfus and his four colleagues - cabinet members in the days of the Nazi occupation of the Czech Lands - were committed for trial about a year after the end of the Second World War. It was one of the biggest political legal proces ses in Czech history. The trial began on April 29th , 1946 and the sentence was pas sed on the last day of July In 1946. Even though the court was under considerable political pressure (especially the communists were exerting pressure on senate), in the end nobody was sentenced to death. The Minister of Agriculture Adolf Hrubý was condemned to life imprisonment; the Minister of Justice Jaroslav Krejčí was given a 25-year sentence, the Minister of the lnterior Richard Bienert 3-year sentence, the Transport Minister Jindřich Kamenický 5-year sentence. The former minister Josef Kalfus was found guilty, however he was absolved from punishment. The court admitted that he cooperated with the Czech resistance on territory of the Protectorate of Bohemia and Moravia and supported the Czechoslovaks in exile.

The evaluation of subutex therapy in the contact centre in Most

Lipid lowering treatment substantially reduces the risk of cardiovascular diseases. The effects of lipid lowering go far beyond limiting the extent of atheroslcerotic lesions and decreasing the severity of atherosclerotic stenoses. Recently recognised effects of cholesterol on plaque stability, endothelial function, thrombosis, and plaque inflammation have been subject to intensive research during the past two decades. The effect lipid lowering treatment on the various aspects of the plaque development are being investigated in search of novel therapies to reduce the risk of ahterosclerosis. In this work, we examined cell adhesion molecules, microvascular reactivity and metalloproteinase PAPP-A in patients with hypercholesterolemia and investigated the effect of lipid lowering with atorvastatin and LDL-apheresis. Leukocyte and endothelial adhesion molecules mediate leukocyte recruitment into subendothelial space, contributing thus to plaque inflammation. PAPP-A is a protease which has been related to plaque instability and acute coronary events; it's role in stable atherosclerotic lesions hasn't been studied yet Microvascular reactivity is supposed to reflect endothelial function in the microvascular bed; the knowledge of the effect of hyperlipidemia on microvasculature is currently limited. Patients with...

Different Points of View on Children Born with Mental Disabilities
Havelková, Eva ; Šiška, Jan (advisor) ; Zemková, Jaroslava (referee)
My diploma work called "Various aspects on a birth of mental disabled child" ties together with my bachelor work, which I wrote at Evangelic Theological Faculty at Charles Univerzity. In this bachelor work I was interested in the basical rights of mental disabled people. I taught the topic of a right to live. The meaning of this question grows with the developement of new biotechnology as an artificial insemination, an antenatal diagnostics, a miscarriage and a gene therapy. The other important question talks about the mother rights. These questions traditonally pronounce physicians, philosophers, theologians and sociologists of medicine. However special pedagogues should as well think about and participate in discussions about this topic. Special education comes to the new period with currently knowledges of not only human genome. That is why I target the bioethic sphere, different opinions and possibilities of special pedagogue's treating. in my diploma work, because bioethic spere touch the special education. I come out from historical point of view, from attitudes formulated in our history and from society attitudes to disabled individuals. The work of special pedagogues in this area should focus at disabled people and their parents who decided to take care of the child and at people who are just...

At present, depressive disorders affect a considerable proportion of population, their incidence showing an increasing tendency in the developed world. Depression mostly afflicts people in the age of 25-35. It occurs in females twice as often as in males. Depression involves an intense subjective suffering accompanied with a disruption of normal everyday functioning. Moreover, when compared with the healthy population, there exists a thirty times higher danger of suicide in the people affected with depression. The illness unfortunately tends to become chronic, the probability of recurrence of an episode being 50%. Furthermore, some patients suffering from the depressive disorder do not adequately respond to an antidepressant therapy; we call such patients treatment-resistant. There certainly exists a close relation between the endocrine and the central nervous system, most endocrine disorders being potentially accompanied with changes of psyche and vice versa. With affective disorders the most frequently reported disruption involves an interference with the function of the hypothalamicpituitary- adrenocortical (HPA) axis, though various studies repeatedly acknowledged also deviations of the hypothalamic-pituitary-thyroid (HPT) axis. The most frequent findings comprise an altered serum thyrotropin response...
