Mining limits and their effect on labour market in the region of Most
Pícha, Tomáš ; Kotrusová, Miriam (advisor) ; Geissler, Hana (referee)
This Bachelor Thesis is about the mining limits for brown coal mining at the region of Most and problems that could arise if there was a decrease in mining in the region. Although the issue is discussed more and more often, it cannot be considered as solved. This work should serve as deeper insight into the problem and it is primarily trying to answer the questions about potential social issues that are connected with the mining and its possible ending. One of core parts is an analysis of subjects at institutional level. Its purpose is an evaluation of solutions that were suggested by participating subjects.

Radošinský, Adrián ; Žákovská, Karolina (advisor) ; Sobotka, Michal (referee)
Climate system protection from the legal point of view The global warming is one of the most serious and acute problem, that is touching all the global society. Growing of the greenhouse gasses is evoking the change of climate system, especially the warming of the Atmosphere and the Earth. In the last 100 years the temperature rises, what cause a lot of problems not just on the environment, but impacts on human health and society. Many of recent scientist studies clearly indicate, that climate changes are a result of human activities. Consequences of the global warming have been observed for several years, included rising global average temperature, rising of the sea level, melting glaciers and severity of extremes such as heat waves, cold waves, storms, floods and droughts. To preclude this consequences, there is necessary a global action with participation of every country. The aim of the diploma thesis is an introduction to the reader create a picture of the functioning of the climate system and its changes, causes and consequences of these changes and clarify the activities to protect, whether it is the activities of international, multinational or the Czech Republic. Finally, I will try to assess the individual activities and measures, including measures of adaptation, or to compare them and...

Personality in spiny mice (genus Acomys)
Müllerová, Lenka ; Frynta, Daniel (advisor) ; Sedláček, František (referee)
The differences in behaviour of animals are not found only between species or populations but also between individuals within a population. If individuals differ in their behaviour constantly in time and across various situations, then we find diverse personality among them. The aim of my diploma thesis was to seek personality in spiny mice (Acomys cahirinus). For verification of stability of behaviour (of the same age) in various situations we tested animals in series of behavioural tests focusing on activity, exploration and anxiety. Every test was repeated twice with each individual in order to verify the stability of their behaviour in time. It was demonstrated that the behaviour of experimental animals is repeatable across different situations in time (the results of tests were correlated between each other as well as between two series), thus we confirmed the existence personality in the animals. However the personality does not participate on the results of individual tests by a great degree, its occurance is more evident from the series of more tests. Animals differ from each other primarily in coping with new situations. Keywords: personality, series of behavioural tests, PCA

Determination of genetic markers for kidney complications of diabetes mellitus.
Vedralová, Marcela ; Kotrbová - Kozak, Anna Katarzyna (advisor) ; Kalousová, Marta (referee)
In this work we chose to study genes whose protein products significantly affect calcium- phosphate metabolism in kidneys and are hypothesized to be involved in the pathogenesis of diabetes as well as kidney damage. Vitamin D receptor (VDR) belongs to a large family of nuclear receptors and transcription factors. VDR is expressed in many cells in different tissues and activation of this receptor by its ligand 1,25 - dihydroxyvitamin D3 affects expression of many genes. Using restriction endonucleases Bsm I, Fok I, Taq I and Apa I, there were identified polymorphic sites in VDR gene that were found to be associated with certain chronic diseases, like type 1 and type 2 diabetes and lung carcinoma. Parathyreoid hormone is one of the most important regulators of calcium and phosphate metabolism. Allelic polymorphism of PTH gene involves B/b and D/d alleles that can participate in pathogenesis of kidney complications as well. Aims: We aimed to determine whether there is a difference in frequency of certain combinations of VDR and PTH genotypes between group of diabetic patients with kidney complications and diabetic patients without kidney complications. We also assessed influence of single-nucleotide polymorphisms at VDR gene mRNA expression. Methods: DNA was isolated by salt-extraction method and...

By comparative approach and the textual analysis of the contemporary textbooks it examines the following issue areas: 1) the legitimation strategies of the imperial narrative of history, 2) the participants of the political action within and outside this narrative, 3) the description of the political structure of the empire with respect to the role of an individual as well as to the ethnic, religious and cultural heterogeneity of both empires, 4) the formation of the attitudes to the concept of politics.

Societal Driving Forces of LUCC in the Boží Dar Model Area, Krušné hory Mts., in 1842-2009
Kašková, Magdalena ; Fendrychová, Lenka (referee) ; Jeleček, Leoš (advisor)
The thesis deals with land use development in the model area Boží Dar, situated near the Czech-German border in the Krušné hory mountains, from 1845 to 2009. Based on an analysis of data taken from the LUCC Czechia Database, changes in land use patterns are explained and the primary driving forces, particularly societal forces, behind these changes are explored. This was made possible by analysing the historic-geographical development of the territory in question, focusing in particular on the last twenty years. Tendencies in land use development were similar to general trends for Czechia; however, they were more significant in the studied area. Major changes took place between 1949 and 1990. Besides the exodus of the Czech Germans after WW II, the primary factor of land use change was isolation, caused by the establishment of a border zone. Changes of similar importance, recorded in the 2000 - 2009 period, were caused by unique economic developments in Boží Dar. These are based on support for sustainable tourism, effectively drawing on financial resources from the EU and the active participation of local government administration. The most significant change was a decrease in permanent grasslands. At present, their overall area is increasing again, due to the renewed use of waterlogged land for...

Civic society in Slovakia. Focus on the local level
Dobrucký, Martin ; Bureš, Jan (advisor) ; Polášek, Martin (referee)
The civic society is one of the basic elements of democracy. It reflects how democracy is incorporated in the society and in its citizens' awareness. It uncovers if/how it is taken and accepted by citizens. The true civil society requires participation and an active attitude from citizens who change themselves from a passive mass into real co-originators of the policies. The presented thesis focuses on the study of a citizen and its role in the democracy of Slovakia. It analyses the behavior of a citizen on the local level, where he/she has the closest contact with the policy. It is the local level where he/she has the greatest chance of participation in the policy making processes.

Fejfarová Jana The History of Nursing Profession in the Mlada Boleslav Region Bachelor thesis This thesis surveys the evolution of the nursing in the Mlada Boleslav region in a chronological order. My goal is to help improve the status of the nursing profession in our country. The thesis is divided into three main parts. The first part deals with history of nursing profession in the world as well as in the Czech Republic and it is an actual introduction into the history of the nursing care. The second part, then, deals with the evolution of the nursing in the Mlada Boleslav region. Through the study of historical archives, literature as well as interviews with actual participants maps the development of modern nursing. The chronological comparison shows that the evolution of nursing in the Czech republic from its very beginning kept up with the nursing evolution in the world and that the nursing care in Mlada Boleslav copied the newest knowledge with a few years difference. The work concludes with a final part which is a probe into present - day nurses' knowledge about the history of nursing profession.

The present dissertation is focused on the development of the party systems on the local level of political decision making with the aim to verify applicability of the party systems theory. The dissertation is divided into two parts - the theoretical bases and the thesis itself. The theoretical part deals with the definitions of the fundamental concepts, such as a political party, a municipality, municipal administration, the municipal election system, and last but not at least it is focused on the party systems and their applicability in practice. The practical part of the dissertation is approached as a case study dealing with the town of Nýrsko. It contains a short characterization of the basic demographic and socio-economic indicator of the municipality. The thesis searches for the main factors having an influence on the party system in the municipality of Nýrsko, it inquires about the political area for the consequent study of the political system, the extent of political participation, the political plurality and the inception of political parties. Then the applicability of the party system theory and the role of political parties in the local political area are researched.
