Art group 12/15 Better Late than Never
Jungová, Markéta ; Potůčková, Alena (referee) ; Lahoda, Vojtěch (advisor)
The free art group called "12/15 Pozdě, ale přece" was founded on the 3th of June 1987 in Václav Bláha's studio. However, the beginnings of collective activities of its members are to be found already in the first half of the 70's when these artists started to exhibit their art together. During those beginnings and through all the time of normalization, too, they found their place in exhibition rooms of the alternative (unofficial) culture. Hence, they had no chance to present themselves adequately enough. Besides their close friendship, it was one of the reasons of establishing an art group. The members of 12/15 were not unified by any collective art program. It was a group of individuals freely creating and thinking. Its founding members were: Václav Bláha, Vladimír Novák, Petr Pavlík, Michael Rittstein, Ivan Kafka, Ivan Ouhel, Jiří Beránek, Kurt Gebauer, Jaroslav Dvořák and Tomáš Švéda. Since their second exhibition (1988) Jiří Načeradský become a new member, and since the third one (1990) Jiří Sopko. Gradually this circle has expanded by joining a cultural worker Jiří Halík, and a group manager Josef Vomáčka. During the years 1988-1996 they organized 7 collective exhibitions. To each of them some propagation materials were created: posters, flags, invitation cards and so on; an author of their graphical...

OBJECTIVES: The work will summarize our current knowledge of the film music composer Zdeněk Liška and create a list of literature on film music complemented with the author's comments. The main objective is a complex analysis of the music in Marketa Lazarová. This does not include the description of the relation between the sound track and picture. The thesis will provide a functional analysis of the music as a part of the structure of the film's expressional devices. METHODICS: The method chosen is a detailed study of available sources on Zdeněk Liška, complex analysis of a wide range of sources on the film Marketa Lazarová (including a copy of the musical score manuscript, handwritten notes by František Vláčil, several versions of the script ranging from the manuscript to a book release) complemented by interviews with close colleagues of Zdeněk Liška and František Vláčil, who were also present at the film production. Another part of the selected methodics is the creation of a system of viewpoints used for the analysis (musical expression, hierarchy of the musical numbers, form of the whole as well as individual parts, use of text, use of silence, use of musical objects internal and external to the picture). SUMMARY: Zdeněk Liška created a complex musical structure that corresponds well to the character...

The contexts of the "aesthetic mentality" of the early avant-garde
Beracková, Dáša ; Vojvodík, Josef (advisor) ; Papoušek, Vladimír (referee) ; Zajac, Peter (referee)
The doctoral thesis The Contexts of the 'Aesthetic Mentality' of the Early Avant-garde takes a close look at the philosophical and aesthetic concepts that formed a paradigmatic change in the art and literature discourse at the beginning of the 20th Century, identified with the birth of the avant-garde aesthetic. With an analysis of the unclear term of Expressionism, traditionally used to describe the character of Czech early avant-garde literature, the thesis refers to contemporary research about the relationship between the avant-gardists and philosophical reflections on the search for an essence of reality. This critique on the fin de sicle spirit at the turn of the century formed a new kind of art and literature discourse where aesthetic strategies were often identified with a philosophical method. In this context an affinity can be seen between Josef Čapek's concept of modernity and the theory of artistic creativity by Wilhelm Worringer, and Karel Čapek's critique on Bergson's concept of life and his liking for Georg Simmels' philosophy of "perspective relativism". The subsequent step to an acceptance of the avant-garde concept is represented by the motif of the "intelligent eye" in J. Čapek's short prose works for the Almanach na rok 1914 (Almanac for 1914). These texts relate to a key topic of the...

Comparison of selected mobile Internet connection
Fialová, Ivana ; Toman, Prokop (advisor) ; Zbirovský, Petr (referee)
The topic of presented thesis is the subject of mobile Internet connectivity in the Czech Republic. The text is divided into two main parts. The first theoretical part is focused on an individual description of the technologies (GSM, GPRS, EDGE, UMTS and HSDPA) which are being offered in the Czech Republic by the operators. The greatest emphasis is put on a description of UMTS and HSDPA. The second part is practical; it describes the offers of each respective Czech operator focusing on the third-generation network or particularly the network operator with the highest connection speed. The thesis compares current offers against those in the year 2006. The next practical part is aimed at creating a methodology for testing mobile connections and its applications for UMTS and CDMA operator's tariffs at T-Mobile and Telefónica O2. The contribution of this work is to provide a comprehensive picture of a mobile Internet connection in the means of technological background and practical applications.

The Appliances Immunity to Short Voltage Dips and Interruptions
Bok, Jaromír ; Beláň, Anton (referee) ; Santarius, Pavel (referee) ; Drápela, Jiří (advisor)
This Ph.D. thesis deals with problems about voltage dips and short voltage interruptions, generally named as voltage events, which origin in power supply networks and have a negative influence for all connected electric appliances. In this thesis single phase appliances are considered. These problems closely relate with area of electromagnetic compatibility which solve all questions about correct operation of different types of electric appliances during electromagnetic disturbances impact. Voltage events are ones of the many types of electromagnetic disturbances. The connection between disturbance sources and sensitive electric appliances is created by power supply lines. The immunity of electric appliances to voltage dips and short interruptions is currently tested via voltage dips with strictly defined parameters which are intended by class of electromagnetic environment in which the usage of electric appliance is recommended. During immunity tests the rectangular shape of voltage dips is preferred. The main descriptive parameters of testing voltage events are the residual voltage and the event time duration. But voltage dips and short interruptions defined by this way do not closely relate with parameters of real voltage dips and interruptions occurred in public supply system where parameters of voltage dips are variable. Moreover in the power supply system there are many of others voltage parameters which can have a significant influence to immunity level of connected electric appliances. This Ph.D. thesis also deals with finding more voltage event parameters. Although the voltage events occurrence in the power supply system is not limited and voltage events are considered only as informative voltage parameter it is important to monitor voltage events occurrence. The monitoring device has to be able to operate for ling time period and it has to detect parameters of voltage events with adequate accuracy. The accuracy of detected event parameters and the detection delay depends on the detection algorithm characteristics. That is why the part of this thesis relates with a comparison of several detection algorithms and their abilities to correct detection of voltage event parameters. The main purpose of this thesis is the proposal of connection between classification of voltage dips and short interruptions occurred in power supply system with the classification of electric appliances immunity to these voltage events. On the base of many of provided electric appliances immunity tests and also on the base of long time period voltage events monitoring the special compatibility levels are proposed in this thesis. The observation of proposed compatibility levels will bring the increasing level of reliable operation of all connected electric appliances.
