Position of Old People in our Society and Representation of their Interests

Diploma thesis "Position of Old People in our Society and Representation of their Interests" appears from demographic ageing of population, which consequence is increasing number of people older than 65 years. The target group of my diploma thesis is everyone who draws old-age pensions or everyone who reached retirement age. Diploma thesis also deals with how media and public think of the demographic ageing of society, old age and old people themselves. There are mentioned the frequent myths and stereotypes which are related to reality, to the real image of old people and their lives. The image of old people in media is also described in my thesis. The core goal of my thesis is the analysis of representation of old people interests. The analysis describes the activities of the different actors involved in issues of old people. The most important actors are old people, organizations of old people (Council of old people, The Union of Pensioners), Council of Government for old people and ageing population, the Ministry of Labor and Social Affairs, political parties, government and organizations in European Union. By using detailed insights into the above-mentioned issues, the submitted thesis can draw its attention mainly to the topics of chronology based on Radiocarbon dating, testimony of change of the grave equipment in the observed period of time, and properties of burial inventories. Moreover, results of field excavations conducted by the author of so-far the most extensive cemetery of the Bell- Beaker culture in Bohemia at Vlíněves, Mělník district, have been a!so introduced and utilized in this thesis. ANNOTATION: Diploma thesis focuses on the issue of substitution programs serving his sentence of imprisonment provided to drug users. Seeks to bring the situation of drug users in Imprisonment. The main aim of the thesis is to characterize the substitution programs in terms of general information, in terms of their development and law, particularly in terms of providers and users themselves. Seeks to obtain information from providers of substitution treatment in prison and trying to benefit from data that would be representative of the quality of treatment. Accomplishing its goals, the thesis attempts to contribute to the problem of substitution programs, the target group of drug users in the exercise of custodial sentences. An insight to bastard childs problematic in Bohemia, based on the research of selected Church birth records of Kostelec nad Černými lesy lordship between years 1785-1873

The tittle of this dissertation is The Probe into Probleme of illegitimated Children in Czech on the Basis of Research selected ecclesiatistic Registers on Dominion Kostelec nad Černými Lesy between 1785 and 1873. This study presents one of the most prodigies in the family life of our ancestors. The first theoretical part is composed of ten chapters with more subchapters. The second chapter is about archive materials and literature by czech and foreign authors. The third chapter consists in description of historical and ethnological names of illegitimated children, their mothers, their fathers and abortus, pragnancy etc. The next essay talks about prenuptial sex, possibility of meeting young single people, opinions their parents and rural society on, for example, virginity. The fourth chapter is generally about illegitimated children and their parents, their nuptial and reasons of their positions in the society. The next essay consists in description of crime of the past - infanticide. The subsequent theme is about natality theories, especially malthusianism. C-store: storing relational data by columns

Non standard approach to the implementation of relational databases this work implements a database system storing the data by columns instead of rows. It is based on the C Store system design and is limited only to the fundamental solution issues. Two areas are being solved: the initial creation of the database, including import of static database data from another source, and querying. The database does not store the data in tables but in projections groups of columns of the same length. By using this database layout it is possible to evaluate queries faster than with database storing by rows as the database engine does not have to read irrelevant columns. Querying is allowed by providing an execution plan consisting of the C Store query operators that work with columns or projections. Composition of these operators can replace queries in SQL notation. This work sets the rules of behavior of various operators, implements these operators and also mentions the optimization of the execution plan. The optimization also includes a C Store system extension providing direct access to data items, which in some cases radically reduce the amount of IO operations. The practical output of the work is a library that provides a programming interface for database access and manipulation.

Carbocyclic analogues of nucleosides and nonnucleoside inhibitors of thymidine phosphorylase

!ntroduction Analogues ofnucleic acid components belong to the most successful classes oftherapeutics. Extensive modifications ofnucreobases, nucreosides and nucleotides led to the discovery ofa huge group of compounds with remarkable biological activity. The most important are perhaps the effects on various severe diseases such as cancer, leukemia or viral infectrons. The essential aim ofthis Thesis was the preparation ofbiologically active compounds related to the nucleic acid components. Since the carbocyclic anďogues ofnucleosides have been a long-time interest of our group, the first part of this work was devoted to the development of practical synthetic routes towards their new derivatives and to the synthesis of the novel analogues for further biological activity screening. However, the preliminary biological tests of the prepared compounds uncovered very promising lead to the compretely different field than it was expected. During the primer studies, I synthesized several 5,6-disubstituted uracils, initially prepared just as moder compounds for development of nover synthetic approaches towards carbocyclic nucleosides, that showed to posses outstanding inhibitory activity against thymidine phosphorylase. Web application for programming student training

Goal of this master thesis is to describe possible solutions for compilation, execution and unit testing of user programs written in Java hosted on web server. Another goal is to design and to implement web application which would allow students to write and to test simple programs during Java lessons. Chosen method for achieving first goal is studying relevant resources, mainly documentation and source code of projects which implement dynamic program execution. To accomplish the second goal the author uses requirements analysis and principles of agile methodology of extreme programming. Parts of UML notation are used to make the design part clear. First part is focused on theory behind dynamic program execution in Java, class loading, compilation of source code and software security. Overview of tools built upon these basic concepts follows. These are dynamic module systems, software testing tools, build automation tools and continuous integration servers. Previously mentioned tools implement dynamic program execution. Third group consists of tools for source code quality analysis which could be considered as components of application for education purposes that is to be implemented. The author summarizes the task of new application development and performs requirement analysis in the practical part. Internal structure of future application is briefly discussed by the author. The demonstration of detailed design is derived from one of user stories. Overview of tools and technologies used during the analysis, design and implementation is also part of the text. Integral part of this thesis is web application hosted on http://kitscm.vse.cz/tppv/. Authors contribution to the topic is synthesis of existing solutions to problems neccessary to analyze, design and implement working web application for program testing and the result of these processes itself.

Twice exceptional children in pedagogical and psychological practise

In the theoretical part of this thesis the aim is to map problems of gifted children focusing on the highly specific field of so called twice-exceptional children, i.e. gifted children with disabilities. Keeping in mind relative newness and poor familiarity it is essential to bring up the theme of the dual exceptionality in a wider context. Therefore the theoretical part begins with defining of related basic terms - intelligence, giftedness, talent and creativity. Chapters concerning phenomena of twice-exceptional children are inserted at the end of the theoretical part after general summarizing information about gifted children - their characteristics, development, identification, education and so on. These chapters which directly refer to studied group of gifted children round off the theoretical part and concurrently form some transition to an empirical part. The empirical part of the thesis comes out from pedagogical and psychological practice. Its object is to present concrete expressions, the link with development and influences of educational approach along the most significant subgroups of twice-exceptional children through selected casuistries. Kvalita pečovatelských služeb na Rakovnicku

The thesis "Quality of home help services in Rakovnicko" deals with the quality of home help services in the region of former administrative district Rakovník in the Central Bohemia Region of the Czech Republic. The thesis is divided into two main parts, theoretic and empiric. The theoretic part deals with the context of home help services. The changes in old age which develops in seniority are discussed. The attention is paid to social services which above all the seniors draw. In this part the definition, purpose, characteristics and division of social services are explained. Further the thesis deals with founders, providers and clients of social services. The area of home help services is described in more details from the historic and present point of view. The concept of home help services in use practise is integral part of it. The conclusion of theoretic part introduces the problems of quality in social services and quality in general. The introduction of the empiric part deals with the characteristics of home help services in Rakovnicko, where the research was carried out. Sokol during the protectorate. Organized resistance of ČOS

Záměrem této disertační práce bylo postihnout sokolskou protinacistickou rezistenci jako celek. Výsledkem takto zaměřené heuristiky bylo ovšem brzké konstatování, že za současného stavu výzkumu protektorátní problematiky let 1943- 1945 není v silách autora zpracovat sokolský odboj druhé poloviny protektorátu na úrovni alespoň částečně adekvátní polovině první. Původní záměr nebylo možno realizovat, neboť šířka a složitost této problematiky (zvláště v závěru války) by si vyžádala řadu samostatných studií o významných rezistenčních organizacích, které v současné době nejsou v primárním zorném poli autora. Otázky, které ohledně sokolského odboje na sklonku protektorátu vyvstaly, se koncentrují minimálně do dvou základních okruhů, v nichž se jedná především o individuální podíl jednotlivých sokolů a sokolských skupin na protinacistické rezistenci let 1943 - 1944 a účast sokolů na českém povstání roku 1945.
