The impact of territorial disputes of Japan on its position within the region of East Asia
Palivcová, Petra ; Andělová, Petra (advisor) ; Bláha, Petr (referee)
This paper deals with causes and implications of territorial disputes between Japan and its neighbouring countries, i.e. People Republic of China, Chinese Republic on Taiwan, Republic of Korea and Russian federation. It outlines historical ground for Japanese position in the region of East Asia, historical origins of the territorial disputes as well as contemporary situation among the parties concerned. The author reveals the economical, political and strategical importance of the contentions and focuses on resulting reasons of (un)solvability of the disputes and its impact on the region and mutual cooperation of participants mentioned above. The role of the territorial disputes is also judged from the perspectives of development of the position of Japan in East Asia and ensuing impact on its politics towards its neighbours. As a conclusion the paper brings enumeration of so far executed solutions to the conflicts as well as several other resources to solve the disputes in order to maintain peace and stability in the area of East Asia. As an important factor and possibility, the role of involvement in common institutions of regional and global importance is highlighted. Powered by TCPDF (www.tcpdf.org)

The Relationship between a Student?s Minority Status and Success in School
Hajná Rozsívalová, Markéta ; Bittnerová, Dana (referee) ; Hadj - Moussová, Zuzana (advisor)
The objective of this páper is to describe the attitude o f a pupil of Roma origin to achievement of success in school education, and to demonstrate his life story. The paper is divided into two parts, a theoretical and an empirical one. The data were collected in two stages (first and respectively second semester of school year 2004/2005), they relate to different samples and they were not always targeted on the same subject. For this reason, the empirical part is further divided into two subsections. In the first of these I used a questionnaire by means of which I wanted to find and defíne a definite framework of success at school, which would be based on the respondents' attitudes. I intended to find out, what statements made by respondents would best characterise success at school and what and to what extent is most significant for their individual sense of success. I also wanted to show, how the respondents' attitude towards success at school gradually develops. In order to make the reading of the text easier I have placed the theoretical part at the beginning, although it was developed in parallel with evaluation of questionnaires. In the second part, which I believe is most important in this text, I have tried to develop in more detail data from the first part and plače them into a wider context The...

The occurrence of the HW element in Welsh English
Kolísková, Barbora ; Skarnitzl, Radek (advisor) ; Šturm, Pavel (referee)
The aim of this diploma thesis is to investigate the accent realizations of the initial consonant in wh- words in Welsh English. The theoretical background of this study deals with the development of Welsh language and its interactions with the British standard variety. Together with the previously mentioned the phonological inventories of Welsh, RP, and Welsh English are described in the first part. We further analyzed the development of the <hw> element in the British Isles in general. The research part of this study is concerned with the analysis of the data from 20 speakers of Welsh English. Three speech styles were used for the final analysis: spontaneous speech (informal style), isolated words (formal style) and reading of Cinderella (formal style). Signal-to-noise ratio and voicing of the <hw> segments were measured in order to discover the occurrence and the nature of the <hw> element. The lowest levels of harmonicity were measured in segments that were obtained from the formal reading style. The highest levels were measures in the spontaneous speech tokens. Younger speakers showed higher levels of harmonicity than older speakers. The results of the male and the female participants were different in each type. In the spontaneous speech style the male speakers tended to have lower levels of...

Isotonic Regression in Sobolev Spaces
Pešta, Michal ; Dostál, Petr (referee) ; Hlávka, Zdeněk (advisor)
We propose a class of nonparametric estimators for the regression models based on least squares over the sets of sufficiently smooth functions. Least squares permit the imposition of additional constraint-isotonia-on nonparametric regression estimation and testing of this constraint. The estimation takes place over the balls of functions which are elements of a suitable Sobolev space-special types of Hilbert spaces that facilitate calculation of the least squares projection. The Hilbertness is allowing us to take projections and hence to decompose spaces into mutually orthogonal complements. Then we transform the problem of searching for the best fitting function in an infinite dimensional space into a finite dimensional optimization problem. We prove that the balls of functions in Sobolev space are bounded and have bounded higher order derivatives. It permits us to estimate over rich set of functions with sufficiently low metric entropy and apply Laws of Large Numbers and Central Limit Theorems.

Vliv oxidačního stresu na aktivitu telomerických elementů u \kur{Drosophila melanogaster}
HEJDOVÁ, Veronika
HeTom transgene expression was studied in order to determine the effect of chronic oxidative stress, using paraquat, on transcriptional activity of the promoter of Het-A telomeric element. After exposure to low paraquat concentrations, I found increased transcript levels of telomeric HeT-A as well as HeTom, the non-telomeric insertion of HeT-A promoter in combination with the gene for fluorescent protein Tomato.

Film Industry and Audience Development
Pojarová, Karolína ; KOPECKÝ, Čestmír (advisor) ; Horák, Petr (referee)
A study with elements of research and culture theories dedicated to the theme of an involvement of film industry players in the audience development field. The work is aimed at film professionals predominantly and its goal is to present the potential of film literacy and its use for the industrial sector. Positive examples from the European audience development practice are mentioned in order to draw inspiration to the Czech environment. Last but not least, several ways of participation of Czech film producers and distributors in the audience development initiatives are proposed.

This thesis is aimed at specific questions of conflict rules of the international family law. Specifically, it focuses on the conflict law rules of matrimonial law with an international element. It takes into account the domestic, as well as the international regulation and regulation of the European Union. The thesis is divided into eight chapters. It starts with an introduction, which is followed by the second chapter which deals with the concept of international family law and its sources. The third chapter devoted to a general explanation of the conflict rules including the most significant related terms, such as determining factor or public order. The fourth chapter is aimed at the legal regulation of concluding a marriage with respect of the conflict rules determining the law applicable in case of capacity to conclude a marriage, its validity and form. This chapter also deals with consular marriages and marriages concluded abroad in case of threat to life. The fifth chapter contains he conflict rules of personal and property situation of spouses. This chapter at the same time reflects a recent progress in this field as far as European Union law on property situation in marriage is concerned. The sixth chapter is aimed at termination of mixed marriage and primarily at conflict rules of...

Summary report of results of the contract research between FZU AV ČR, v.v. i. and HVM Plasma s.r.o. for 2016
Mates, Tomáš ; Fejfar, Antonín ; Ledinský, Martin ; Vetushka, Aliaksi ; Pikna, Peter ; Bauerová, Pavla
Samples of protective layers based on DLC (Diamond-like-Carbon) on different substrates (test bodies and real components) were studied by several diagnostic methods.\nRaman spectroscopy was used for the detection of bindings in order to specify the structural variations, surface modifications both for as-deposited samples and particularly for samples that underwent different stress tests.\nScanning Electron Microscope (SEM) was used to examine the surface structure of layers in different locations on the sample and to search suitable test spots for the subsequent analysis by the Atomic Force Microscope (AFM). AFM in special modes was employed to measure the maps local mechanical properties (friction, tip adhesion, energy dissipation, etc.).\nOn a selected sample, the cross-sectional structure of the sample was analysed by the Focussed Ion Beam (FIB) and the elemental composition in various thicknesses was documented by the Energy-dispersive X-ray Spectroscopy (EDS).\n
