Cílem této práce je zachycení vztahu žáka z romské menšiny ke školnímu úspěchu v kontextu jeho životního příběhu. Práce je rozdělena na teoretickou a empirickou část. Protože data byla sbírána ve dvou etapách (první pololetí a druhé pololetí šk. roku 2004/2005) na různých vzorcích žáků a s různým záměrem, je empirická část rozdělena ještě na dvě části. V první jsem pomocí dotazníku chtěla najít určitý pojmotvomý rámec problematiky školního úspěchu, který by vycházel z postojů respondentů. Zajímalo mě, jaké výroky školní úspěch nejlépe charakterizují a jak moc jsou pro pocit úspěchu významné. Chtěla jsem zde poukázat na v vývojové hledisko vztahu ke školnímu úspěchu. Srovnávala jsem tedy postoje mezi 6. až 8. třídami. Pro lepší orientaci v textu řadím teoretickou část na začátek, ačkoli vznikala souběžně s hodnocením dotazníků. Ve druhé části, která je pro tuto práci stěžejní, se snažím pomocí rozhovorů s menším vzorkem respondentů, prohloubit data první části a začlenit je do širšího kontextu. Zde se dotýkáme postojů pěti respondentů z romské menšiny a pěti respondentů z majority (kteří jsou kontrolní skupinou) nejen ke školnímu úspěchu, ale i k osobní perspektivě, motivaci k učení, životním hodnotám, významu rodiny a významu školy vůbec. Nakonec diskutuji interpretaci dat s teoretickými východisky a... The objective of this páper is to describe the attitude o f a pupil of Roma origin to achievement of success in school education, and to demonstrate his life story. The paper is divided into two parts, a theoretical and an empirical one. The data were collected in two stages (first and respectively second semester of school year 2004/2005), they relate to different samples and they were not always targeted on the same subject. For this reason, the empirical part is further divided into two subsections. In the first of these I used a questionnaire by means of which I wanted to find and defíne a definite framework of success at school, which would be based on the respondents' attitudes. I intended to find out, what statements made by respondents would best characterise success at school and what and to what extent is most significant for their individual sense of success. I also wanted to show, how the respondents' attitude towards success at school gradually develops. In order to make the reading of the text easier I have placed the theoretical part at the beginning, although it was developed in parallel with evaluation of questionnaires.
