A certain degree of collaboration was forced onto the majority of the journalists through mandatory membership in the Association of Dutch journalists in summer 1940, and later in the autumn of 1941 also in the Press guild of the Dutch cultural chamber. Collaboration was also encouraged by the newly founded Department of public enlightenment and arts which was striving to enforce ideas of national socialism. Almost all journalists continued to practice their profession for reasons of existence Already in 1943 the Dutch government in London exile started preparing the postwar process of society cleansing from collaborators. How changed the image of the Soviet Union in the protectorate daily press-comparison of the contemporary media contents in august-september 1939 and june-juli 1941
Veselá, Lenka ; Bednařík, Petr (advisor) ; Cebe, Jan (referee)
Diploma thesis "Change of the Soviet Union image in the protectorate press based on comparison of the media content from the turn of August/September 1939 and June/July 1941" deals with the manner in which the protectorate newspapers informed about the Ribbentop-Molotov Pact and later about the German invasion of the Soviet Union. The examples of these events and their reflection in the Protectorate press demonstrate how flexibly the protectorate propaganda responded to the current political line. For the purposes of the thesis, there have been selected three newspapers: Polední list, Večerní České Slovo and Venkov. These periodicals were examined in two time-bound periods, from 23rd August till 27th September 1939 and from 16th June till 14th July 1941. The methodology used is a historical comparative analysis, which discusses the transformation of Protectorate propaganda attitudes in the dependence on the historical context, and semiotic analysis, which deals with period media discourse and reveals ideology sustained on the level of sign systems.

Emil Hácha as State President of the Protectorate Böhmen und Mähren
Šafr, Jakub ; Rataj, Jan (advisor) ; Martínek, Miloslav (referee)
JUDr. Emil Hacha is one of the most controversial figures of our modern history. He is best known as the so --called State president of the Protectorate of Bohemia and Moravia and the symbol of collaborator in 1939 -- 1945 in the awareness of the nation. Opinions of his activity in the position of supreme protectorate official are different among historians. Some consider him to be a sacrifice of the tragic time and symbol of resistance who fought to the last moments to save the Czech nation. Some present tendentious publicists and radical conservatives find him even as the hero in occupied country. Others accuse him of treachery and collaboration, which helped to legitimize the occupation system. In the case of Hacha it was a specific form of collaboration with elements of retardation. This pro-German activism consisted mainly in his political-ideological orientation of antiliberal radical conservatives with historical-constitutional vision of concept of the Czech statehood in terms of Holy Roman Empire. E. Hacha applied his conception to Nazi III. Empire. Hacha's applicability for Nazis lay in his typical clerical duty to obey the superior authorities. Hacha doesn't belong among the adherents of Nazi doctrine, but his appeasement policy allowed to Nazis to dominate over the remaining Czech territory and despite of his national feeling he led inadvertently the Czech nation to factual destruction. He was for Nazis the most appropriate partner for their realization of final solution of Czech issue and subsequent Germanization instead of the Czech fascists and the active collaborators of E. Moravec. Although Hacha as the state president represented the contemporary symbol of collaboration, some nowadays opinions reinterpret his acts mistakenly and in its result they apologize or even overstate Hacha's collaboration.

Vichy in the mirror of conscience of the French nation
Křížová, Anna ; Nechvátal, Martin (advisor) ; Veselý, Zdeněk (referee)
During the Second World War France was divided into occupied and unoccupied zone. The unoccupied zone was ruled by autonomous regime with official seat in the town of Vichy. Representatives of the Vichist regime collaborated with the Nazis and carried out anti-Jewish policy. After the war General de Gaulle, in order to establish unity, declared the Vichist regime invalid. After the French society was cleared of the war collaborators the Vichy episode was erased from the history of France At the beginning of the seventies in France began to appear tendencies to search the real course of the war occupation period. Shooting the film Le Chagrin et la Pitié or editing the French translation of Rober Paxton's book La France de Vichy may serve as examples. Since the early nineties French intellectuals tried to persuade political representatives to recognize officially the responsibility of France for Vichy crimes. This act was done by President Jacques Chirac in 1995. Simultaneously with discussions on the Vichist past a struggle for fair punishment of war collaborators for crimes against humanity was going on in the French society. Paul Touvier, former militiamen, was sentenced in 1994 and Maurice Papon, former official of the Vichist regime, in 1998.
Analysis of Hosted Applications for Support of Virtual Teamwork
Král, Roman ; Kunstová, Renáta (advisor) ; Štefaňák, Vladislav (referee)
The focus of this thesis is to analyze how online hosted applications available free of charge can be used to support work in virtual teams. The objectives are first to characterize virtual teams and groupware applications, and then to analyze the scope and functionality of available applications including more detailed evaluation and comparison of certain selected applications (which also support collaborative document creation). Key factors that need to be considered when choosing applications for virtual teams are identified along with other characteristics of virtual teams and team processes. A brief outline of the characteristic features of groupware applications and the SaaS model is followed by comprehensive analysis of various categories of available applications and their functionality. This analysis includes recommendations regarding the suitability of different applications for specific teams and situations. Services offered by suppliers of more complex sets of applications, which include applications supporting collaborative document creation, are analyzed and compared in greater detail. Some of these sets are recommended as a suitable foundation for complex support of the work of a virtual team. The whole analysis is closed by an illustrative case scenario, which can be used as an educational tool to enable people to get to know the basic principles of virtual teamwork and of some of the applications analyzed in this thesis.
