Atomic structure of FeRh(001) surface
Ondračka, Václav ; Bábor, Petr (referee) ; Čechal, Jan (advisor)
Alloy of iron-rhodium, Fe50Rh50, shows a low-temperature metamagnetic phase transition between its antiferromagnetic and ferromagnetic state. A detailed description of this transition using the tools of surface analysis has not yet been done. This bachelor’s thesis focuses on preparation and characterisation of the alloy’s clean surface using X-ray photoemission spectroscopy and low-energy electron diffraction. A flat field correction and a diffraction measurement callibration is done using a sample with known crystal lattice in order to quantify the diffraction results.
Environment-Dependent Surface Structure of Fe2O3(012)
Navrhnuté zariadenie bolo použité na štúdium interakcie vody so známymi (1x1) a (2x1) povrchovými alfa-Fe2O3(012).
Electronic structure of bimetallic systems - study of gas molecule interaction
Píš, Igor ; Nehasil, Václav (advisor) ; Bartoš, Igor (referee) ; Polčík, Martin (referee)
Bimetallic Rh-V system was studied by means of surface science experimental methods. Properties of ultra-thin Rh-V layers supported by γ-Al2O3 were compared with model systems prepared by vacuum V deposition on Rh(111), Rh(110) and polycrystalline rhodium. Formation of ordered V- Rh(111)-(2×2), V-Rh(110)-(2×1) and V-Rh(110)-(1×2) subsurface alloys and their electronic and atomic structure were investigated and models of the surface reconstructions were proposed. Influence of the subsurface alloy formation on interaction with CO and O2 molecules as well as the influence of the molecule adsorption on this alloy was investigated. The bond between CO molecules and Rh-V alloy surface was weakened due to pronounced changes in surface valence band structure. Oxygen which adsorbed on the alloy surface reacted with the subsurface vanadium at elevated temperature and blocked the interaction of the metal substrate with CO molecules.
Impact of the economic crisis on the construction market and the current trends in the construction sector
Nováková, Barbora ; Čajka, Radek (advisor) ; Bolotov, Ilya (referee)
The diploma thesis Impact of the economic crisis on the construction market and the current trends in the construction sector focuses mainly on the development of the Czech construction market in relation to the economic crisis of 2008-2009, while looking for conjunctions with macroeconomic indicators. It also describes the following period of development of the construction sector with an emphasis on current trends. Exemplifying how this is implemented into practice, the diploma thesis includes a description of the activities of a group of companies called EBM Group.
Application of metallic materials for selective growth
Němeček, Tomáš ; Rezek, Bohuslav (referee) ; Čechal, Jan (advisor)
The Si(100) surface and Ga surface phases up to 1 ML on their oxidation have been studied by XPS and LEED. The selective growth of Ga on the SiO2/Si structures fabricated by EBL has been analyzed using SEM and AFM methods. It was proved that Ga clusters grow in structures beside the oxide. The structure of alumina on Ni3Al(111) and NiAl(110) substrates was fully determined by combining the results of STM measurements and DFT simulations. It was determined the alumina/NiAl(110) does not form a suitable template for ordered Fe and Co clusters growth. However, the next research confirmed the alumina/Ni3Al(111) forms template appropriate to clusters growth purpose.
Growth ultrathin of layers Au
Beránek, Jiří ; Kolíbal, Miroslav (referee) ; Mach, Jindřich (advisor)
The aim of this thesis is to study growth of ultrathin gold layers prepared by MBE (Molecular beam epitaxy) in UHV conditions. Differently modified sillicon served as a substrate and depositions were done at different temperatures of a substrate. Samples were analyzed by ToF LEIS for thickness, morfology was examined by SEM and AFM. X-ray photoelectron spectra were taken for chemical analysis. Gathered data together with their evaluation contribute to description and understanding of some processes during deposition and subsequent exposure of the sample to high temperatures. Experimental data and conslusions also prowide basis for further experiments and development of potential applications.
The Efficiency of Green Buildings in the Czech Republic - Case Study of CSOB Building in Prague
Leifr, Miroslav ; Slavík, Jan (advisor) ; Kalabisová, Jana (referee)
Following thesis deals with analysis about so called "green" administrative buildings and also tries to evaluate their efficiency under the conditions of sustainable development in Czech Republic. Theoretical part describes main reasons for construction such buildings that should lead to sustainable development as a result of reaching so called Triple Bottom Line. It means to ensure the balance among economic, environmental and social aspects. Practical part covers the analysis about efficiency on particular case study of green administrative building owned by CSOB bank.
Environmental certification of buildings - a case study of the Faculty of Management
Jaroš, Michal ; Syrovátka, Oldřich (advisor) ; Jirka, Jakub (referee)
The goal of the submitted bachelor thesis is to outline the issue of environmental certificates for buildings, their classification and significance considering economic, ecologic and social aspects and to define the benefits of using chosen certificates. The practical part solves a case study and proposes specific changes which would have to be made so that the Faculty of Mangement's library gain environmental certificate LEED.
