PDA Indexer
Šenkýř, Michal ; Lánský, Jan (referee) ; Galamboš, Leo (advisor)
The goal of this work is to build an application for full-text indexing of PIM data (according to the JSR-75 specification) on a portable device. This application consists of two parts: 1) Client, which runs on the portable device, which supports Java 2 Micro Edition with the JSR-75 extension. This part creates inverted lists, sends them to the server and allows sending of search queries and displaying their results. 2) Server, which runs on the Java virtual machine on a personal computer. This part uses the search engine Egothor 2 to create a file index and search it. To cut the costs tied to the transmission of necessary information and to ensure security of transmissions, the communication between the client and the server will be compressed and encrypted. The subject of this work is primarily the study of the selected encryption and compression methods sufficient for the correct mplementation and the verification of the availability and stabilty of the existing J2ME platform API and the Egothor2 search engine.

Possible Pitfalls of Quantitative Metrics
Mika, Pavel
This post presents critical view on practical use of bibliometric methods. There are listed difficulties and limitation which cause lower value of information got by metrics and which increase a risk of misinterpretation. Discussion about possible solution is provided and general recommendation is suggested for accurate use of bibliometry. There is also described issue of research area scheming which is necessary for objective use if citation indicators. But which schema use and how does this influence the results could be quite difficult question. Bibliometric indicators itself include quite wide range of circumstances, which are important to take into consideration (e. g. size dependent and independent indicators, average distortion, minimum threshold of documents). Use of whole or fractional counting could be an interesting question.\n

Ethical signifying in late Levinas
Bierhanzl, Jan ; Novotný, Karel (advisor) ; Calin, Rodolphe (referee) ; Bensussan, Gérard (referee)
The paper here presented attempts to retrace the course of the ethical signifying. Although the main characteristic feature of this movement of signifying is the « for-the-other », we show that following the double phenomenological method called concretisation-andemphasis, Levinas accomplishes this movement by means of other features: « unique sense », « starting from the self », « despite oneself », « the other in the same », « I am an other », « for nothing » and « by the other ». The chapter II brings a borderline feature « one-for-all-the others » which articulates ethics with justice. It has an ambivalent status between brotherhood (responsability for the close neighbour and the distant one) and justice (relation between equals) and is a necessary, but not a sufficient condition for the genesis of language. Eventhough, this list is not exhaustive, but simply indicative. This paper is not anything more than a digression in the movement of ethical signifying, an infinite movement, which precedes diachronically every attempt to give an account of it and interrupts the sense that the author believes putting in words. Then the investigations here presented can be interpreted as different modalities of the Un-saying (Dédire in french) of the Said which consists in putting in evidence the exception of the...

A theoretical analyse of problem of complex education of disabled children and free time pedagogy was made prior to empirical research. An exploration methods were used in empirical research. Data collection was based on pricple of anonymous list of questions. Quantitative results of empirical research were pocessed in graphical way. A method of nonstandard interview was used to complete necessary information. Quantitative results of nonstandard interviews were pocessed in text way. Practical evaluation was also pocessed in text analyse Results: Theoretical analyse and literature search relating to topic Validation of present situation of education of the...

The practical part proposes two examplary boards designed for laboratories of UEEN VUT in Brno and describes its construction, as well as the programs necessary for its programming, control and monitoring. The outcome of this Master's thesis is a survey of possible remote control of DALI bus system's actuators and mutual compatibility of KNX and DALI bus systems. Furthermore, this paper includes background material for laboratory task, based on data found about remote control and DALI bus system's monitoring.
