CPR - aid tools in the PNP (methodology, aid tools status, NLZP competency)
Hazuková, Jana ; Votroubková, Michaela (advisor) ; Kupečková, Ivana (referee) ; Klicperová, Zuzana (referee)
Bachelor thesis deals with the competence of paramedical staff in cardiopulmonary resuscitation in prehospital care in terms of emergency medical services and the tools/equipment they use which are of course essential conditions to ensure that the effectiveness of the intervention was for the patient as favorable as possible. In the empirical part, which consists of a quantitative exploratory investigation, knowledge and skills at particular level of competency are compared. It compacts an idea to what extent we use our competencies, and on the contrary, if there are cases we act beyond our competency and responsibility.

Barbora Černá (roz. Janásková) ledovce. Stáří sedimentů ze dna Rybích louček vypovídá o tom, že ledovec podlehl deglaciaci již na sklonku pleistocénu. The PhD thesis deals with paleogeographic reconstruction of glaciation in the Jizera Mts. The research was focused on issues, which were not satisfactorily solved yet: the continental glaciation extent, effects of the glacier impact on the recent relief morphology and a possibility of mountain glaciation. During the investigation additional questions about the method of Schmidt hammer measurements arose and were treated in a separate methodological study. The aims of the research are: - to delimit the maximum altitudinal extent of the continental glaciation - to determine the influence of the quaternary glaciations on relief and identify its geomorphological and sedimentary evidence - to contribute to resolve the issue of mountain glaciation in the Jizera Mts. The present work consists of six articles that were published in...

The potential of problem-solving tasks for meta-cognitive training
Marelová, Jitka ; Krykorková, Hana (referee) ; Rendl, Miroslav (advisor)
This study investigates the effects of metacognitive training in mathematic word problem solving in the 4th grade of elementary school. Metacognition introduces tools for better coping with the demands of changing world by offering strategies for efficient learning or succesful problem solving etc. Metacognitive knowledge and regulation can be improved through classroom instructional practices. Many pupils have difficulty solving math word problems because they often cannot decide what to do to solve the problem. Mathematical problem solving is a complex cognitive activity involving a number of processes and strategies, which creates an opportunity for intervention to improve metacognition. The metacognitive knowledge in turn helps the pupil to represent the mental model of the word problem and also guides process of problem solving towards the solution. In the first part of this paper we present the theoretical resources for creating a metacognitive training and summarize strategies, that teachers can use to facilitate children's metacognitive development and promote the monitoring and regulation of their cognitive enterprises. In the practical part we describe the methodology and outcomes of the proposed training. The obstacles in implementing the training and recommendations on how regular classroom...

Great Depression in thirties of 20th century and its consequences for Czechoslovakia
Valenta, David ; Váňa, Daniel (advisor) ; Tajovský, Ladislav (referee)
My thesis deals with the Great Depression on the 1930's, which was one of the biggest economic disasters of last century. It follows especially the course and consequences of the crisis in Czechoslovakia. There are still many questions about this event and economists of whole world have never agreed on the only explanation, which could describe and solve all the causes and circumstances of Great Depression. In addition, there are also many views that the crisis had influence not only in economic sphere, but also had the social and political impacts. First part deals with international connections of Great Depression and searches causations of crisis in economic theory and describes the birth of Great Depression in United States. Second and third parts analyze the beginning and running of the crisis in Czechoslovakia and deal with particular sections of economy. The fourth part summaries economic and political effects of the crisis in Czechoslovakia and shows how the country faced up to depression.

Metody aproximace plně pravděpodobnostního návrhu rozhodování za neúplné znalosti
Pištěk, Miroslav ; Andrýsek, Josef (referee) ; Kárný, Miroslav (advisor)
In this thesis, we introduce an efficient algorithm for an optimal decision strategy approximation. It approximates the optimal equations of dynamic programming without omitting the principal uncertainty stemming from an uncomplete knowledge of a controlled system. Thus, the algorithm retains the ability to constantly verify the actual knowledge, which is the essence of dual control. An integral part of solution proposed is a reduction of memory demands using HDMR approximation. We have developed a general method for numerical solution of linear integral equations based on this approximation, and applied it to solve a linearized variant of optimal equations. To achieve such a variant, it was necessary to apply a different control design called fully probabilistic design which allows easier finding of a linearized approximation. The result of this method is a pair of linear algebraic systems for the upper and lower bound on the central function describing the optimal strategy. One illustrative example has been completely resolved.

The Suicide - A Moral Evaluation
Krajíc, Pavel ; Ovečka, Libor (advisor) ; Rethmann, Albert-Peter (referee)
Author: Pavel Krajíc Theme: Self-murder - moral evaluation Human being is put up before number of problems that he or she has to solve. Many times he or she is impeded by the situation of despair, feelings of absence of any sense or even by the lack of attentive care from man's surrounding. So the only solution how to get rid of that despair is seen in liquidation of the human itself. To avoid this risk, it depends not only on the person itself but also on the help from its surrounding. In case of incurable the palliative care is the pivotal help for the sick. What is especially important is that the person that is intended to end his or her life, or even tried to do it, mustn't be alone. In terms of moral evaluation it is important to consider the situation that contributed to suicide. Key words: value of human life, self-murder, the Bible, history, Canon Law, empirical sciences (sociology, medical science, psychology), educational authority of the church, help, assisted suicidium, euthanasia, palliative care.

Structural recognition of facades
Dobiaš, Martin ; Zitová, Barbara (referee) ; Šára, Radim (advisor)
We investigate a method for interpretation of facades from single images. The emphasis is on the separation of knowledge about facade structure and detection of facade elements. The interpretation task is formulated as a Bayesian inference problem of nding maximum a posteriori estimate. A stochastic model that encompasses the structural knowledge about facade elements is presented and an it is used together with an integrated classi er to determine the correct positions of facade elements. We construct a Markov chain Monte Carlo sampler that solves the problem. Various improvements of the model and sampling algorithm are discussed. Finally, we propose a more general approach for structural recognition using context-free grammars that could be used for other computer vision tasks.

Study of mechanisms of ammonia production in yeast colonies and liquid cultures
Strachotová, Dita ; Váchová, Libuše (advisor) ; Sychrová, Hana (referee) ; Gášková, Dana (referee)
Yeast, although non-motile and unicellular organisms can create organized structures, colonies, in which cells communicate and cooperate and which in some ways resemble multicellular organisms. Our previous studies on yeast colony development revealed that colonies periodically change pH of their surroundings. Alkalization of an agar medium is accompanied by production of volatile ammonia that acts as the long-range signal. Microarray analysis of the expression changes in Saccharomyces cerevisiae colonies during their transition from acid to alkali phase revealed significant changes in yeast transcriptome. Among others, strong induction of expression of three homologous genes ATO1 (YNR010c, ADY2), ATO2 (YNR002c, FUN34) and ATO3 (YDR384c) at the beginning of the alkali phase was found. These genes encode membrane proteins that may function as ammonium/H+ antiporters. This work contributes to better understanding of both the ammonia signaling and the role of putative ammonium exporters - Ato proteins. It was revealed, that other volatile compounds - methylamine and propylamine - are (in addition to ammonia) able to induce entry into the alkali phase of yeast colony development. Moreover, the significant impact of the transport of monocarboxylic acids on ammonia production and yeast colony development...
